Have you read the hospice part of the bill it seams like they do want to kill off old people.

Ugh... what the hell is wrong with people! How tough is it to understand?

A hospice is where people who are ALREADY GOING TO DIE go so they can at least spend their remaining time in comfort, as much as possible, and to decide at what point, if any, they'd rather not go on living.

This isn't about saying, "Oh, you're all worthless drains on society, time to die."

It's about saying, "How can we make your remaining time as comfortable as possible?"

How do you not already know this?

And here we have a perfect example of why they would like to get more information about all the disinformation floating around out there.

You and the guy who thinks hospices are for killing old people.

Aren't we supposed to be combating disinformation?

Please question our politicians...question healthcare reform...but when we premise those questions on lies we are encouraging factions of our political parties to continue to lie to us. We are telling them it works, keep it up.

Thank you for providing this. It's so maddening to see so much disinformation being spread around, online and on TV and the radio, with people becoming sheeple and blindly accepting any scary lie they're given, it's good to see someone around here actually questioning things.

Clearly this is the sort of place where people try to find and identify lies, and squeeze the truth out. It's disheartening to see people who pride themselves on spotting lies being suckered by them.

Damned if he does, damned if he doesn't.

The last U.S. president DIDN'T make any effort whatsoever to utilize the internet in any way for communication with the public. Maybe Obama should go back to that system? Oh yeah, then he'd be accused of HIDING from the public, or not embracing new technologies.

So, if a president DOES want to embrace the communication potential of the internet, how exactly SHOULD he go about it, so that it doesn't appear that he's about to usher in the New Masonic Illuminati Satanic Reptilian Secret Messages In $20 Bills Shapeshifting 2012 World Order?

What's the difference between a greedy insurance company and a government bureaucracy. I don't think there is one. It is not universal health care. It is State run universal health care. Bureaucratic socialism. Socialism is good. Socialism run by the government is bad.

If your the government and cant keep tab of all your citizens, you shouldn't be trying to run their health care.

I'll tell you the same as above. If the government alone cannot keep tabs on all things related to itself as viewed by its citizens, it is not efficient enough to run the health of its citizens

A greedy insurance company will keep extending you coverage as long as you pay the premiums (doing otherwise would put them out of business because bad PR would cause them to lose too many customers). A government bureaucracy doesn't have to worry about keeping customers (they can say "Take a pain pill" [laced with drugs to kill you] to cut costs).

Ministry of Truth... MINISTRY OF TRUTH???
That sounds like a communistic propaganda tool used by the SOVIETS!!!
MINISTRY OF TRUTH??? Give me a break.
AND notice how the word Czar has become used in our political vocabulary. That's not an AMERICAN word I want to use.

Czar wasn't used by the communists. It was used by monarchs and essentially is rooted in the roman word Caesar. Further proof we are heading for a dictatorship.

i'm honestly growing more disgusted by the day with the intimidation and rumors being spread on TV and other media such as this board. i'm one who has witnessed communism and abuses, who has seen europe before and after the fall of the berlin wall. whatever is being introduced into congress now is not even close to communism or socialism.

when glenn beck started his show on fox i was a fan of him and i even believed that the tea parties were a form a democratic protest even when some wingnuts were obviously agitating and ranting. after all each assembly will have some idiots around who want to show off.

but then things started going downhill fast. glenn beck is off my dvr schedule now and i think the next big "news" in healthcare will be how someone - maybe a democratically elected official or just someone working in an office - is killed by a "lonely" shooter. same as dr tiller "the baby killer" and others. and those spreading the lies will evidently hide behind outrage and condemnation as usually.

we live in interesting times. and it is sad. democracy is not about who shouts the loudest. it's about civil discourse. emphasis on civil.

please stop the paranoia before it's too late! oh yeah before anyone points it out, i'm part of illuminati and a 37th degree mason with ties to the bilderbergers. in fact i'm the one reading all those emails sent to [email protected] and decide who gets arrested next. yep i'm working with the evil ones.

Please read more carefully. I never said the Communists used that word.
I do however fully agree that we are heading in the direction you mention. I remember back in the 60's, that a Communist official publicly stated
"WE will DESTROY you from the INSIDE." It's working, imo.

Subtle changes grow over time. We are not the republic we once were. Look at yourself. You're using the word democracy. We are not a democracy. Democracy cannot sustain itself. We are...or at least were, a republic.

Senator John Cornyn (Rep. TX) sent a letter to the President expressing his concern about the White House's new tattle-tale program.

Link to the letter

He also has a list of some of the so called "fishy" claims.

Here is a video of an interview where he announced his letter.

The popularity of this topic + the fact that I saw it was in an ATS email Makes me almost certain that I'm on that list. I feel proud.

It's like a conspiracy theorist's right of passage.

Everyone seems to be making light of this and that is their right. To me The Ministry Of Truth, The Department of Homeland Security, The Patriot Act, the push for confiscation and control of guns and trying to abolish the 2nd,4th and I believe the 14th Amendments all smack of 1933 and of a short little Austrian with a nasty little mustache and a dream of world conquest, dominance and glory for his Arlan Race. Left unchecked where do you think they will stop, when do you think they will have enough? Before or long, long after you are enslaved or worse dead, and what of your children and your children's, children? Think about it!!!

Look at all possible explanations b4 just stooping to paranoid delusions.

You may have named a few-insignificant to the elite-but you left out a very important one.*The US needs cash.

It took obama months to choose a dog,but he wants to push this bill entirely too fast, which only confirms my suspicions that there are things in this bill that can only be good for the gov't,not for the greater good.

IMO the need to get the *bill passed quickly has something to do with this:
