1. Stop trolling
2. How can I be racist against white people when I am white?
Stop being so touchy. Here in the UK it is a very, very popular perception, the whole idiot american thing.
Have you personally seen melting polar ice? Those shots of polar bears floating away on ice floes, supposedly to their deaths? Check out where polar bears spend their summer vacations, making baby polar bears....... seriously, just google it. Surprise, it is solid land, it's ICE-FREE, lots of mud and GROWING vegetation. It has been that way for a long, long time.

Then can someone please explain to me why the polar regions are melting at such a fast rate if global warming doesn't exsist or is it just a bunch of guys with bunsen burners making the ice melt?

Actually, it is a term used by people who are racist against whites or who are sympathetic to races other than whites. A term that they use to insult those whites which they have little or no common culture, values, etc....
What they fail to realize however, is that the people who actually are "redneck", aren't the least bit offended by the label. Often, they are even proud to be "redneck".
Strangely it seems to be a popular misconception that only whites can be/are "redneck". While in reality "redneck" represents a large percentage of people worldwide. It is particularly applicable to people of agricultural society/culture.
Due to politics and early geography in U.S. history, the popular idea of "redneck" has become the southern, white, male, predominately agricultural, and of course racist.
Increasingly outside the U.S., the term is used to sterotype Americans in general, especially those who have an opposing philosophy.
I have personally known several blacks and met probably hundreds of Hispanics who fit the description (except the white part of course).
One day people will stop calling it racism and use a term more descriptive of what it actually is. Which is culturism.
Culturism is the new racism.

I think I am sympathetic to your overall view (if I understand it correctly)- however I have yet to hear the term "redneck" reserved for anyone other than whites
Even physically, the term would not apply to blacks
Originally posted by slimpickens93If you are not redneck, it's likely that you don't really understand what a redneck is, and wouldn't recognize one without the obvious stereotypical attributes. Only a redneck would call a black person "redneck". Everyone else would call him "old school" or "country" or something similar.
I believe the wiki for "redneck" is very accurate.
en.wikipedia.org...
And without meaning to offend, I also believe that only a "racist" would associate skin color with a "redneck".

Whether you associate a "racist" with someone associating skin colour with a "redneck", that's how it is, your wiki link even states
"Redneck is a disparaging[1] term that refers to a person who is stereotypically Caucasian and of lower social-economic status"
QUite aside from it's racial origins of having a red neck caused by working in the sun (which obviously does not apply to blacks)

So regardless of whether some TRUE rednecks would or would not use the term towards a black person, it is a racially based term and it's racial origins and conotations cannot be removed
Originally posted by blueorderHey don't get me wrong, I don't think you can always remove race from these things, if that makes me a racist, so be it
Originally posted by slimpickens93Sure it can. If you ever learn to stop differentiating people on basis of race.
