While I agree with most of what you are saying, there are no legally protected people here who can go after Muslims because, they are Muslim.

You can be a Muslim, pray on the bus to work and that's your business.

This sort of understanding doesn't apply in the Muslim nations. You put a Christmas tree up in your home in Saudi Arabia, you'd better hope you don't get caught.

Ba'hai have been hung with great ceremony for the crime of ...being Ba'hai in Iran.

Murdering a Bahai in Iran isn't even a crime.

I guess it's a demon.
Geeez, I mean, let's just be for real. Ahmadinejad is just a madman with a messianic complex. It's that simple.

We can sit and conjecture all we want. The truth is rather simple.

Ahmadinejad doesn't think he is the saviour.

He does seem to think he could be the one that sets up the circumstanes for it though.

I'm not sure that quite qualifies as a messanic complex.

I think he seems more like that one lady who was the right hand woman of Jim Jones.

Look at the strong emotional environment as positive, to learn from it. It is but a teacher.

We cannot learn of the good without the bad, love it unconditionally.

Mahmoud A has been censured publicly by Khameini for speaking of his 'connection' to the Coming of the 12th Imam.

Since the last election the politics of Iran have changed. The Mullahs are no longer in full control. The Revolutionary Guard with Mr A front man have quietly enacted a coup. Mr A may be despised by the tiny segement of the population we see and hear about. They live in North Tehran, are educated, professional, speak English and are in touch with the West.

But they represent maybe 3-4% of the population. The rest are poor, uneducated, deeply religious, suspicious of the West and other cultures. Mr A represents security for them and maintenance of strong traditional values.

IT has gone to his head. He reads about himself in the Western media and is adored by his countrymen. He also runs a country generating billions in oil and gas revenues. So rather than just dream of having access to the most advanced technological forms of destruction and atomic weapons, he can buy them.

Unfortunately his scope and approach t conflict is still primitively tribalistic. So the solutions envisioned are simple. Kill the Jews in the region, defeat the opposing corrupt Sunni kingship (Saudi Arabia, Jordan) - conquer and enslave the Christian West.

He has the resources, the sign are there he is the Man of Destiny.

He is a paranoid delusional but one who is receiving reinforcement of his fantasies.

Welcome to MahdiWatch.org!
~ mahdiwatch.org...

al-Mahdi is "the rightly-guided one" who, according to Islamic Hadiths (traditions), will come before the end of time to make the entire world Muslim. Over the last 1400 years numerous claimants to the mantle of the Mahdi have arisen in both Shi`i and Sunni circles. Modern belief in the coming of the Mahdi has manifested most famously in the 1979 al-`Utaybi uprising of Sa`udi Arabia, and most recently in the ongoing Mahdist movements (some violent) in Iraq, as well as in the frequently-expressed public prayers of Iranian President Ahmadinezhad bidding the Mahdi to return and, in the larger Sunni Islamic world, by claims that Usamah bin Ladin might be the Mahdi. This site will track such Mahdi-related movements, aspirations, propaganda and beliefs in both Sunni and Shi`i milieus, as well as other Muslim eschatological yearnings

and here's the current noise this thread is about:

Messiah v. Messiah?

al-Arabiya yesterday was quoting Iranian news outlet Tabnak to the effect that Iran's President Ahmadinejad "said he has documented evidence that the United States is doing what it can to prevent the coming of the Mahdi...." Speaking in Isfahan to families of men killed in the 1980s war with Iraq, Ahmadinejad also claimed that "they [Americans] have devised all these plans to prevent the coming of the Hidden Imam because they know that the Iranian nation is the one that will prepare the grounds for his coming and will be the supporters of his rule." Ahmadinejad also "revealed plots by both the East and the West to wipe out the Islamic Republic" and opined on the U.S. "quagmire" in Afghanistan (www.alarabiya.net...).

there are a few posts/replies which confuse the Mahdi with either anti-christ/or/messiah/or/false prophet

First, you must realize that the Bible is two parts. The Old Testament, and the New Testament. The Jews could accept the Old Testament, they just don't like the New, which talks about Jesus, who they had put to death. They thought he was a phoney. The last book of the New is Revelation, and that is where Armageddon is talked about. Far as the Jews are concerned, Jesus is dead, and that is that. You also need to realize that many Jews are becoming Christians now. What we know as Messianic Jews. Most Christians think the 'rapture' is going to happen before all hell breaks loose on Earth. Jesus said he was returning 'after these things' happened. Before He returns, there will be two men who will stop the rains, and the whole world will hate them. They will be killed, and their bodys left on the street for a couple days, while the world parties.
We used a technology in the Persian Gulf War, where we broadcast this huge image of a bearded man, 'Allah', telling the Iraqi troops to lay down their arms, in Arabic, because it was 'His' will. We also fried their electrical systems in their tanks. The Stealth planes were ten year old tech when they were made public. Wonder what they have now...
Muslims are not taught this, but Mohammeds' family idol in Palestine was a moon god named, you got it, ALLAH! And, you may know, he was having some probs with his family, so he named his new god Allah. Why? Beats me...At first, he had this Allah with two daughters, also to be worshiped. Later, he did away with them and just went with the one. Can't think of their names, but you can find them on the web, I am sure. Also photos of this 'god' of stone. Palestine had 360 gods, one fore every day of the year. Yup, we had 360 before the last passing of our twin star, Nemesis. This is why we have 360 degrees in a circle or compass. And it is due back in a couple years. 2011, I think, or 2012. That may be the reason all the ancient civs talk about TEOLAWKI in 2012. It's happened on Earth before. The book of Revelation talks about an incoming star, and a thing called Wormwood that poisons the worlds water. I think that would be an asteroid tailing the dim star. Some say that it can be spotted right now, next to the sun, with welders helmets. I am rather skeptical on that. Anyway, I'm talked, or typed, out now. Nite!

This is an interesting post, altogether. But, I do take issue with "most" Christians believing in the "rapture". Actually, the rapture ideology has only arrived on the scene in recent decades, or so. Most older, established Christian churches do not believe in this. It is not spoken of in the Bible, and consequently a man-made prediction as far as they are concerned.

Now this is fascinating. Never heard this before, but it does not surprise me one bit. Thanks for sharing this.

That's o.k... If he's mad enough about it, let him come over here and do something about it.. Not his army, just him and his big mouth. We are ready for him. The man is a coward.

Notice that he doesn't think that "the West" is trying to wipe out IRAN, but the "Islamic Republic."

Grander designs. He doesn't see himself as someone who is tapped to run IRAN, but someone who is a potential for running THE Islamic States.

I think some of us are missing the important part:

1. What sort of Mahdi-blocker is the U.S. using?
2. Is it spray, or topically applied?
3. Does it have an SPF rating, and if so, what?
4. Is it made by Baxter?
5. How is it deployed? ............ oh, crap, wait........ I see it all now..... How could we have been so narrow-minded?

IT'S CHEMTRAILS!! MAHDI-BLOCKER IS MADE OF CHEMTRAILS!

Hard to get a reading on the guy. You may be right he does it more for show than out of true passion. I think he quietly hates most the Mullah corruption and greed exemplified by Rafsanjani which he sees as a betrayal of the Islamic Revolution's principles.

He's a 'marginal personality' immature and lacking self-awareness but has grown to a position of responsibility in a political environment that rewarded his driven determination and embracing high-minded Islamic purity. The Mullahs believed their own rhetoric the first few years before they became fat and contented.

He may be taking advantage of the niche he carved for himself. But I can't shake the feeling he buys into his own delusions of grandeur.

The Saudis want him brought down a notch, Israel wants him gone, Putin thinks he's nuts, the Chinese just sit and watch. He may have Turkey and Iran onside.

Too many wild card aspects to predict what will happen.

Gadhaffi has claimed position as King of Africa so there has been behind-closed-doors talk of how the Caliphate will be divided up. Saudi will control Mecca and Medina and the tourism industry... wow, that will be a blast. But with the whole planet making pilgrimages to the place they will have their hands full.
Remember as a kid with all your friends in the pool, going in a circle to create a giant whirlpool? Same idea with the entire population of the planet circling Mecca... a black hole of sorts.... all for Allah.

Yes Islam is one unit. This is something we can't understand because we see borders like Rand McNally maps. Islam does not recognize those borders. Try to explain that to the average American.

Read historian Jared Diamond's "Collapse: How Societies Choose to Fail or Survive"

Muslim World about the same place other cultures were like the Mayans. Rose to great heights and then fell apart rapidly.

Overpopulaton, bad environmental management, fighting over resources, lack of internal co-operation, isolation, refusal to recognize critical problems.

The Jihad push to spark spontaneous overthrowing of despotic regimes turned out to be a spectacular failure. Western world backlash warming up.

Climate change, bad agrarian policies, lack of fresh water, over competition will bring disease and starvation to the Middle East. You watch.

They want war because they're falling off a cliff.
