UNOCAL is actually the company building the pipeline from the Caspian through Afghanistan currently. I believe it is to transport natural gas. How much money they stand to gain from their efforts, I don't know.

I don't think oil is for sale anymore. I believe that any interest anyone has in oil is to horde and stockpile it, as well as other limited natural resources.
