Is it just me or is ATS most of the time only interested in American things, such as UFO/ET disclosure in America, although most countries admit aliens exist it only matter if America does it, global meltdown is only for Americans, NWO is just for americans despite its a New WORLD Order.

Yeh we get the slight thing from the UK or Europe (rarely) but in the mean time everythings going down in the good ole U.S of A.
Yes i know the majority of ATS'ers are American but it think it will be a welcome change to mention more countries, for example what are the NWO doing in other countries, where are these other so called "extermination camps" and coffins etc etc

We have the internet and google wants more to search that just "American politics"

Or

"obama is a kenyan"

IF you get my drift, there are probaly 100's of UFO sightings and other interesting stories but we have missed them because we just look at the big countries.

End Rant

Heck, if someone... you or anyone wants to post stuff relating to other countries, please feel free. Speaking for myself, I have no problems with that. The more the merrier.

But that being said, I am not going to get sweaty palms for posting about issues I know and like. If they happen to be based in the US, then that's just life.

Such nationalist bigotry seems entirely counterproductive.

Then bring for discussion something that is not American based.

I have posted stories from other countries... they slipped by mostly unnoticed...

Truth Commission on Amazon massacre established
www.abovetopsecret.com...

and this story about how the Mexican Army forcibly took over a power plant...
www.abovetopsecret.com...

What I thought of as provocative news... people just didn't care so I don't do it that often

If I could give you a star, I would

OP, instead of complaining... bring in some news. I'm sure any American concerned with NWO or anything like that would be interested to hear about how it's changing another country.

Guessing that most of the people that are on here are American, I guess it would tip the balance in favour of US issues, I'm English if it matters.

I do get a little bored of all the Obama threads, but I don't read them. I tend to personally post stuff that's not really related to geographical areas as I find it more inclusive.

I can certainly see where you are coming from Haydn_17 and in some respects you have answered your own question. The majority of members are American so I guess we have to expect a bias and of course, Obama is there president so we shoud expect them to comment.

One attempt to broaden things was The Above Politics Show which had a host from the US and the UK but that seems to have died. I did hear it was mainly started to focus on the US elections but guess what, there are elections around the world.

And was there a serious attempt to find a non American to host the new ATS news show? I guess not.

Haydn_17, it seems we have to accept the US bias as part and parcel of being on ATS.

I would agree with DaddyBare that many non US stories do not get the attention they should and this again shows what the members of ATS are interested in. Until there are more non US members posting on ATS, us non US members will have the accept that this site will be US focussed.

If we want to change the focus, we need to promote ATS in our own countries and encourage people to join up and contribute.

But hey, how many non US members take the time to flag and star threads that deal with subjects outside of the US, or comment?

I have a podcast about the Irish vote on the LIsbon treaty. Not one reply so we guess we also have ourselves to blame.

The userbase is predominantly American. So what else do you expect? People tend to talk about what is around them or within their frame of reference. Rather like the reason you wish we'd talk more about the outside world since you are in what is the outside world to us.

ATS is also too alien, too 9/11, too many silly conspiracies, too entertaining, too addictive, too Canadian, too Australian, too European, too political, too controversial, too crazy, too sane, ATS is...

...whatever you want it to be!

Obviously a lot of users on this site are American and i have no problem with that.

The only slight annoyance i have is when an American member creates a thread and they will mention a location in the thread, without mentioning it's in the USA. Obviously if it's Washington D.C or San Francisco for example i'll know, but otherwise i wish they'd say that it's the USA. If somebody mentions Georgia in a thread title i think of the country and the U.S state second.

A similar thing happens but instead of place names they just put the state abbreviation. If i am not from the USA i don't know what state you're talking about.

Thank you for re-posting these threads... I did not see them (originally) but am very interested.

If it makes you feel any better I think of the state first and the country second. Just how it works depending on whether you're from the US or not I think.

______

Back to the OP, I'm all for more threads on the rest of the world. Americans get accused of living in bubbles and ignoring the rest of the world, but the members here from the rest of the world don't really post anything about other countries either. Unless it's about war or potential wars, you'll know about other goings on before we do most of the time. Can't really blame the Americans for not posting something if you don't either.

I like your post

my third line is just after my second line which is after my first line, so if you notice this notice you will notice that this notice is not worth noticing.

Mod edit - posting gibberish is not a way to avoid the one line rule. Please post something more substantial next time

Too American?

Nah.

Whether we like it or not, because of the size, complexity and far reaching (in foreign policy) terms of the USA, we're very much in the middle of pax americana at this present time, hence the appearance that the site is predominently home to American topics.

Fact is, the paranormal, UFO and conspoiracy world is alive and well all over the planet. We just need to spread "the word" out there

We all get trapped in our own little bubbles. Its just a case of seeing the big picture.

That is why I posted this message

www.abovetopsecret.com...

I didn't want to be as blatant as the OP by starting a thread.
I did think that I should post more other stuff, but they just seem to get lost in the Obama / Israel hate threads.

I wanted to post lots about UK politics but I wasn't sure where to post them. So I asked the question in the forum of "Board Business & Questions"; you can see all the replies here

Politics Forums

How long before this thread ends up like this one?

Too much anti U.S sentiment and "anti" period
