I have no idea what my I.Q. is, or even if I yet posess any intelligence that is measurable.

Let me ask you something ...... Where were you tested? I was told by a friend who is a Mensa member that their I.Q. test is very accurate. I asked her how she knew, thinking that she might have some information on the parameters or such involved in the test. Nope. Apparently the test was deemed accurate, because she was assured that it is very stringent. Okeydokeyfinethen.

That wasn't an effort to besmirch Mensa nor its members. From what I understand, they don't do an online I.Q. test -- at least not for qualifying into their group, but do have a pre-test or Mensa workout.

Might be entertaining to take. *gulp* or not

[edit to correct the "reply to". I guess that oughta knock off a coupla points ha!]

I don't know what my IQ is, and no scientist can know either. No IQ test has ever been proven to be scientifically accurate.

It it a fact many things effect how well your mind works at different times throughout the day. The amount of sleep you've had, exercise both physical and mental, how much nutrition your body has including vitamins minerals, trace elements enzymes.

Lack enough of these things and that day, your as dumb as a rock. Have all of these things in the proper proportions and hey your Einstein for a day.

Intelligence is not how "Smart" you are, it is simply how well your brain is able to process cognitive functions efficiently.

It was through my elementary school.

Thanks! I was just curious. I read my reply to you and it sounded challenging......... didn't mean it to sound that way.

I've wondered before what standards are applied to certify this or that test as being accurate. I'd guess that tests given in an educational system would be certified and pretty accurate. I was given an I.Q. test, followed by an aptitude test in Junior High, but they refused to divulge the results of the I.Q. to any of us -- just the aptitude test results. * Of course, that was ummmmmm...... 40 years ago, so any intelligence quotient I might've had has likely been frittered away during my misspent youth.

*OR, maybe it was just ME they didn't tell.

136 as well, But it is no surprise since i have aspergers :-/

It nice being a fast learner, and super quick to figure things out - but i must be annoying when watching chick flicks with a girl. "why did she say that? why is he angry?"

I can recite pi to 10 places (took me 3 minutes to memorize), but yet i can't figure out what people are actually saying to me (social cues and such)

I took the ecma IQtest and scored a 116. That is about fifteen points lower than my elementary school test.

If I had about five more seconds to memorize the tiles in the memory test I would have done better.

I feel like a bit of an idiot now.

edit to add...

I checked on it. My IQ in school was 156. That means I've lost about 2.5 points per year.

mine's somewhere in the 130's. i could probably stand to be tested again though, because the last legitimate IQ testing i did was in the 8th grade. we had to do a series of different tests and they were all fairly long, even with the time restrictions. i've always been somewhere between "above average" and gifted/genius

Yes, it is hard to have a true evaluation of the IQ. And we should not forget - people do "learn" how to take a test, so next evaluations will be higher than the first. Anyway , for a serious evaluation (Not the banner from your mail ) , the score higher than 120 would put you on top 10 % highesc scores. Only 1 % would pass 140 . But again, someone can have a score of 120 and because of the passion on a certain subject - to be a PHD and do brilliant research. So , it is also how you use what you have. It is like having a very very fast car, yet as you live in a crowded town you never exceed 30 miles per hour. So what would be the point to have 500 horse power lol.

if you really want to be tested i suggest you pony up the fee to take the mensa exam. At least its accepted by most to be fairly accurate

An IQ score is meaningless without knowing the mean and standard deviation for the test.

If you are blessed with the ability to score high on a standardized intelligence test, it means that with plenty of hard work and perseverance you can succeed at just about anything you decide to do.

If you have taken an I.Q. test, what is your I.Q.? I don't think I.Q. is a good judge of intelligence, but it is a good judge of analytical abilities.

My I.Q. is 136.

Doing an IQ poll on the internet is like asking a bunch of dudes how many women they've slept with in real life.

How to find someones real IQ on the internet:

1) Take IQ as stated on the internet, in this case: 136

2) Subtract from average IQ: 136 - 100 = 36

3) Subtract difference from average IQ: 100 - 36 = 64

Now, lets look how you did on a chart denoting levels of mental retardation:

Profound mental retardation: Below 20
Severe mental retardation: 20–34
Moderate mental retardation: 35–49
Mild mental retardation: 50–69
Borderline intellectual functioning: 70–80

Congratulations, you're only mildly retarded.
