1. Stop trolling
2. How can I be racist against white people when I am white?
Stop being so touchy. Here in the UK it is a very, very popular perception, the whole idiot american thing.
Its just what our media let us see.

completely incorrect use of the term

I stated that it is a term of abuse directed at white people- you wouldn't call a black person a redneck would you now- not sure what the word is for you, self hating, confused, those are some words I might get away with on the forum

I am from the UK, it isn't exactly a massively popular term, and regardless of it's popularity or not, it is specifcally aimed at people who are white- if you wanted to be arsey about it, most scientifc developments have eminated from peoples of European descent, so not only is it anti white it is also completely stupid to use the term in this instance

Lies, damn lies and statistics

but they seem to have misplaced the statistics

but not to worry, they seem to have kept the slightly modified results that proves their over exaggerated theories were right all along

I knew this was a scam the second the name changed from "Global warming" to "Climate change" and when a politician was involved, also loads of taxpayer dollars.

So easy to spot the lies when you know what to look for! It's humorous actually.

So the raw data that ought to be peer reviewed has been discarded...critical peer review is discouraged..."peer review" journals which publish critical articles are to be shunned...emails and data and anomalies contrary to AGW are to be deleted to avoid FOIA requests?

Seems pretty clear to me that the science is settled. The AGW crowd is thoroughly discredited. Man-caused global warming is total BS. The science is settled and there can be no further debate. End of story. No dissent allowed.

Unfair? Isn't that what we've been hearing from ALGORE (the inventor of the Internets) all this time? The science is settled...NO IT ISN'T!!!

Let the exposure begin!

Then can someone please explain to me why the polar regions are melting at such a fast rate if global warming doesn't exsist or is it just a bunch of guys with bunsen burners making the ice melt?
Have you personally seen melting polar ice? Those shots of polar bears floating away on ice floes, supposedly to their deaths? Check out where polar bears spend their summer vacations, making baby polar bears....... seriously, just google it. Surprise, it is solid land, it's ICE-FREE, lots of mud and GROWING vegetation. It has been that way for a long, long time.

What about the poor polar bears lol, won't someone think of them- bloody vicious animals and their numbers have been growing for some time, who would have thought it.......

GLOBAL WARMING UPDATE FROM BELFAST- FFFFFREEEEEEEEZING

I can now testify to the dangers of global warming personally.

Yesterday I was working outside and it had snowed the day before, during the day yesterday global warming melted the packed snow and by evening global warming caused global cooling and froze the melted slush into solid ice again, and when I unknowingly stepped on the ice I slipped and fell, and have a really sore tailbone and mild concussion.

That was my moment, I realized that man-made global warming was indeed real, dangerous and pure evil.

Actually, it is a term used by people who are racist against whites or who are sympathetic to races other than whites. A term that they use to insult those whites which they have little or no common culture, values, etc....

What they fail to realize however, is that the people who actually are "redneck", aren't the least bit offended by the label. Often, they are even proud to be "redneck".

Strangely it seems to be a popular misconception that only whites can be/are "redneck". While in reality "redneck" represents a large percentage of people worldwide. It is particularly applicable to people of agricultural society/culture.

Due to politics and early geography in U.S. history, the popular idea of "redneck" has become the southern, white, male, predominately agricultural, and of course racist.

Increasingly outside the U.S., the term is used to sterotype Americans in general, especially those who have an opposing philosophy.

I have personally known several blacks and met probably hundreds of Hispanics who fit the description (except the white part of course).

One day people will stop calling it racism and use a term more descriptive of what it actually is. Which is culturism.

Culturism is the new racism.

I think I am sympathetic to your overall view (if I understand it correctly)- however I have yet to hear the term "redneck" reserved for anyone other than whites

Even physically, the term would not apply to blacks

If you are not redneck, it's likely that you don't really understand what a redneck is, and wouldn't recognize one without the obvious stereotypical attributes. Only a redneck would call a black person "redneck". Everyone else would call him "old school" or "country" or something similar.

I believe the wiki for "redneck" is very accurate.

en.wikipedia.org...

And without meaning to offend, I also believe that only a "racist" would associate skin color with a "redneck".

Neither you or I speak for every "redneck"

I believe the wiki for "redneck" is very accurate.

That's how it is generally used, like I say, in most walks of life you won't get "redneck" thrown at a black person *regardless if whether a BONA FIDE REDNECK would or wouldn't use it who knows, neither of us speak for the millions of BONA FIDE rednecks*

It is a term used, MAINLY, by sneering whites and non whites against a culture perceived as European in origin (ie white) and of a backwards variety- completely bogus.

Whether you associate a "racist" with someone associating skin colour with a "redneck", that's how it is, your wiki link even states

"Redneck is a disparaging[1] term that refers to a person who is stereotypically Caucasian and of lower social-economic status"

QUite aside from it's racial origins of having a red neck caused by working in the sun (which obviously does not apply to blacks)

So regardless of whether some TRUE rednecks would or would not use the term towards a black person, it is a racially based term and it's racial origins and conotations cannot be removed

Hey don't get me wrong, I don't think you can always remove race from these things, if that makes me a racist, so be it

Again you are racially stereotyping these people based on skin color. The origin of the term "redneck" is debated, as there are alternative theories and usage that pre-dates the U.S.A. Anyway, it's use to label white southerners was initially a cultural reference. Today, it is increasingly being interchanged with the term racist. And is becoming equivalent to the "n-word" racial slur. The definition of the word isn't really important though, it is the intent with which it's delivered that matters.

Sure it can. If you ever learn to stop differentiating people on basis of race.

I agree, race is a factor in life that cannot be denied. And yes, I believe that makes us "racist" by definition. But not necessarily by action or intentionally.

In my opinion, the word that should be getting interchanged with current popular use of the word racist is "narcissist". Because that's when the word racist is usually invoked.... anytime someone who is of a different race is in disagreement with you.

The reality is it won't, it has historical racial connotations and continues to have those connotations to this day, that will not be eradicated regardless of our in depth discussions on a message board

Silly non-believing, science-hating, fundamentalist OP! We don't need science or data to tell us that Climate Change is real. We have a Tennessee politician with a BA/JD to do that for us! Better watch out, I might report you for being a holocaust-denying, climate criminal
