2012 Mass Delusion

If I may paraphrase the late, great George Carlin in a poignant metaphor: "While your busy worrying about the quiet one, the noisy one will come up behind and kill you."
Meaning: 2012 is a date, there once was a calendar that ended on a certain date in that year.
While your busy preparing for "that," the world is going to hell in a handbasket because of "real world" problems that you COULD ACTUALLY DO SOMETHING ABOUT.
sorry to yell, but criminy! If you want to prepare for something, prepare to make the world a better place.

but i'm willing to hear more about the 'Caesar Comet' orbiting every long period years (est ~1,025) being the cosmic harbinger of always present disaster, making a return in 2012.

I kind of bought into the whole 2012 thing at one time to,but as you pointed out there have been 100's of doomsdays predictions.Everytime one comes and gos a new one is made,with a new story behind it.Hence 2012 being the mayan calender.

I even read the article you linked but did not find any indicator that this comet would be any different than hundreds of others.

I spent some time along the shores of Lake Atitlan in the Guatemalan mountains two years ago this week. I spent some time with a Mayan Shaman. I asked him about 2012. He didn't speak English nor Spanish. I had to speak to him through his apprentice.

He stated that to the Mayans it is the dawn of a new, higher consciousness not the end of the world. All these books, movies and tv shows have no idea what they are talking about...

You could be right we really won't know about Dec. 21, 2012 until Dec. 21, 2012

BUT

weather something major happens on this date or not to me isn't the issue the issue for me is knowing why I was sent here.

I have no doubt that an event is going to happen that was to be an extinction event. Our families from the skies are here and trying to lesson the blow.

Many of us have been sent here to help when this time comes and as time passes abductees that agreed to come here to help will wake.

Not sure if someone already posted this because I didn't read every reply...
The Mayan calendar doesn't put Dec 21st 2012 as the end of the world. The calendar ends its cycle on that date, but when they were around, that date didn't exist. Their calendar is in alignment with the stars and constellations. They're saying everything will be aligned on that date, then the new cycle begins.
