Yes, I'm sorry. On that note, I have a friend who was Army (special forces) and he was deployed in Nicaragua.

Later on, he encountered the writings of Noam Chomsky and found out that the Sandinistas were not exactly what his superiors were telling him they were. The later unveiling of the Iran-Contra scandal also left him disillusioned and confused.

No proof. The Joint Chiefs of Staff did admit using WP against insurgents only. Of course, they could not admit to using it against civilians as that would be tantamount to admitting committing war crimes.

The documentary Fallujah, The Hidden Massacre makes the case for its use against civilians. In it, you'll hear the witness testimony of ex-Marine Jeff Englehart who claims that there were indiscriminate use of white phosphorus in the attack on Fallujah.

I think any theocracy can be potentially dangerous. Although, there are pockets of fundamentalism in the US, luckily, it does its best to separate church and state.

real shanti is right. Ironically, people who do things like this are nihilists at the core; they have no faith in anything greater. They have simply taken their false selves, that combination of all selfish, destructive desire without regard for the other, and they have called that lust a God. That makes absolutely no sense. You are the one objecting to the allegations by claiming it is nonsense and propaganda. You are the one behind the rose coloured glasses, conveniently ignoring the fact that Iran has an atrocious track record of how it treats it's citizens.

I do know that I've seen some of the most barbaric executions from Iran, recorded by members of the cheering crowds that cannot seem to get enough bloodlust.
