Hmm... I suggest, if you do meet a woman in the future whom you are attracted to, see what she thinks about a film like "My Own Private Idaho". If she doesn't like the movie or she is disgusted by it, that could be an early warning for you. Just a thought. I love that movie.

I'll have to look it up.

Edit to add:
Peter, my bf, tells me that in his experience girls have been rather indifferent to it. I asked one of my female friends and she said, "If I came home and found my boyfriend in bed with another person, I'd be fairly upset. The gender of that person wouldn't be much of an issue to me in that circumstance."

I have met a few girls who go loopy for it though. Hoping to meet more like them in the future.

Well, here's a trailer...

It looks like the whole movie is on YouTube. Now that I think about it though, it might not be a good idea to mention the movie to anyone you don't know well. It's pretty weird in a variety of ways.

I like weird personally, but the movie is not for everyone. And I guess how a girl reacts to the movie might not have anything to do with her views on sexuality... there are several reasons a person may not like it.

Can I ask what this movie has to do with anything before I watch it? (Not trying to sound facetious)

Is there a particular kind of sex scene in it?

Yes. It's not really graphic or anything though. I don't even think it's rated R.

I can't summarize the movie in my own words, so from IMBD:

Surreal character study focusing on the friendship between two male hustlers, Mike and Scott, in Portland, Oregon. They live on the streets, do drugs, and sell themselves to men and women. Mike is quiet, gay and suffers from narcolepsy. Abandoned as a child, he is obsessed with finding his long-lost mother. Scott is the rebellious son of a high-ranking family, who lives this life mostly to embarrass his father. Mike is in love with Scott, who still maintains he is straight and insists that his wild lifestyle on the streets is only temporary. Together, they embark on a quest to find Mike's mother, traveling from Portland to Idaho to Italy, with Scott picking up a beautiful girl along the way.

Edited to add:

It only came to mind because those who are rather closed-minded about sexuality and are uncomfortable even discussing the topic would be very quickly put-off by the movie.

It could inspire sort of philosophical thinking for some people (it did for me), but others would turn it off within the first few minutes. My brother was cool about watching it, but my husband didn't like it at all.

I think most women would find the actors attractive, so whether they can still find them attractive in that movie would indicate whether they would be turned off finding out a guy they like is bisexual.

This looks like a very strange movie. "This road -doesn't bend -it probably goes around the world."

What?

I'll see if it's in my local video shop.

Good thought. I think though, I would have just asked by the time I got to watching a movie stage. And I will rent it if I find it, I'd rather watch it on my big tv than on youtube.
