Census worker hanged with 'Fed" on his body

Well, quite the number of replies from people that do not like my take on the situation. Of making sense of a senseless act...oddly enough the ones that lash out the most seem to have the least reading comprehension.

Nowhere have I praised this act. In fact I have condemned it. I don't condone further acts along these lines. I don't advocate their position. I just understand what they are trying to say and why they are saying it.

Think of yourself as a survivalist for a moment. Hunting game, fishing and living off the land. It is a nice thought that many people wish they could do if they were not tied down to modern society, job, debt...etc. But think about how you work hard but you get by living off the sweat of your brow.

One day a well dressed man comes up to you and offers you a job making more money than you or anyone you know have seen. Off you go to this factory that was placed where your game lived so there will be no more hunting, the run off from the factory poisons the creek where you once fished. At the end of the day you have no time for your garden or even the will to work on it after spending all day working. So now you buy your food and those riches that were offered are quite diminished from your hands.

People that were happy until they were "helped" and every time someone comes around they want to "help" them some more. How long does this take before it becomes old. How long will you endure until you say no more. So finally you say it....and no one listens. Just more "helpers" come and place you farther away from how you want to be.

Several posts have suggested that I am wrong for saying that the FBI should just let it go and not walk in like the cock of the walk. I know that doing so will only make things worse. It will result in more deaths on both sides and maybe even among those not involved at all.

Some people think I am a heartless bastard because I do not mourn the dead. Those that know me well know that is not the reason I am a heartless bastard. In this thread I talk about a 22 year old girl, that recently graduatated from college. She had to work in a coffee shop because there were no jobs. As of this posting, there are 2 flags and 2 stars and only one reply of well wishes because I also mentioned that I have had a cold recently that is hanging on. She died after contracting swine-flu. This 51 year old man died as the result of a spectacular murder.

In both cases it is a tragic loss of life. For one it was disingenuous death in a lifetime of hardship. For the other, it was a disturbing statistic for a life that had just begun. Those with true sympathies and have researched a bit, will realize that both of those statements hold true for both of them.

Question is, which death holds more attention for you personally and why is that? And people wonder why other people stare at train wrecks and car accidents.

You should be worried. Seems like theres alot of people out there that can't wait to use their shiny new guns and play Mad Max. "Humongous rules the wasteland".

The people there are too busy scratching a living for that crap. It is usually the city slickers with shiny new guns who are the problem. That is why you paint COW in big orange letters on all your cows during hunting season.

To me, it is very simple & obviously a (sick) warning to the G Men/Feds to "keep the F#&^ out - we don't take kindly to strangers in these parts" etc etc.
There are a hell of a lot posters using this crime as a springboard to connect it with their pet overblown theories and partisan ranting. As usual. Americans, hmmm, strange.
I feel that those who misread the "feds" inscribed on the body as THE Fed are missing the point. It is The FEDS generally.
Just my gut feeling.

You're right, bub. "These people" (is that some kind of racial slur?) ARE a dangerous bunch. I believe that you, being the heroic type you talk to be, should lead the charge in "putting them down like dogs". It amuses me how one can revel in the annihiliation of an entire culture based on the actions of what must have been a few deviants.

Make no mistake, when the "Rambo" types go in guns-a-blazing for King and Glory, and even attempt to start a general war, with the general population there over this specific action, they will no doubt get the surprise of their lives in the beginning.

You may THINK it's all a bunch of hicks, hoodlums, and "yoculs" (that one had me chuckling too - even the "yoculs" know that it's spelled "yokels"), but as Sun Tzu said, he who knows neither himself nor his enemy will never win even the first battle.

The federal government went up against some of the same people in 1861, thinking it would be a cakewalk, and 4 years later were a bit more educated in the matter.

I think the Feds may have done this. Maybe the whole thing was set up. Remember the photo op with the activist at the G-20 and the faking of all kinds of other things. The government will create a revolution if the people are too smart to fall prey into their hands.

Although it's possible, I doubt it. There is a big difference between getting a few cops to dress up and play anarchist and this kind of murder.

In order to spark a revolution or help incite one, to give confidence to the public to throw one.....one or two people being killed is nothing for them.

I see what you mean.

Right now, I think tension is extremely high.

It really wouldn't take that much right now to kick something off.

This area is well known for its cash crop and the mexican drug cartels have been moving in. and many grower of high grade crops find that the low grade Mexican grass cross pollinates there high grade crop and don't like it.

Most high grade pot here in Calif goes for about $2500 to 3000 a pound.
the mexican c**p gets about $1200 to 1300.

I can see the Mexican drug cartels doing in a census worker to bring heat on the local good old boys. This may be a part of a small war between the local growers and the Mexicans.

We had problems with the Mexicans and there crops in one area of northern calif and there the local good old boys would steal the Mexican crop or call the feds on them just to get them out of the hills.

The local GOBs would plant small patches of maybe 10 plants and maybe 20 of these patches spread over a couple miles that were easy to hide and missed by the feds and CAMP aircraft.
But the Mexicans would plant patches of 2000+ plants in one place and the CAMP aircraft could not miss them and then the fed would be all over the place.
Plus the Mexicans would just move into miners cabins in the area and live till the fed catch them then the fed would destroy the cabins to stop the Mexicans and the local miners/growers would be p**sed.

The local miners used the cover of metal detecting in the hills to check there crops. plus the extra money from the gold they found helps survive the winter.
If the feds were watching a crop they found, The miners would spot the feds and the feds would just see someone out metal detecting and could not pin the crop on them.

How do you know this, do you have some inside information?

Maybe it was a "left-wing pro-government local" trying to stir up trouble by killing this guy and writing FED on his chest to turn the people against the right wingers.

Maybe we should wait for the results of the investigation before starting this left-wing vs. right-wing BS..

This is ludicrous. Talk about some hateful people. I wonder what the guy was doing besides doing his job?

People do not kill Feds for Marijuana crops. That would just bring in MUCH MORE trouble, and the other pot growers would get together and kill the guy who killed the Fed.

I think the Feds did it to give the people some belief they should rebel and rise up. As soon as it becomes apparent that there are people ready to resist in major ways, this will embolden the people and more will be justified in rising up.

I call it a Fed trap....too much suspicious stuff around the cops. It was murder, it was not murder. We don't know it may have been suicide. All of this is for SHOW. If it was truly a situation of right wingers or extremists and they killed a Fed, and the Feds were NOT trying to start a revolution, chances are the story would have been buried, but instead it was promoted and made more suspicious on purpose to make sure it got exposure.

So these commmunities are very isolated places. Have any locals come out ith information on what has transpired since? DO we even have a Federal Investigation yet?

I am fairly certain of it. I think we can all conclude that is was a murder by far. I want to know who prime suspects are and whether they are offering rewards for the information leading to the arrest of anyone involved with this crime.

Any word on an investigation or possible suspects? I've not heard a word
from msm. Who knows the whole thing could be fabricated.

Ok he was found on the twelth of Sept, and they haven't ruled it

I live in Kentucky and Clay County? Well, sadly, I'm not surprised this happened there. If there's one place you don't want to be messing around with people you don't know, it's Clay County! Think "Deliverance". Scary!
