Oh I know!

I'm just hopelessly trying to get all of you absolutely idiotic humans, Of every race and color, that in reality your no different than dogs shoved in a cage at the dog fights.

But hey where there is a will there is plenty of money to be made.

Me I'm usually more preoccupied with biting the hand that feeds me.

This website is becoming more and more like stormfront by the day. I can't believe someone said "look at africa". The time is coming soon for a lot of you white supremacist who like your ancestors have terrorized all across the globe. I don't think this is it tho so breathe a sigh of relief.

News flash: affirmative action helps white women the most. So that black or hispanic guy that was promoted before you was more than likely better at the job than you were. Sorry to break it to you.

Just reading your OP....

This is a sad example of the state of humans as a whole.

Let's not focus on intelligence and who has experience...

Let's focus on being sure we have some reps from the various ethnicities in these positions so people don't start whining.

Oh, and before I get the inevitable "You was talking about da whites..." No. If you're purple and you pas the tests and get the experience, go do the damned job. I'm sick of Americans being so damned soft. OoooOOOooo..... so out of a class of 30 people, the top 10% were this ethnicity or that ethnicity..... SO what? Maybe if you spent more time studying and preparing yourself for life, you wouldn't face these challenges.

I'm sick of catering to whiners. Grow the hell up. If you are not qualified for the job, I don't care what color you are - get the HELL out of there and let someone who can do it take over. Stop your sniffling.

Sad.

Keep in mind that what Mr. Lloyd has said is his opinion, and shouldn't be construed to represent any group. We also lack the context in which some of the smaller quotes were stated, as anyone who actually read the link might discover.

Let us keep our eye on the ball, and not be distracted by contrived skin-tone divisions. What are we being distracted from? Are we being encouraged to asess the longitude of melanin and lattitude of gender preference that a person has and assign it a value? Perhaps, however I think the goal is more furtive. I think as long as the U.S. citizens perceive that they are divided, they might tend more toward battling among themselves rather than against those who might degrade the Constitution further. The Bush administration did it, and the Obama administration is doing it.

Maybe what we as a species need is a good predator.

We already have it... People with an IQ below 100.
But the world is not getting any smarter, so you have to make stupidity work for YOU! I am becoming a master of that.

Oh, we need more affirmative action hiring alright. I went to the DMV
yesterday and out of 17 employees working there 1 was white, the rest
were black. Does this make me a racist for paying attention? Some
people might say so..Whatever. Despite going to public school I still
managed to learn basic math skills, don't chastise me for using them.

This is no surprise to me. These people are still angry about things that happened years ago. They need to get the heck over it. No of us were alive back then, we didn't play a hand in anything that happened. Yet, white people are still held acountable for what was done to blacks, by blacks back then. I am sorry but MOVE ON!!!!!! You can only use the "pooooooor meeeee" line so long. Well, that time has passed. People need to be responsible for themselves instead of expecting a hand out. You want a job, then do what you have to do to get it! Period! Nobody should have to step down that is just outright RACIST! But of course, when its something like this its not considered racist, although if it was the other way around it would be. this double standard is out of hand.

just remember, the people who are hired as a result of equal opportunity, are not the problem. they are just taking advantage of getting a job when they need a job. it's just survival. don't assume the people working there are doing so because they are racists. when equal opportunity came out, i was offered a job working in a nearby factory so that they could reach their quota of females, since the area didn't have other minority groups. thing is, i didn't take the job because i didn't want a man to have it, i took it because my dad was dying of cancer and could no longer work. my mom was struggling trying to support us both. so i became my dad's proxy at work, which made the last days of his life more comfortable and removed the pressure from my mom, who was already nearly 60 at the time. it truly was not an attempt to rob others of a job based on their gender.

First of all the civil rights movement was in the 60s so there are plenty of people still around who experienced it. Secondly, you have no right how to tell people how to feel about something that is a part of their history and that still affects them today. I have no clue why you are angry, possibly because you have a one track mind that sees everyone as asking for sympathy about what happened back then because thats how you operate. No, its not about that. Its about acknowledging history so that we dont make the same mistakes, about realizing that there are power structures at work in this society. Honestly, I realized a long time ago that race is something we are taught to pay attention to in order to be divided as a society, however that does not change that fact that prejudice does exist or that people are affected by it. Not just black people, anyone who is not a white heterosexual male.

To base hiring practices on color, creed, etc., etc. is against the law, is it not?

Unfortunately that is not the case.

"Affirmative Action": Intentional inclusion of women and minorities in the workplace based on a finding of their previous exclusion and/or underrepresentation" From Text "Employment Law for Business"

I know of a case where a local small employer never bothered to advertise for new opening. Some one already working always knew of some one wanting the job. He had a group of almost entirely made up of Hispanic AND WAS FOUND GUILTY of discrimination because He did not have the "proper mix" The government looks at the proportions of different minorities in the area and as a businessman you better have a similar "mix ratio" in those you employ.

As a hiring manager it is a royal pain in the Donkey because you can not always find well qualified in the right "mix"

If you want to get hired be a well educated female black/native America/ Latino under the age of thirty five.

Although their is a separate law covering "Age discrimination" it is more to protect the Employer from lawsuits than to help us old folks. That is why you see PhDs over forty five chasing grocery carts at WallyMart

I would be a LOT happier if they included those of us who got shoved out the door at forty five in the description of "discriminated against"

What a Joke...

Heres a novel idea, maybe, we should give the job to the person who is best for that position. Regardless of race of gender preference.

Peace

I don't suppose anyone researched this further to find out what Lloyd ACTUALLY said (four years ago)... Notice that the OP has "white people" and "step down" in quotes... because, to have the desired effect, those are the only words of Lloyd's quotes that they CAN put in quotes.

Yes, Mark Lloyd DID utter those two phrases. But not like the OP states. Here's more of the story (as if anyone cares):

The self proclaimed far Right media watchdog blog Newsbusters has found yet another SHOCKING story, FCC’s Diversity Czar: ‘White People’ Need to be Forced to ‘Step Down’ ‘So Someone Else Can Have Power’ in which they do provide the full quote. Which does not support the headline unless one is inclined to discombobulate what someone says into partisan spin,
...
"Because we have really, truly good white people in important positions. And the fact of the matter is that there are a limited number of those positions. And unless we are conscious of the need to have more people of color, gays, other people in those positions we will not change the problem.

We're in a position where you have to say who is going to step down so someone else can have power?

Source

And then, the recording is promptly cut off so we can't hear what he said right after that.

I know it's not going to make a difference to some of you, but hopefully, those who really want the truth instead of a which hunt, will appreciate it.

Genetically race doesn't exist. The differences in our skins and facial features are an evolutionary survival reaction. For example skin color to protect us from the sun in Africa vs a paler skin in Europeans to take in as much vitamin D. It's an archaic view from century's ago that even keep this concept alive.

There is only one Human Race and as soon as everyone get this in their heads one of humanity's problems will be solved. Unfortunately this will take centuries.

Look at Africa people!

I would like to add Africa has purposely been kept from advancing. I could write a book on the subject. Suffice to say Rockefeller's "Green Revolution" USAID, the UN, the Global Biodiversity Treaty ,the World Trade Organization Agreement on Agriculture, EU and USA farmer price supports and most important the World Bank/IMF SAPs were all designed to bankrupt third world farmers and their countries: to push them into bankruptcy where the transnational Corporations got the land and the Central Bankers got control of the government through SAPs.

OBAMA sold the Africans down the river with his "Global Poverty Act" essentially it interfers with the livelihoods of the local farmers. American/EU grown grain sold under production cost thanks to our tax dollars, drives out local produce. For another example one guy cursed out the "heifer program" because to get the American cow he had to kill all his native cattle, the American calf was not a good genetic "match" for that environment and of course died.... The stories go on and on.

The U.N.-appointed Independent Inquiry Committee (IIC), as well as several Congressional investigations, documented a huge amount of evidence involving more than 2,200 companies in 66 countries as well as a number of prominent international politicians. The reports painted an ugly tableau of bribery, corruption, and fraud on a global scale.... www.iic-offp.org...

The book was to be dedicated to the presidents of two countries, men who had been his clients whom I respected and thought of as kindred spirits – Jaime Rolds, president of Ecuador, and Omar Torrijos, president of Panama. Both had just died in fiery crashes. Their deaths were not accidental. They were assassinated because they opposed that fraternity of corporate, government, and banking heads whose goal is global empire. We Economic Hit Men failed to bring Rolds and Torrijos around, and the other type of hit men, the CIA-sanctioned jackals who were always right behind us, stepped in.

Q. How closely did you work with the World Bank?

JOHN PERKINS: Very, very closely with the World Bank. The World Bank provides most of the money that’s used by economic hit men, it and the I.M.F.

positive discrimination will not and cannot work. Having said that.

any body of governance can represent the people it serves be they state or corporate.

I think that is the general gist of it.

for instance, if you have a gov committee or task force on dealing with inner city crime, then that task force should represent the area and population it deals with in the department of who's face is on it.

why would you have a white anglo saxon protestant suggesting legislation for areas where there are NO people of white anglo saxon protestant background?

Let's not forget that North America, especially Canada and the USA are two of the only truly diverse and integrated countries on the planet.

you do not see demography like these places anywhere else in the world with only small pockets of similarity in european countries.

people relate to and listen to people like themselves more readily. That is a fact. We seek out a partner based on who is most like us or a member of our family. we seek out community with people who are most like us as individuals.

diversity is pretty new still. When I was a kid, my neighborhood was predominantly white. But then immigration policies were enacted and throughout the 70's there was a large influx of asians, south asians and indians into the country. Now, these people have first gen kids here as well and have started to move into the society at levels of government and business leaders.

In the end, the integrated diverse society will be the most powerful simply because it understands the world around it best.
closed tribal societies, will fail, as they always do, economically and educationally, the more closed a society is, the greater it's failure on the world stage.

I don't get it.
South Africa booted out whites in posiitions of authority and replaced them with blacks as they were the majority. Fair enough. The world agreed and even applauded.

Now on the other side of the pond, we now get told that whites should step aside where the majority is white?

Anyone else see a weird agenda emerging here?

And I'm just wondering if this comment by Lloyd is just an extension of the comment that "whites must do what right" that was said at the inauguration.
Is that what was meant by that comment?

Ok, that does it. Next time someone calls me a white guy, I am going to sue! I am from here on to be called Dutch/German American.

ROTFL

I list myself as [other because grand-dad was from Lebannon. A friend lists herself as Swedish (1/4) and makes Obama look REAL white in comparision. If All of us would check the OTHER box and list AMERICAN we could drive the bureaucrats NUTS!!!

I would REALLY like to see that sweep through this nation to prove to the DC crooks we are not falling for the divide and conquer bit.

No they proudly call themselves White Americans!

WRONG, I am an old foggy and I call myself American, unless it is to thumb my nose at the bureaucrats. But you are correct it is the non-whites who seem to make a big deal of the issue and act in a racist manner. Racism is also seen more in the northern Cities like Boston MA than here in the south.
