It seems the locals report hearing a loud "boom" or some noises. Some people were not even aware of the "ufo" incident that occured, but were worried about loud booms they heard. Read below for witnesses reporting booms and flashing lights in the same area prior to the alleged pictures.

There were firworks at the race track, the BHRA nationals were held there. I called the racetrack and had this confirmed.

It was most likely wind turbine associated material which is often shipped via I-20 to West Texas. I live in the area and I have seen that often. There are always escorts with flashing yellow lights.

So you ignored all the others that said it wasn't fireworks, and the guy saying he saw the fireworks, and this was later?
Ok...
I think people know what fireworks sound like, personally.

No. Don't mean to offend but there are plenty of people in that thread saying it was not fireworks, claiming fireworks can't explain it because of the distances involved, and apparently a lot of calls to the police about it, one guy claiming 'grenades', and another a 'sonic boom'. I think it odd that people can't tell fireworks when they hear them, they're usually pretty obvious, no? Some people may have heard fireworks, others claim to have heard something else.
So, I'm just saying what I read.
I also think the 9pm time is way off, the first reports to the radio station appear to have been in the early hours of the morning.

I'm guessing you've never heard a bomb, then.
Ah well.
