underground punk seems to be where its at - in the UK at least anyway. And you can hear the words more than in metal tunes

Awesome tunes too! Shame they don't have more on the tinterweb page there...

I'd say the Second Wave of Norwegian Black Metal is often misinterpreted and overlooked.
The Media see's them as church-burning Satanists and pinned this label down on all the genre simply forthe fact a few band members commited church burnings and the odd murder. The actual truth is much of the theology is based on Norse Mythology and rejection of the Christian Laws tht are imposed upon the modern world.
Lets face it, most of the law is christian, thou shalt not kill, commit adultery, etc, even when you go into court you have swear oath upon the bible. this is what these guys are against. The music is about freedom of choice (freedom being misinterpreted as Satanism.)
I could go on forever about the Theology of Black Metal, but I find the subject fascinating being a Black Metal artist myself and having met a few of the members of the Black Circle.
