You know a real man would have removed him physically not electrocuted him like some cattle.

In an episode of police brutality in a soccer game, the portuguese fans did
this:
www.youtube.com...

When something like this happens in my country we don´t stay aside and watch. We do something to stop this kind of opression made by the police.

That wasn't some frail elderly guy. He looked pretty robust to me. Not that he was in any condition to take on three cops, but it wasn't like they zapped some 90-pound grandfather.

Still, it was excessive. They could easily have gotten him up out of the seat and moving, using various holds and locks on his arms and such. They're trained to do this, it doesn't usually cause any injury, and it's got to be safer than tasering him. Also, it leaves him able to walk, which is how you get him out - instead of having to half drag his semiconscious body out of there.

I guess it's better than just beating him on the head with the "night stick" (policeman's club), or shooting him with a .38.

I saw this video a while back and believe me I cheered for the Portuguese! This came to mind when I saw this topic by the way.

Star for you.

There always seem to be those who love to debase themselves before authority. Do the boots you lick taste that good to you?

It's time for freedom loving men to take care of cops like this when they start abusing people. There was enough there they could have easily overwhelmed those cops and taken their tazer, gun, and badge away from them and escorted them off the premises. It's time to show these pigs who they work for.l

I just saw the video.

There was no reason for the taser. None whatsoever.

Wait a second.....Did the police stop and check this mans medical history before they decided to send several thousand volts of electricity through his body?

What really gets me is that if the "suspect" would have died due to an under lying condition caused by being tazed, what then?

Is a mans life worth taking for a very minor issue?

Where do you reside silo13? Maybe this would end it folks...The little old lady from the Wendy's commercials from long ago..sitting behind the cops, she gets outraged and starts beating them with that black purse of hers. The cops tazer then tazer old lady, the Oakland crowd (and if they're anything like that Raider crowd, Lord help the cops) immediately and in unison, give those cops the beating they deserve.
Here where I live, they tazered a teenage kid running down the street naked. He had ingested some hallucinogenic mushrooms and didn't stop when they ordered him to. He was tazed and died 30 minutes later. Damn, for streaking you know...the cop that killed him was probably a streaker back in the 70's. Sadly, they got'em, they aren't ever gonna give'em back

Making a medical enquiry to this man's history, should not have made a difference.
They used too much force.

Common sense would have been a much better application.
Or falling back on some training in regards to human relations
Or
Or
Or...
It is NOT the beginning of a policed state. It is the progression of lazy humans. That is all.

We need to turn tables on the LEO's and start carrying tazers too. Then we can tazer them just for the hell of it just like they do.

No one mentioned that the guy brought a bunch of little bottles of vodka and was pounding them down. Try reading the back of the ticket. You can be booted out for smuggling in bottles of hard liquor.

Okay, say other than the taser they physically grab the man in an attempt to move him when he is unwilling. He is going to get MORE combative than he was in the first place. The man is old, but by no means frail. In his state he very easily wouldve become violent towards the officer.

No matter, electrocution is a form of torture, and can even provoke death. I rather have seen the guy get subdued by physical force or persuasion. All they had to do is tell the old man he won a prize at the front gate, or that he has a free beer ticket. It's not that hard to get someone to move!!!

I would of loved to have seen this old man get more combative, it would show how fat and out of shape these cops are. My bet would be on the old man kicking all three of there fat @55's lol. I would also bet these cops know nothing about joint manipulation.

By taking the taser he probably ended up with at most, drunk and disorderly and resisting arrest. Should they have used other means, giving the man an oppurtunity to resist further, he could very easily have ended up with assualt charges, and potentially real prison time.

And that is where the old man should go to jail, because being tased has the potentiality of death. I rather see him serve jail time than be electrocuted to death.

My advice to you, get tasered.

That's like telling someone to go jump off a bridge without their bungee cord!!!

Did the back of the ticket have a warning that you might get Tazed in the removal too?

Just to play Devil's Advocate, the guy wouldn't move when 3 guards were telling him to. He was obviously in the wrong seat and wouldn't budge. I suppose the officers could have physically dragged him out of the seat and forcibly cuffed him and then drop him off outside the park.

What would you have done?

I think this is beside the point. Tasers were never meant to be used for pain compliance.

People should learn to respect the Police

They want my respect? Earn it. Just like I earn the respect of my children and friends. I don't get respect from them by being an abusive bully taking advantage of my position.

You bet, start off treating me with respect, and I will give you the same. Come at me all tense and obnoxious, and you won't have a zip of respect from me.

There was a thread about a month ago with this one. Yes, some people were supporting the police.

An eleven year old was tazed, many people supported this one as well.
www.youtube.com...

Seems to me, that people on both sides of the fence, those for the police and those against, will support their specific beliefs no matter what the evidence.

Me? I am mostly on the side of no tasers. Three police officers with the right training could have easily removed this person without using a taser. In my (minor) experience with the police, I have only run across one or two in my life, who earned my respect. The rest? Should have never been police, should never have been given such positions of authority.

Harm None
Peace

Wow, sounds like someone had too many Freedom Fries !

These men are the law. You respect the law. Got it? That's the way the system works. I'm sorry you don't understand it....

The "old man" did not deserve to be tazed. However, he refused to cooperate with the law. If his drunk ass respected the officers wishes, he would've left fine. But no, the moron decided to be a tough guy.

If you're a cop and you have an intoxicated individual mocking you, how would you feel?

You don't eff with the police. Sorry you live in such a dream world. Grow up, thanks!

That's right. They were assigned to be an alternative to deadly force. Not common compliance issues.

spoken like a true "COP"!!!! i think the crowd should of either taken the taser away and tased the pigs or just thrown them over the railing like the trash that all pigs are..there days are numbered and you can take that to the bank!!!

very soon the boon will become illuminated
all flowers have bloomed in unison
the fallen one versus the solemn son
all days fade and change as part of the great ancient
stay patient and let go of your complacent face
peel back the mask and ask for forgiveness
heal this place and shape your days
