Awesome post, and immediately following my reading of Xtraeme's post "Let's cut the crap". Well constructed posts with all the documentation necessary and presented in an easy to follow manner. Top marks, a nice change from the "Swine flu ate my hamster" and "The End Of The World Is Coming!!! - And here's why!" threads that grace my recent post page daily.

A thought on the alien technology deployed when the ships are here. Every technology has an problem with it's performance, like light and shadow, their cloaking technology or whatever may not work here for some ridiculously complex or War-Of-The-Worlds-simple reason. Sometimes I think we give the ET's too much credit for their technological advancement. Just because they can do the things they do; travel here; erase memory; micro surgery, etc, doesn't necessarily mean they can do as much as we think.

It helps me sleep at night anyway!

Well, that is is certainly interesting. You should start a thread about it and I would be happy to comment further then. But this thread however is not about theoretical SCRAM jet conspiracies, it is about the Yukon UFO Incident of 1996.

I just do not think your theory fits in this case but I could be wrong.

Yet another great thread, even looked through my extensive books for this sighting and no word.

I don't think this fits with the stealth blimps, for one it was not stealthy was it! and if these are man made where are they being kept? where is the hanger?

i have heard of blimps that are able to stay way up high for a very long duration before having to return but a mile wide,i don't think this is earth tech. as for the scram jet theory well these are meant for smaller craft than what was witnessed here.

another great thread J.

true but spose even then humans have the ability 2 manage 2 make explanation 4 everything. a human could stare an alien right in the face and not believe it was an alien

For more info about this case one can try
these links

hbccuforesearch.blogspot.com...

and

www.ufobc.ca

both have extended info on this Yukon case.

From what I understand the UFO was up to 2 to 3 km in diameter
or about 1.2 miles to 2 miles in diameter which is quite a bit larger
than what is quoted here.

And the extremely large sizes quoted by viewers in the Yukon case
is not the first witnessed by observers. As far back as the mid 80's
cylinderal ufo's with the length of 5 to 7km or (up to 35,000 feet long)
have been proposed.

In one case which I am trying to re-locate, a video was
made of an extremely large cylinderal UFO of up to 5km, (25,000+ feet)
long at an estimated 150,000 feet up AND there was a radar return
recorded along with the sighting which was analyzed and using common
trig functions, an estimate of a length of 5km+ was made.

I actually remember watching the video itself and an accompanying report
in what I believe to be around 1995/96 but I can't remember right now
the actual source of the video or the written report.

But I will see if I can do some Google searches to find it....

On a side note, the UFO if it was made of high strength
TITANIUM METAL....I have some APPROXIMATE MATH FOR YOU
to contemplate how truly an engineering marvel these ships would be:

5280 feet in one mile

assume width to height ratio 1.6 to 1 (the golden ratio used just for fun!)

2 mile wide UFO = 10,560 feet in diameter assume cylinderal shape

height = 10,560 * 0.625(golden ratio) = 6600 feet high

6600 divided by 12 foot high per deck = 550 decks

assume each deck plate is 2 inch thick titanium
of the following weight....

NOTE: (All weights are predicated upon
a cubic inch of titanium weighing 0.163 pounds)

144 square inches * 0.163 * 2 = 46.944 pounds per square foot
of 2 inch thick titanium plate (2 inches thick would be normal
thickness for shipbuilding hulls of tankers or military vessels)

Area of a circle = PI x Radius Squared

or

one deck = 5280 feet radius x 5280 feet radius x 3.141592 =
87,582,558.4128 Square feet

= 4,111,475,622.1304832 pounds per deck x 550 decks =
2,261,311,592,171.76576 pounds

or

1,130,655,796.08588288 tonnes (2000 pounds per tonne) for a
Titanium hulled ship

So assuming the above and NOT including the interior and exterior walls
just the weight of the decks alone indicates the UFO in the Yukon
weighed AT LEAST 1.13 BILLION TONNES or the weight of a small mountain!

And just for good measure, humans really aren't that far behind
when we can build 500,000+ tonne oil tankers pretty easily
and we could with enough cooperation amongst multiple shipbuilders
easily build something the size of a small mountain!!!!

Now if only we had the anti-gravity drives to lift it all up into space!!!!

Hope this helps!!!

[ edited to fix wrong math in calculating area of circle --- oops! ]

The object was tracked and the R.C.A.F acted accordingly.. There is nothing more to be said on this thread.

I disagree. It's because of such great posts like this that helps exemplify how a ATS member should take the time to research and present an event and/or scenario. Do not think for one second that because there is not any photographic proof or film of this object that it detracts from the importance of such a sighting. Who is to say that someone does not have more evidence of this sighting and simply has not stepped forward yet for fear of ridicule (or other). Perhaps someone from law enforcement and/or the military that was on duty that evening might step forward. Perhaps.. a thread like this will be seen by a civilian (or tourist) from that area that saw this event unfold and will add to it, and you think nothing more can be said on this thread?

I applaud you jkrog08 for the presentation of such a fine post and lets hope that others will take heed and notice that this is what we look for in a good post, spending a lot of time to put it together and not simply someone that found a CGI creation on YouTube and creates a thread that says; "OMG, Undeniable Truth That ALIENS/UFO Exist".

Keep up the fine work..!

AN1, MA1, CE1. SRR-1 SVR-0 PER-0. To my previous comment so I may shed some light. If the said object existed and passed by as said events by source(s) reported, it is protocol that the R.C.A.F immediately track and log the U.F.O. To this day, no Canadian government agency has touched the report. I am not saying that the event did not take place, all I am stating is the event is un-official at this time.

The government in coordination with the military and national police take high interest into U.F.O reports.. That whole ordeal is another topic, with that in mind for the government to have no comment on the situation raises some doubt. The R.C.A.F will track any U.F.O's and will immediately log down the information they observe they will then hand it over to the DND which after the proper administrative work has been filed publish it online. This was not recorded at all, there is technology in place in the Yukon that can detect U.F.O's. This was not recorded by the R.C.A.F near the Yukon. Which raises some rightly deserved speculation.

yes it raises doubt about the goverment telling the truth

i think the key word there is "proper"

This was not recorded by the R.C.A.F near the Yukon.

were you there ? did you witness this yourself or are you just echoing something you read on the internet ?

maybe you should check your illuminati detection handbook because if there was a ufo case that did actually prove Alien craft where flying around....they are going to lie about it.

thanks jkrog08 for the excellent presentation of this incident. as you can see some people have not heard of this case so it's great that you brought this up for discussion.

i personally believe this is a real ufo case and not some secret goverment project (god i am sick of hearing that excuse) these people saw something unexplainable.

S&F

Wow, what an incredible story. It makes for an amazing read, but I'm having a hard time thinking it goes any further than that. Thinking logically, it's extremely difficult to believe that a craft nearly a mile wide traversed a distance of over 134 miles for over a period of 3+ hours during the prime of the evening, and only 20 people reported it. Unless the population covering those 134 miles is a mere 100 people (which after further study, is obviously not the case), it's nearly impossible to deem this as a factual story. Nobody called the police, while a craft the size of a small city overflew them?

What is much easier to believe, is 20 people agreeing to tell the same outlandish story. Just my opinion.

Cheers,
Strype

Not sure if you know but the Canadian Government released 9500 classified files on UFO's, what makes this different from the British UFO release or Danish? Well not only did they release the reports of the sightings, they also released high government memo's regarding the sights. One specific memo was regarding protocol should a U.F.O land on Canadian soil. To be fair the government has contemplated in adopting a USAF policy which just laughs at the thought of their being a U.F.O and there has been cases of a few cover ups however for the most part the Canadian government/military/national police have been very transparent on the issue. They record and post online. All I'm saying is not one single government agency has touched this issue which is not likely it just means that it is as it stands un-available. I'm no expert or such but I do have federal politicians in my family as well as military/rcmp so I know roughly how it works. The R.C.A.F for the most part will always log an event, now it's not like they are saying it was an alien (with the exception of some cases) but they usually post the sightings on the website, but for some odd reason this particular case was never posted.

Thanks for another great thread!

I didn't knew this case, and the number of witnesses and the fact that their reports are close enough to think that they all witnessed the same thing makes it a very important case.

As for what that thing was, I haven't any idea, but it looks like in this case we have something that could be created with our technology. The apparent lack of military response helps swaying my opinion to a secret terrestrial (although flying
) craft, but it's just a guess.

Wonderful thread. Thoroughly enjoyed reading this... So you well deserve these S&F!
Also, very well written.

I have never heard of this case before either and the size of it.. Woah! This is a very big UFO case that everyone interested in this sort of thing must take a look.

Thank you

Another well presented thread jkrog08!

I'm familiar with this case but had forgotten about it until I saw your thread. One of the better cases on record.

Could you imagine seeing this thing flying overhead? What an awesome sight it must have been for those witnesses.

1996 was one hell of a year for UFO sightings over lakes in Canada.

Other reports, in chronological order:

Beaulieu Videotape of UFO Over Frozen Lake - January 5 1996

West Channel of the Hay River - January 17 1996

Trout Lake - February 24 - 25 1996

Great Slave Lake in the Northwest Territories of Canada - March 3 to 17 1996

UFOs ROAM UP AND DOWN THE ST. LAWRENCE RIVER - October 6 1996 and October 19 1996
(seeing as we're covering large bodies of water I found this to be relevant).

Lake St. Martin, Gypsumville - October 25 and 27 1996

Gypsumville, Manitoba "a hexagon-shaped object" heading for Lake
Winnipeg. Gypsumville - November 5 1996

GLOWING UFO FLIES OVER SUDBURY, ONTARIO - "...ing for Georgian Bay and Lake Huron." - November 23 1996

LONE UFO PROWLS SKIES OF NORTHERN ONTARIO - "...the object "flew off to the west, apparently heading for Lake Huron." - November 29 1996
