Why does the U.N. think it has any business telling every society on earth when they should teach what to whose kids? Here's what we should start teaching kids by age 5: Screw the U.N., and if they come near you, kill 'em.

Yes we have seen time and again how the UN works... UN troops raping in african nations, not to mention shooting at disarmed people. Many UN officials including Kofi Annan's son involved in the Oil For Food Scandal by which they were getting rich meanwhile instead of helping the people in Iraq they were making deals with Saddam... Not to mention that along many other facts we know the UN even has HAMAS members employedworking for sections of the UN...

But apparently, from what we can see, most parents are not doing it.
So, if the parents are doing it, this will be nothing new to the children, and if they aren't doing it then this will be a good way of compensating the parents absence in their children's education.
Sure, but what about those that forget about it and only remember it when it's too late? Those were the ones I was talking about.

If a parent chooses not to discuss sex, AIDS, masturbation or any other topic with their children is their prerogative and as parents their right to raise their kids to reflect their beliefs should be respected.
From what you say it looks like you have a specific case in mind, and this report was a generic report, for no specific country, maybe UNICEF has some reports about math, reading, geography and "real" history (whatever that may mean), but as those are not as "sexy" as a report about sex education they are harder to find, if they exist.
If schools spent more time educating the children about basics such as math, reading, geography, and "real" history and less time forcing sex education (if that's what you want to call it) on "Johnny" he wouldn't graduate high school not being able to read and write his own name.
The fact that the system used in the US does not work doesn't mean that this one will not work either, have you compared both?
Schools have been teaching sex education in the US for nearly forty years and look at the state of things, it's apparent schools can't handle that responsibility either.
I don't think anyone is thinking that this is going to give back their childhoods, just prepare them better (in theory).
Also look at like this kids are faced with "adult" matters all day everyday just by listening to the popular music, watching supposedly children programs, and yes the pollution they're are taught in schools. So if people are thinking this latest recommendation from the UN is going to make things better for kids and give them their childhoods back they better think again.

They can devise any plan they like, but my children are only going to learn what I teach them. Then again, my children are home schooled, they are too important to leave in the hands of my stupid, delusional generation.
Get your kids out of public school systems. The curriculum might be similar in many ways, but you have the freedom to teach your own children with the emphasis and due attention each subject requires.
GET YOUR KIDS OUT OF THE SCHOOL SYSTEM. NOW
