This movie would have been so different if the kid just started pelting him with rocks when he found ET.

If you were to genetically splice this things DNA with an early primate, you would probably get something that looks similar to modern day humans.

Yeah, I saw some pics of aliens that have been found here and there. I suppose they could be real because they are all cut up and theres blood and skin and organs that you can see.
The funny thing though, they look almost human, just really ugly (maybe because they are dead). I have also tried to 'cross' them in my mind with an ape.

Edit to ad-

Does anyone know if this pic is real or fake?

It's no sloth:

- Extremely thin arms.
- Weirdly narrow shoulders/upper chest.
- Very different mouth.
- Different neck.
- Different eyes.
- Different nose.

That many (alleged) "mutations" cannot possibly occur at the same time.

Unless by means of genetic manipulation.

It is a sloth that has been dead for some time...we dont know what time of year this was taken in...could have been frozen and thawed, giving the fur time to slough off the skin. Creepy, but I doubt anyone killed it and then took pictures...I don't see any wounds about the face, chest or head.

Creepy looking thing, especially with apparent pubic hair(?) sorry. You see it...

I agree with you.
As I said earlier, a sloth is only about 2 feet tall, has teeth etc etc.
But cant seem to find a decent article on it, so we can tell how tall it is, it's gender and all that jazz. Most of the articles I have found are in foreighn language.

You don't see wounds? I thought I saw a couple on its upper rib area.

Edit to ad-
I definitely see wounds, what they are from is argueable, but have a look below it's right arm.

That is the freakiest thing I have seen in a long time.
Yes, compared with the picture of a sloth, I can see the hairless sloth look, claws, features etc. but why is it hairless???

It could be a sloth -- and the teenagers' account of the story (the part about it coming out of a cave looking like this) could be made up.

Perhaps the teenagers killed the sloth and shaved it solely for the purpose of a hoax.

I see leaves and twigs on the arms and torso, along with a nipple below R arm, but no wounds...none that could be considered mortal, especially. I really think it has been in the water for a while! If its not a sloth, then I dont have a clue. Need more info on the back story...where is Blue Hill?

and the alien autopsy was deifinately a hoax. Well done, but a hoax.

Correct. And for other reasons. Certainly no slothy boy.

How about a CROSSBREED of sloth and ...

These don't look similar at all...at least not to me. I agree it's been in the water for a while.
But comparing these pics, they don't look similar to me.
The noses and eyes are worlds apart!
But hey, you may be right.

As someone mentioned, it looks very much like a Sloth, albeit one that has drowned, or lain in water for a long enough period of time to take on moisture and swell. The lack of perspective in the photo leads me to think that it is much smaller than it appears, maybe 2.5 feet max.

The anatomy of the arms, claw, and overall size look very sloth like, the only confusing thing is the lack of fur. This however could again be explained by being submerged, perhaps from the waist up, for a period of time (to take account of the fur being present on the legs).

I also doubt that it was 'beaten' to death. It takes a 'lot' to inflict a fatal wound, and it is a messy affair. I don't see any cranial damage to the animal, and no wounds that would lead it to lose enough blood to have died that way. There is a total lack of bruising or abrasion.

Call me a believer in the best of human nature, but I also doubt that a 'bunch of kids' no matter how savage, could have really cornered a large animal, and perpetrated a sustained attack that led to it being 'stoned to death'... let alone do it without leaving marks!

This has all the hallmarks of a hoax, with a concocted story to make it seem feasible.

Probable events -

1. Sloth dies of natural causes, possibly next to a water course of some description.

2. A day or so later the body is partially submerged.

3. The body remains in the water, causing it to swell and lose the fur from the parts of the animal in the water.

4 Body is washed down stream and found.

The rest you know...

Just my 0.02€

If you are looking at it in the context of advancing decomposition, the swollen tongue and face/ lips are distorting the actual features, and the lack of fur changes the contour of the head, neck and arms...but the hook at the end of L arm is a dead giveaway, IMB. Would love to hear other theories of why it can't be a sloth, though.

I am not too sure if this story is entirely true. I don't see any evidence of a beating. No cuts, not observable bruising and I don't see any evidence of blood in this picture.

I agree with you that to kill a living thing that appears strange or unidentifiable at first glance is horrible but these children most have been taught to kill what they fear.

Isn't this what we have become; a society where is acceptable to kill anything or anyone that is different than us or believes differently than us?

I just hope that if there is other intelligent forms of life here or elsewhere, that they are smart enough to stay as far away from us as possible.

Those claws do look like a sloths

You may also notice, theres now a few extra items in the picture so that a size comparison can be made (eg: tufts of grass, leaves etc)

I agree, there are not enough wounds to explain being beaten to death. But, The kids could have knocked the creature uncontious, and dumped it in the water thinking they had killed it and thus, the creature drowns.

Which may explain the swelling of the stomach, if it was drowning it would swallow water. I doubt the stomach would swell if already dead, then dunked in the water.

from the metro source:

Zoologist Jacobo Arauz said it was likely the creature was likely to be a mutation and suggested it could be a form of sloth.

the verbage is very poor, this paper must be a rag along the lines of World News Weekly or such. Dont know if this quote helps my case or not. Somewhere in Panama?

Melquiades Ramos, an expert at the National Environmental Authority said, he will investigate the animal. Zoologist Jacobo Arauz said it was likely the creature was likely to be a mutation and suggested it could be a form of sloth.

Yes, that pic looks more like a sloth, especially the back claws. But it states in your source that 'it had been picked at by buzzards'.

I more inclined to think, if it was a regular sloth, experts wouldn't take the time to investigate or even call it a creature or mutation of a sloth.

No regular sloth...
But maybe a mutation.

ingesting water wouldn't swell the body to that extent. In the source, the second pic of the bones was taken "a days later" would inidcate that it was advanced decomposition in the first pic. Looks like 3 toes to me.

It was the posture of the body that was decieving...human-like...almost like it had been posed....

but on that point we agree, definately a mutation.
