NEVER in recent history has an administration actively sent out emails to try and dissuade people from listening to an opposing side of an issue, this is unprecedented!

Where, in that letter did they dissuade people from listening to an opposing side of an issue? What was said that "shut down" an opposing view?

Every single item in that letter prevents me from living my life as I wish, in tune with nature, taking responsibility for myself by acting as a caretaker on this planet, working for what I have and sharing the rest with those less fortunate.

Instead I was born into and live a government sponsored life of "ease and convenience". Until it all falls down like a flimsy house of cards.

Dear Friend, Anyone that's watched the news in the past few days knows that health insurance reform is a hot topic — and that rumors and scare tactics have only increased as more people engage with the issue. Given a lot of the outrageous claims floating around, it’s time to make sure everyone knows the facts about the security and stability you get with health insurance reform.

Im guessing since its from the Obama administration ANYTHING that says different then what the administration states would fall into these terms.....

Its pretty clear to me, im not sure how that isnt as plain as day to some people......

Hmmmm,a bill that is not going into effect for another four years?...

Yet the cost cutting and taxation will probably be implimented a teeny bit sooner, and toward a bill that is still in it's developmental stages.

Sounds like it could turn out to be a bigger nightmare than it appears to be later, than it does now.

The Insurance companies and medical industries are in it for the profit, nothing more, nothing less.

Their goal is to NOT pay out for your healthcare.

Do you get it yet?.

Probably not.

The monetary system and the corporations are the problem here!.

I have an idea... if the administration is so driven to 'educate' us 'common folk' about a health care plan that isn't even in it's final form yet...

Publicly broadcast all debates and briefings, day or night, at any time;

disclose all persons present during deliberations and drafting,

disclose the full agenda of all health care plan meetings, along with attendees and how to contact them.

Here you go max...it's not comprehensive, but it's a start

AMY GOODMAN: I want to just talk about some of the names, as they’ve released this, naming some of the healthcare executives who have made multiple trips to the Obama White House.

Richard Umbdenstock, the president of the American Hospital Association, has visited the White House eight times since Obama took office, beginning on February 3rd, two weeks after Obama’s inauguration.

Former Congressman Billy Tauzin has visited five times, now head of the drug industry lobby, the Pharmaceutical Research and Manufacturers of America, known as PhRMA.

Dr. James Rohack, president-elect of the American Medical Association, has visited four times, as has Karen Ignagni, president and CEO of America’s Health Insurance Plans, an industry trade group.

Other healthcare executives who have made multiple visits to the Obama White House include Jeffrey Kindler, CEO of drugmaker Pfizer; Stephen Hemsley, chief executive of UnitedHealth Group; George Halvorson, head of Kaiser Foundation Health Plan; Richard Clark, CEO of the Merck pharmaceutical company; Jay Gellert, CEO of Health Net; and Rick Smith, senior vice president of PhRMA, which Billy Tauzin heads.

Well, you're free to have your own interpretation, of course, but from what I read (not from what I dreamed up in my head), it says there's a lot of rumors and scare tactics out there (which is true - I've heard them) and the letter-writer wants you to have the facts (which I appreciate).

I guess you could see that as "trying to shut down an opposing view", but I don't know how you came to that conclusion...

If you have ever written to your congress person or signed up for any service that said explicitly that they will not sell your Email address then that's how you got that email. If you have ever called your representative or live in a state that's predominately Democrat you will receive this Email. If anyone thinks that the government doesn't have a Cray full of this information about the citizenry they are sadly mistaken!

Agreed, I don't see anything to be concerned about here. In fact I applaud this administration for coming out the Stone age as far as communication is concerned.

FYI - i have mixed feelings about Industry Execs being involved in the policy discussions. Ideally I would say no way, but Hillary Clinton got her butt handed to her when she attempted healthcare reform excluding industry, so the Obama whitehouse is adopting the "inclusive" approach in hopes of learning from her mistakes.

...If it doesn't pass this time I suspect no one will try again to overhaul healthcare again for a very, very long time.

There certainly is a lot of misinformation out there on this health care bill. A few things have been established.

Obama, Pelosi and thier puppets are for it.

ACORN is for it. The SEIU is for it...and they sent out thier thugs to slience opposition!

Will Obama Condemn Racist Union Thugs?

Why not...he quickly denounced the police when they arrested his friend?

The attorney for Kenneth Gladney, the young African-American man brutally beaten by at least three SEIU members at Democrat Russ Carnahan’s town hall meeting in St. Louis, has called on President Obama, the SEIU and Rep. Carnahan to condemn the union thugs’ racist actions......

........One could without much trouble distill the essence of the above passage into two words: Liberal Fascism. Maybe Nancy Pelosi really is telling the truth about the presence of Swastikas at these town hall events.

While Mr. Brown says "the SEIU member used a racial slur against Kenneth, then punched him in the face” Mr. Gladney has so far failed to receive the same attention from the White House that Harvard Professor Henry Louis Gates received after getting in the face of a police officer in Cambridge.

Let’s see. Two union members yell racial slurs at a black man and then punch him in the face, and so far neither President Obama, nor Rep. Carnahan or the SEIU has condemned the union thugs for “acting stupidly.”

Don't you know?

A President never speaks out about such incidents, unless he is given all of the information regarding the incident, first.

You wouldn't want to speak about racism, without knowing all the facts.

Could not agree more. This is the loss of what freedom we have left which is not much. Why do so many continue to deny the truth when it has become so obvious and in your face. This is not about a benevolent government. This is about complete comtrol by a fraction of the worlds population, the so called elite. Its nasty and out of control. Depopulation by any means will translate into a license to kill openly if you do not agree with this elites agenda. They want you to disagree so they can terminate you life.

Here's what I want to know. The talking heads in Washington keep exclaiming that if I like my current plan, then I can keep it.

But here's the rub, I don't have a plan. Like millions of Americans, we are covered via our employers. So, what happens if this passes? What incentive will there be for my employer to keep their health plan if the government provides for one? Nothing.

So, essentially the way I see it, thousands of companies struggling to keep their heads above water will relish such legislation. What do you think these comapnies will cut first if such legislation passes. Exactly, employees health benefits.

Then, all of us who now are without a plan will have to subscribe to Obama care or purchase our own insurance which is very cost prohibitive unless you are extremely wealthy or work for Congress.

And, since many of us can't afford to purchase private insurance, what do you think will happen to these insurance companies?

Government run health care will be exactly what everyone is screaming about. Struggling companies will drop their plans, individuals will have no choice but to take government healthcare and private insurance will start to dry up. This is exactly what Obama has said he wants to do and by damn he's going to do, even if he has to shove it down our throats.

If this passes, then those of you who are afraid to cry 'socialism' had better be ready to change your tune.
