Remember sometimes humour is the best way to deal with fearful situations. As fear just escalates without a release mechanism.

What does this have to do with the New World Order?

Update: Actually she's in Chesterfield Co, just south of Richmond...the scanner thingy covers that as well, but, here's a dedicated scanner channel for that as well...

Chesterfield Co Va
www.radioreference.com...

She says it's quiet at the moment due to police presence...

They *might* be looking for a African American around 5'8"+ in red/black clothing? roaming the woods in a few block perimeter...if he didn't make it out before the line was setup...

I'm dismayed at the caliber of some of the posters in this thread.

First there is mocking sincerity. Then just mocking.

Anyway, hope the OP and her neighbours are OK. The scanner seems quiet now, and I don't know what the time difference is, so I'll keep an eye open here for updates.

Op, I don't mean to come off wrong, but why did you post this? I can understand your adrenaline was pumping pretty good and rightfully so. Why inform us on this? Wouldn't a call to a friend or someone of whom you could rely on putting you up for the night or coming over to instill some security be a better placed decision? It sounds like you did right by blacking the house out and securing the place. Do you have any weapons to protect yourself? Perhaps you should keep the ol' steak knife close for good measure.
I truly hope you are ok, but where does the New World Order come into play? Did you witness Bob Lazar in a labcoat being pursued by cammo dudes? Surely the police would summon a helicopter with a spotlight to dispatch to your area. Has this taken place? Savvy if you are rural folk and not near a metro pd.

I am with you, I know that your integrity is flawless here and anyone that counts will know you are sincere.

Please hurry back to let us know how things worked out and what you discovered about the shots fired.

Who are the neighbors where the shots came from? You say it is a small area, do you have any ideas who it is?

Also you might want to have some hotsauce and bleach, draino , anything you can think of to throw in their face at ready if you have to defend your family, cast iron skillets, knives, fire place pokers, anything...

No matter what happens there is always a window of opportunity to over come a perpetrator.

Please be well...

I hope You pull through this in one piece but I hope You learn a lesson. Just because You have a special needs child does not mean that You can't have a gun. You need to get one and then make sure it has a trigger lock or something. I have plenty of guns with a 5 year old I just make sure they are in a closet and the ammunition is else where. I know when my child gets a little older I will need a gun safe but at 5 years old I don't have to worry about killing herself with a rifle because she can't even use a red rider bb gun for now.

OP, I certainly hope every thing has worked out well for you and your family. Like another poster has stated, I hope you have learned something from this experience. Guns can be very intimidating and when you have children it just gives you one more thing to worry about, however you have found yourself in a situation where gun shots are around you and you now have no options but to turn and run or duck and hide. For me, those are not even viable options. I believe everyone should have access to a gun if they need one. I understand you have a special needs child, but there are many precautions that a person can take to protect their children from their firearms while still having a firearm available to protect you and your family. From trigger locks to gun safes, there are many options available.

It does not really matter if you believe in an NWO, that the economy will collapse to a point of complete social breakdown, or that Marshal Law is coming soon. One thing most of us do agree with is that things will be getting much worse before they get better. Now would be a good time to ask yourself, how would you protect yourself and your family in the event that you were forced to do so?

Best wishes.

I'm not sure how familiar you are with the sound of gunshots, but they're not often very loud. Shotguns are loud, but other weapons sound more like a "pop" than a blast. There is a good chance that what you heard was fireworks, not gunshots.

I called in a similar event once. I heard some noises that seemed, to me, to be gunshots. The police came and investigated, but found nothing out of the ordinary. They told me, however, that fireworks tend to come at random. Gunshots tend to come at regular intervals as someone squeezes the trigger.

I hope your incident turns out to be just some kids with firecrackers.

Me too. I think those kind of posts should be removed. I would be scared and might post about a situation going on in my neighborhood too, especially if I were alone or scared real bad. I dont think she should be ridiculed for posting about this.

Ya know, I'm one of the nicest people in the world, most of the time and almost never say anything untoward, but I have to say that some posters in this thread need to get a grip. If you were actually concerned about the safety of the OP, you could have said what you said a whole lot nicer and without the criticism. And why the hell would anyone think that a ATS'er who always seems to be level headed in other threads just make up something like this? Some people just get off on putting others down. Ya know, most people get over that by the end of high school. Stop being so damn anal.

Do your neighbors suck at shooting each other? That is ten shot fired and they still havent killed whatever it is that they are shooting at. Call them up and ask if they need to borrow some bullets.

Im sorry but I laughed so hard at this!

To the OP. Gunshots from that close vicinity are disturbing to say the least. But, how come the police didn't go to the alleged house where the shots where heard? Hope and pray things are okay. It is VERY scary to hear gunshots that close. Even for a guy like my who lives in the woods. closest neighbor is 300 yds away. Then again, thats why I have ALOT of guns. (and ammo)
