Anyways I hope we don't get involved in this... Is the US still trying to overthrow him... what's the deal?

I'll tell you what the deal is: Venezuela has oil.

That's the deal.

it's sad to see these self named "Leaders" calling the people to war...while they hide in a cave, shaking full of fear (Hitler, Saddam Hussein, etc.)

People should rise against this kind of persons and let them know they have no interest in war and watch their homeland being ripped apart. If they want to be involved in a war they should pick a rifle and go in front but as we know... they won't.

To declare war on US it's not a funny thing to do...the history has proved it.

I think you misunderstand Chavez. He is not asking people to wage war, he is telling them to be prepared for an attack by the USA. Whether or not that attack takes place is not entirely up to Chavez.

Plenty of people say things like "imperial" when talking about the US. I'll post this e-mail that I have. It is intresting. This is only a small part of the message, U2U me if you would like to full text, it is a tad on the patriotic side, but has a clear point.

When in England , at a fairly large conference, Colin Powell was asked by the Archbishop of Canterbury if our plans for Iraq were just an example of empire building by George Bush. He answered by saying, 'Over the years, the United States has sent many of its fine young men and women into great peril to fight for freedom beyond our borders. The only amount of land we have ever asked for in return is enough to bury those that did not return' You could have heard a pin drop.

There was a conference in France where a number of international engineers were taking part, including French and American.During a
break, one of the French engineers came back into the room saying 'Have you heard the latest dumb stunt Bush has done? He has sent an aircraft carrier to Indonesia to help the tsunami victims. What does he intended to do, bomb them?'

A Boeing engineer stood up and replied quietly: 'Our carriers have three hospitals on board that can treat several hundred people; they
are nuclear powered and can supply emergency electrical power to shore facilities; they have three cafeterias with the capacity to feed 3,000
people three meals a day, they can produce several thousand gallons
of fresh water from sea water each day, and they carry half a dozen
helicopters for use in transporting victims and injured to and from their
flight deck. We have eleven such ships; how many does France have?' The answer is one by the way.

I thought that the above illistrates what the US really does, not what people with too much time think we do.

I hope everybody sees that this is classic fascist strongman behavior. Trump up preparations of war and accuse the outsiders of being the enemy to deflect any criticism of the regime at home to the foreigners. Pretty soon all the ills of the Venezuelan economy will be the fault of Colombia and the Americans. Next is takeover of the press because of "foreign infiltration", ramping up a secret police force, etc. This is really plain as day.

This is the same tactic Arab dictators use - blame everything on Israel and the US to deflect any criticism of their foundering and corrupt economies.

Mark my words: within 15 years the US will be in charge of producing most of the worlds oil or it will be dead. Given that our military is the strongest one in the world, US won't be dead. You can bet that pretext after pretext will be found to invade every major oil producer. Mexico may be the only exception, they may decide to collaborate with just political coercion.

Have you realized that this Hugo's speech is the same speech Fidel Castro has used for decades?

This behavior is nothing new here in South America and the Caribbean.

We are used to Dictators through the history, and all of them has taken us to disgrace.

Do you think it's funny to live Cuba? it's not!

If you as a "leader" achieve people to fight "eye blinded" and to do as you say no matter what...then you'll have the total control of the country...and this is what is all about, MIND CONTROL = COUNTRY CONTROL = POWER.

why do you think Chavez closed all the Radio and TV stations in Venezuela that had a different point of view that his?

People in Venezuela are not attacked and won't be...but as North Korea, MIND CONTROL is used to seed HATE and FEAR on people minds...and by being brain washed as North Korean people...the people of Venezuela will see Chavez as a SAVIOR...when he's not.

The same happened in Cuba, and Bolivia, Dominican Republic, Argentina, Germany, etc, etc, etc...we, the latin people, know better than that...we've heard this song before.

Coca and Oil are all around the world, not exclusively in Venezuela.

first of all i think Chavez call on "war" is just a strategic moove and he has surely a very very good reason for it. We need to have our eyes on the situation.

Second: i really dont think the US is able to be involved in infinite number of wars, eventuelly it will be too much and the american population will suffer a lot on home soil. The US has a large population of latinamericans..the day latinos arabs and asians get together to do some bad damage it will hurt a lot.
Dont think i wish for war, or suffering on the american people, but you guys are used to make wars all over the earth and this can not go on for ever. In this thread alone we have a few willing to suport an invasion on another sovereign country. You see, it takes almost nothing to send your brothers sisters sons and daughters to slaughter and murder!
To those who love to threat with your advanced weapons..what harm have Chavez or any Venezuelan ever done to you? What threat does Chavez inply to american life? YOU are the ones living in a prison, in slavery opressed, YOU are living the big lie, YOU are the big banks pimps!

This is about oil, pure and simple. You are told Chavez is 'evil' and you buy it hook, line & sinker. You were told the same about Saddam Hussein. (I'm not saying Saddam was a nice guy, just that you were given false information to justify a war that was really about oil) and now the same thing is happening again you're buying the same lies!

Let's be honest here.

Columbia supplies drugs to the world, causing misery, illness & death. Venezuela goes a bit socialist. Which of these two truths has the bigger impact on the actual lives of the American individual?

Oh yeah, Venezuela is definitely the enemy...

Well said, and pretty much what I was going to write. Just to back that up, and give a different viewpoint of Venezuela for those who have eaten up the anti-Chavez swill that passes for news media in America, here's a link to a fantastic John Pilger documentary on the subject. Please check it out, American chums...

THE WAR ON DEMOCRACY

War is a way out of economic chaos. Perhaps a way out with a new global currency is the aim?

The chess pieces for a global conflict resulting in world government are being put in place. Africom, troops in South America, troops all over the globe. Adding a little spice with civil strife/war/resistance/hunger in the US might be in the recipe as well.

Certainly it is a productive way to transfer the last remainders of wealth out of the US by running the "Fed's" printing presses non-stop and laundering the fiat cash through the military industrial complex and into the hands of the globalists. As General Butler said, "War is a racket."

Lots of unemployed youth and older in the US that could find their only solace to lack of employment to be the US military. This would create a virtually endless pool of bodies to throw into the unconstitutional wars being waged around the globe in the name of our faded Republic.

If someone lights a match, it's ready to blow.

Perfectly stated! We do owe it to our sovereign selves, and yes, such a thing exists, to stand and become the changes we wish to see. It is not without consequence that the world has evolved to the monstrous entity is is today.

We all have allowed ourselves the deviant luxury of turning blind eyes to the atrocities and inhumanities inflicted upon others by the "benevolent leaders". In the end, too many are want to succeed at the financial and mortal expense of others. We do have the eyes to see the tragedies unfolding before us. . .and we have the will become the change. For to MAKE the change, we MUST become the change.

Sew an unknown seed for an unknown crop, sew a seed of hope to grow hope. We have been told that humans are the top of the food chain yet we coalesce to a state beneath any other animal kingdom. Yes, we have mastered great tools, but the "greatest" tools these people use is the uninhibited ability to either kill, or cause to be killed, their fellow humans by ways of financial oppression. Families lose their homes, livelihoods, their jobs, etc. . .with no recourse. The governments of the world have ensured that you can not hunt to live, you can not provide basic needs for your families unless you are employed. . .even if you have and operate your business, you are employed. There was a time when all of the technological "advances" did not exist, and we lived on the work of our hands, on our own lands, and if you hunted your food. . . YOU provided for you family.

It's time for us to realize that no monster down the dark hall or hiding in our closet should be feared more than those in a position of power. I would greatly welcome my childhood fears when compared to the fears instilled by the "leaders" of the world.

I would not want to see a rogue planet, star, brown dwarf, ETC, come and just destroy the world. . .but. . .would it be so bad to live the way we used to? We are told we NEED various utilities to live. . .we do because this is how the world works. If we are forced into a so-called "dark age", then we EVOLVE into working and close-knit communities again. . .into real providers.

Change the world. . .live as though Nibiru is real, and coming. If it is, will worrying about it change it? We are the people. . .and we must know this, for we are for whom THEY work. Demand change! Defy your inhibitions! Our lives are worth fighting for. . .and if we die trying. . .it is not in vain!

Oppress none! Kill none! Accept none other than the basic and unadulterated truth each of you know in your heart of hearts to be the ONE and ONLY truth! We exist for a purpose. . .and we owe it to the whole of our existence to perform your task. They want us believe that life is a privilege!

Fire begets fire! Fire Destroys Fire! YOU are the Mad Hatter, You are Alice, you ARE the white rabbit! YOU are the change! Stop waiting for the right person with the nerve to lead the march, to yell at buildings with megaphones, to revolt. You are the revolt! If you weren't. . .you would not have read to the very end of this post.

To learn more about this situation it's fair to learn about economic hitmen.

It is interesting how this system has continued pretty much the same way for years and years and years, except the economic hit men are getting better and better.
In 1998 Hugo Chavez gets elected president, following a long line of presidents who had been very corrupt, and basically destroyed the economy of the country.Chavez was elected amidst all that. Chavez stood up to the United States, and he has done it primarily demanding that Venezuelan oil be used to help the Venezuelan people. The US didn't like that so, in 2002 a riot was staged, which, there`s no question in most of people's minds that the CIA was behind that coup. The way that that coup was fomented was very reflective of what Kermit Roosevelt had done in Iran, of paying people to go out into the streets to riot, to protest, to say this Chavez is very unpopular. If one can get a few thousand people to do that, television can make it look like its the whole country, and things start to mushroom. Except in the case of Chavez, he was smart enough and the people were so strongly behind him that they overcame it which was a phenomenal moment in the history of Latin America.

Since that attempted coup in 2002, he has completely lost his mind though...

Do you think WE live in prison?
why don't you tell that to the CUBAN PEOPLE?
they can not get out of their country if not allowed first by DICTATOR'S people, and those out side, can't go back to see his family...many of the CUBAN PEOPLE don't even have access to internet and the privilege to say what they think AS YOU DO...a couple of month ago, a person went to jail in Cuba just because he said in a video that he was hungry...that's freedom doesn't it?

Most of persons that live in the US, live there because they have more freedom and opportunities in their lives there compared to what they had in their countries.

why to live in a country that it's worse and yours?
would you like to live in HAITI better than your country?

I concur. There has been a lot of dissatisfaction within Venezuela about Chavez and his leadership. Crime is way up and no improvements have ever been made with reference to the impoverished majority of this nation.

He is simply trying to divert attention away from the failure of his leftist government and his own incompetency as its leader!

Can we leave the word "leftist" out of it?? He failed. Period. Not because he has a leftist or a rightwing government. His policies (after the 2002 coup), arrogance and paranoia has caused him to fail the people of his country who beforehand had suffered under elitist, pro-U.S. governments, who did nothing for the poor Venezuelans.

It's nice to see someone has actually read around this subject and knows a little about what's happening. Thankyou Bandit.

I really wish all of you "America, F%$k Yeah!" World Police types would just be quiet. You're all banging on about bombing Venezuela, about left and right, you don't have a clue about what you're talking about.

Chavez has indeed lost his mind somewhat after Economic Hitmen went in and did their thing. He has survived assassination attempts, and watched his closest allies suffer the same treatment. He is PARANOID, with good reason. Especially with the MORONS shouting that he is destroying his own country and raping their oil supplies etc. I smell government disinfo campaign agents.

I've seen only a few level headed posts in this thread, most posts have been made by people I would consider 'Agent Provocateurs'. I think a lot of you need to go and blow something up in your garden and get it out of your system. You don't discuss facts, or even try and debate sensibly, you sit there and type hate speech at your computer about a subject of which you know very little.

As for the 'person' who 'critiqued' my last post - you need loosen your sphincter a little man.

The Para.

This illustrates that we spend billions of dollars to ensure we have a place to outsource American jobs to instead of using those carriers to help out Lousiana during Hurricane Katrina. We rock.

With Bush, he campained for Peace in 2000, then in 2001 we were "attacked" and he went to war.

With Obama, he campained to bring the troops home that a warmonger deployed, but he instead sent more without us being attacked again.

hmm...

Guys come on, if Mexico and Canada started leasing their military bases to Iran, China, Russia, or North Korea, I would hope that Obama would warn us and tell us all to prepare incase they try to invade. Whether you agree with Chavez or not, he is just trying to protect his people in case SOMEONE ELSE invades their country. That's all.

Too bad this will probably gets tons of MSM attention and it will be spun to sound like they are decaring war on us.

And touche to that guy that mentioned Cuba attacking the US with Mexican hijackers so we invade Venezuela to remove the WMD. Too funny.

I interpret this whole conflict rather differently. If anyone hasn't forgot yet that Venezuala doesn't play nice with the whole World Monopoly Game. The U.S. and OPEC have wanted Chavez dead so they could control the price escalation better against Americans. Remember when the word 'War' gets thrown around its really about MONEY MONEY MONEY! What better way to do that then by OPEC cancelling oil futures contracts with all Texas Holdings and then have a puppet in the seat of the world's fourth largest oil distributor. So the U.S. has headed deals with Columbia so that we can place troops and superior monitoring technologies in Chavez's backyard. LOL! Now its only a matter of time til they track him down just like they did Saddam and replace him with someone who will play nice. It's all about the control of you and me in the end. Some people just have a hard time realizing that Chavez is just another victim of the NWO. Truthfully we are seeing a complete power grab in U.S. Government. I actually think we might have been purchased by the Islamic Trust already and that its only a matter of time before we see more Islamic/Arab descended individuals running state offices. But anyway you look at it we are so asleep its not even funny, we went from Islamic Terrorism just 8 years ago being the greatest threat to Islamic Senators running the U.S. presidency and who contributed 1.5 billion dollars to Obama's campaign oh yeah the Islamic Trust. LOL! only a matter of time before UFO disclosure(big phony lie) and some guy who will come down from somewhere(A descendent of the sons of disobedience) promises the world a great answer. And then people either side with Jesus Christ or get chipped.
