Of all the sinister things that Internet viruses do, this might be the worst: They can make you an unsuspecting collector of child pornography.Heinous pictures and videos can be deposited on computers by viruses — the malicious programs better known for swiping your credit card numbers. In this twist, it's your reputation that's stolen.

Pedophiles can exploit virus-infected PCs to remotely store and view their stash without fear they'll get caught. Pranksters or someone trying to frame you can tap viruses to make it appear that you surf illegal Web sites.

tech.yahoo.com...

Here's a warning!! This is just sick and everybody worried about getting a maleware or spyware virus should take a look at this and be glad if it's only tracking cookies that you get! This one makes me sick!

Scary to be honest, not just from a random hacker perspective but imagine if someone (government included) wanted to discredit or defame a dissident or an individual you just simply didn't like. I wonder how many people are suffering a great injustice yet few will stand up for them due to the nature of the crime itself.

For the past 20 minutes I've been reading threads about aliens, the world ending, nwo.. etc.

This is the one that made me gulp, scary as hell and to be honest I'd rather be framed for murder.

wow so now a supposed pedophile who stores pictures such as this have an excuse by saying a computer virus placed it there.

You don't even need viruses, just access. Wheter it's due to badly kept system or whatever reason once you got access you can upload/download anything. I do recall a case where a teacher was being blackmailed by students who threatened to set him up with child porn. He ended up killing himself.

I sympathise but run-of-the-mill pornography is a totally different kettle of fish to sexual abuse of a child, however upsetting it was to you.

That's the other side of the coin for sure, but I'm willing to bet that there are a significant amount of people who have been criminalised and ostracised thanks to malevolent individuals/organisations... I mean who wants to be seen helping a paedophile? It's one of the ultimate sins and probably one of the best ways to utterly destroy someone with little or no escape for the victim.

Yeah I was thinking that too.

From the same source the OP linked

An inspection for his defense revealed the laptop was severely infected. It was programmed to visit as many as 40 child porn sites per minute — an inhuman feat. While Fiola and his wife were out to dinner one night, someone logged on to the computer and porn flowed in for an hour and a half.

I'd like to know how these sites stay up and operational.

Edit: typo

So let me get this right

If Child Porn is so bad what does that make the adult porn then?

from what i heard all the so called porn actors in adult industry are paid to have but in the videos the adults victims are been abused and heck in most cases they are crying in pain just like kids do in child porn,

I dont understand why the Feds or Interpol is wasting time and money
helping those kids from there abusers most of there efforts will be nonsense because 90% of the time those rescued kids will go out in the streets and do it all over again.

Just so you know child porn was a business back in the 60s,70s,80s before the governments claimed its a crime shouldn't they say adult porn is also a crime?

Well what do you think?
if you ask me both porno are a crime

Wouldn't the police be able to see that it's come from somewhere else?

Not a one liner.
DEFINITELY.. Not a one liner.

yeah you wouldnt be able to claim it was a virus ... there would be evidence of everything ... when those sites were accessed, How they were accessed... but then again most techs would find the porn and leave it at that... this is probably one of the few times they found the virus before the porn

Pedophiles have been threatening to flood computers with hidden child porn through a virus for years.
There plan is for judges and cops to start finding it on there personal computers and not know how or where it came from and then start believing that it can be put on anyones computer. And yes if that started to happen it would be a good defense.

The only thing that surprises me is that it took so long to setup a child porn bot net.

Another thing is someone could put photos on your computer without using a virus.
One way would be to set up a site to give out open source programs and piggyback photos on the open source program or on updates for the program.
By sending the photos with the open source program then at the end of the download putting a couple lines of code to change the file extension for the photos from a photo/graphics extension to a say VBX extension.
when you delete a program all your computer does is remove the extensions stopping the program from working and allowing the files to be overwritten.
Then the photo will be there but the computer owner will not be able to open it with knowing where the file is and changing the extension back to a open able file extension.
This also could be piggybacked on torrents by people that start torrents say on pirate bay.

What i would like to know is how to find out if someone has hid something on me computer without my knowing it and i don't mean just kiddy porn but other things that might get the cops on my case about.

Well there is nothing to worry about really. If the cops can get all the contents of a hard drive that has been formatted im sure they can tell what was put there and what was looked for.
The cops really go after people who make and trade it because those people have collections and there is a profile that the pedos fall under. It would be like me mailing you an once of coc aine and calling the cops to have you arrested for posession once you checked your mail.
The only people who will be prosocuted as a result of this are the people who keep the photos that get storred on their computer and or do not report it. So if this happens to you or someone you know just call the cops and you will be fine.

That's my understanding. When someone is accused of this it isn't just a matter of looking in your files or on the hard drive to see what is stored there. If I can find the article I'll post it, but it was just as being talked about here, authorities did a forensic analysis and then determined that the photos were stored maliciously by an outside agent. They were able to determine this by following the things like keystrokes, and loading.

Someone said there was nothing to worry about, that the police could tell if the images were put there by a malicious program. I do not believe that for an instant.

So lock up your computer and NEVER let anyone else use it because what happens if your friend or your teenager or anyone else who has access to your computer visits a porn site and an underage image or two finds its way into your temporary internet files??

Everyone has gone apesh*t crazy about prosecuting people who are found to have underage images on their computer and fact is they could get there a lot of ways and you be totally innocent.

They need to concentrate on finding and prosecuting people who are making and selling child porn. I wonder how many totally innocent people will have their life destroyed before some common sense prevails??

After seeing this story it scares the hell out of me to travel with my computer since I could obviously be prosecuted for anything on it even if I had no knowledge it was there or any part in putting it there. Fact is your computer is YOURS only until the first time you access the internet...then it belongs to the world.

1) Why have you even watched child porn - you seem to know that all the children in it cry

2) You seem to have questionable tastes in adult porn
3) Adults can consent to be in porn, apparently high pay for not to much work, whereas a child would not be able to consent.

There is nothing to worry about and you kind of say why.

See if someone else besides you has access to your computer you would get off. That is what they call in court resonable doubt. So like i said there is nothing to worry about.

EXACTLY what i was thinking. also, if you wanted to justify another Holocaust to the masses, framing thousands of people of child molestation unfortunately might work.
