destroy all extremists. muslim, christian, pegan who gives a # really. the world would be better without them all.

So by that reason, we must also destroy all Christians because some extremists make death threats against abortion clinics. Because any religion that is will to kill or bomb innocent civilians isn't a religion worthy of existing?

The war on terror has killed way more innocent people than tangos it’s a fact and I am not the kind to sit around and fool myself.

There is no room for any kind of extremists in this world because they all work together and feed on us, Muslims are not the only bad guys, terror is a matter of perspective and when you kill over 1,000,000 people I am sure they will feel terrorized themselves.

What should we do with the Christian men who believe that women have no right to serve as spiritual leaders in the church, that women are subordinates, and that women must submit to the will of their husbands rather than being equals? I don't see anyone speaking out for them, so does that mean that in a predominantly Christian society it is acceptable to adhere to the old ways of that religion while turning a blind eye to the obvious oppression that is going on, all while pointing fingers at other belief systems for doing the same thing and calling them extremists? That's pretty much what is going on, and it seems awfully hypocritical to me.

I have a Muslim woman working for me. She has two Master degrees. She is one of the smartest & talented women I ever met. She received her education in Indonesia, a country that is approx. 90%+ Muslim. You can't lump them all together s if they were all "Stepford Wives" type clones. As their exposure and interaction with Western society continues, the more fundamental elements of their society will diminish.

Calling for their destruction puts you n the same boat with the, so called, "Lunatics" you so vehemently condemn.

The problem with Muslim extremism, or ANY extremism for that matter, is ignorance. You can't fight ignorance by going around bombing the crap out of everybody who has a world/moral/religious view that you do not.

When you fight ignorance that way, you only give credence to the extremists ignorant ideology and help them attain more followers.

When you fight ignorance with compassion and education, you CAN'T LOSE.

We're never going to change the minds of extremists. But we can change the minds of the next generation and those that follow. That is the only way we can fight these extremists. We can't win by blowing everyone up and creating even more enemies who never would have thought of joining them until we killed their family, friends, or neighbors.

Think about it: When the Taliban goes around talking about evil America and how we cause nothing but destruction and murder Muslims, do you really think that the people are going to listen to a word they say if they see us doing completely the opposite? Or do you think that if they see us interfering and bombing villages with drones that they will think the Taliban is right and support their cause?

Most people only believe what they see and experience for themselves. If the Taliban says were evil murders and that's all the people see, then they are going to believe everything they say.

Education, education, education...

I totally agree. I also think we need to stomp out ALL extremism.
All religious ones, racist extremists, sexual extremists, all of them. They are a stain on our world, and all are as bad as the muslim ones. Destroy all of them and we can hav some peace.

Exactly. But it's the exposure to the positive side of Western society that makes them change their minds. If all they see is us causing violence everywhere we go, they'd be inclined to not want to even embrace us at all.

And I definitely have to agree with your last sentence. What is it that you, OP, think that the Taliban go around spouting about us that makes others want to join them and fight with them. They probably say things like, "This is why we need to destroy America!" as they hold up pictures of dead children laying in the street or pictures of detainee torture. You sound just like them: KILL, KILL, KILL--DESTROY THEM!

No Aftermath, religion is not all the same. Islam is much more brutal. Ever hear of the so called 'honor killing's'. Where a father within Sharia law can kill his daughter if she was raped or had premarital sex and this is considered normal! Yes there are extremists in any religion that suck... But I think Islam extremists take the cake with their beheadings of journalists/Westerners, totally disrepecting women and treating them worse than they treat their own horses etc. I'd love to see if you'd change your opinion on a visit to one of these fine Islamic countries and see this stuff first hand. And BTW, they want to either convert you or kill you. Nice doctrine. Name one other religion that extreme? I agree 100% with the OP, and the word destroy is just fine. The United States messed up royally supporting and training these guys when the Russians invaded Afghanistan. Now it is coming back to bite the whole world. They must be stopped at all costs... Well, the moslems are legal to impose any islamic laws in their own countries. We all are human, true.
If they choose not to educate their own women that is not our issue.
If they choose to blow up their entire country, that is not our issue.
This is what religion for, to control its people because they choose to live this way

and the OP is right, Islam as a whole is a religion that needs to become a little more flexible for our changing times. Christianity and Judaism are successful these days because they have somewhat changed the rules their followers can live by. They are not as oppressive as they used to be and that is why so many people change to those religions.

I'm an atheist who dislikes all religions, but even I can see that Islam has not changed compared to the other two abrahamic religions. What needs to be done is to try to reason with the extremist and make them change their ways (if possible). Islam would not be demonized by so many religions if only they changed some of their rules like the christians did.
in fact, Islam could gain even more followers if it allowed women to gain equal footing with men and if the people under this religion could have more freedom to do whatever they pleased.

I guess you don't knwo then that Islam is the fastest growing religion i nthe world. And it's growing MUCH MUCH faster than chirsitanity,in fact,statistics sho that mroe nad more christians and peopel of other rleigions are becoming muslims. And chiristianity is desperate now,cause they are actually losing people now haha.
All religions disgust me so I'm not pro this or that. I'm jsut saying how the trend is nowadays.

Also 9/11 is a day I'll never forget when it came to how even some of what I thought were my 'moderate' muslim friends reacted. Now don't get me wrong, I have nothing against moderate muslims at all. All people should be treated equally with respect.

But some of who I thought were my muslims friends actually cheered when the buildings came down. Right then I realized that I didn't know these people the way I thought I did. I'm sure most muslims thought of this act as terribly as the rest of us. But the mindset of a few, hidden behind their moderate exterior got exposed for what they really were.

Needless to say I never talked to them again. Anyone who could cheer at the death of innocent people is not worthy of my friendship. That really bothered me thinking how these same people came to the USA and bettered their lives as a direct result of being in this country. Then have the nerve to cheer when it gets attacked. Disgusting... and seeing this changed my perspective. At that point I wasn't sure what lies beneath the surface of anyone. I guess you never know until events unfold that expose people for what they truly are.

Also I wish the moderates of that religion would erradicate the extremists which give the religion such a bad reputation. Easier said then done, but if I were a moderate muslim with any sort of influence, I'd do my best to get rid of those who disrepect the religion by committing such terrible acts.
