Why men really prefer blondes. The psychology behind it.

Until I met my wife, I never date, slept with, or was interested in blonds. I'm still not for the most part.

I do like real blonds, but the vast majority are brunettes too stupid to realize they look better with their normal hair color. Their skin tone doesn't match, the color is (even if it's done by a salon) terrible, not remotely resembling what real blonds look like.

In my mind, the lion's share of fake blonds are just that, fake. I do discount that with the fact that some are just dyed in the wool when it comes to American fashion and really have a hard time thinking their way out of a wet paper sack.

Shoot, I even dig an afro on black girls.

Straying from the source, I personally think blond, fair skin and blue/green eyes portray an idea of delicacy and femininity which may be appealing to men.

I am a woman and have always preferred men with light hair (ignoring the fact that my one long and difficult marriage was to a darker haired man).

BTW, I am dark haired (from a bottle now) and have several men interested in me. Alas, the love of my life, whom I met when he was grey, used to be a strawberry blond.

Maybe it is just opposites. I don't know. But there are certainly more dark haired people in the world than light haired.

Or maybe it is not just a man thing.

I always heard that men had`more fun with blonds because blonds get dirty quicker.

I'm a long haired blond with green eyes and I just like hair of any color.

The more hair the better. In contrast, I also think bald, shaved, guys are very sexy.

Oh who am I kidding, I like all men.

Actually, no!

Believe it or not, I'm 37 and never been married, just broke up with my girlfriend in Destin,FL and am presently moving to Oxford, Mississippi to open up a high end catering company and work on finishing some of my screenplays.

To those of you who may not know, Oxford is the home of the University of Mississippi(Ole Miss) and filled to capacity with an astounding variety of beautiful women.

My ex-girlfriend was a blonde and I suppose that it would get my funky good vibes up quite righteously were I to happen upon a dark haired blue eyed angel!!!

But ultimately, I don't seek to fulfill a particular physical characteristic.

Any woman that is intelligent and devoted to living live to the fullest in a way that aspires for the pursuit of Self Actualization will do quite nicely!!!

As for why men prefer blondes I really dont get it! I am brunette and have dated guys who wanted me to go blonde until my current love He cant stand blondes and says if I ever color my hair blonde he would leave..lol I love that he looooves brunettes! Finally I found one!

I've never found blondes attractive at all, and I've never went out with one. All brunettes.
I get annoyed when somebody says all men prefer blondes. I think it is just observer bias, and also people hear it and believe it and so they just THINK they prefer blondes, because they presume they're meant to.

Its funny to see most guys replying to this thread say they prefer brunettes over blonds in spite of that study .
But I must say I feel the same way , however if the personality is good then doesn't really matter .

I was blond with blue green eyes as a child , but since I've matured my hair has gone dark brown .
I have a thing for girls with dark hair and eyes at the moment , maybe the eye thing is opposites attract like someone said , cos all my family has blue eyes

I watched an interesting program, that explained that young kids first experiences of sex and the naked body is through porn on the internet. They view women who are skinny with big breasts and guys with huge dongers. they end up being totally confused and repulsed by normal bodies.

I doubt the accuracy of what you saw. Sounds more like somebody trying to make pornography seem like a tool of the devil again. Because we all know how evil nude bodies are.

edit: Oh wow, I got an applause for my post where I said I don't find blondes attractive. Haha, I knew something good would come out of my brunette fetish.

I find dark haired women more mysterious and maybe find them more romantically attractive, whereas blond women are maybe more attractive sexually, you know a bit dirty.

Overall, I prefer brunettes.

I wonder if this is because most of males here on ATS (I presume) are from western countrys or european decent, where blondies are a common sight .
Maybe folks from countrys where blonds, blue eyes etc are a rarity would like to post their views ?
I know some girls from countrys where light hair and eyes is a rarity , and they say those features stand out to them.
Same for guys from those countrys too ?

Don't know if I agree with this. I'm sure people from both genders feel a little self-conscious after watching a movie with what you describe. At the end of the day it is usually the people in these movies that are abnormal, not you.

I'm not sure where this idea that men are attracted to stick-like women or women with small dress sizes comes from. In my experiences it's complete rubbish. Also, breasts can definitely be too big and become unattractive. I'd rather go for a girl with a nice personality and whose body features are proportionately normal than a good-looking skinny woman with humongous breasts.

That's right ladies, while looks and fitness are important to us men, your personality and ability to appreciate our similarities and differences is much more of a turn on!

I prefer brunettes, and my last girlfriend had red hair. I've not gone out with a blond in years.

Although i am looking for a girl with green eyes

That's an interesting article, Jess. Hadn't ever considered this as anything but a cultural attachment. it makes sense, though. Myself, I've always preferred brunettes.

Just read something I skipped about blue eyes, and how they dilate, when they are interested in something. That is really interesting and I'm going to have to test that.

I could be wrong, but I believe that everyone's eyes do this; perhaps just more difficult to see pupil dialation with brown or dark-eyed folks.

Sorry man, look at the media these days, almost every girl has fake breasts, bleach blonde hair and cologene lips. 99.9% of them act like idiots! Yess, I am brunette with brown eyes, most guys Ive spoken to are mostly attracted to blondes because they are soooo easy to get in the sac.

On the contrary, Pamela Anderson is the smartest blonde Ive ever seen.

I am not a jelous person at all, and wouldnt ever think of going blonde or having implants. I just feel sorry for the idiotic majoraty of women who do it for attention and money.
