People have been asking every question in this thread for a long time.

The simple answer is that no human will ever know how God thinks, or why God did this, or why he doesn't do that. He is God. We're surely not in the position to question him.

I have to respectfully disagree.

If God asked me to kill you in order to test my faith, then I would surely question his motives. I would also question if he is truly omnibenevolent (all-loving) if he's asking me to kill you. Perhaps he will intervene in the end, but if I truly did believe he was all-loving, then I would simply just tell the voice in my head that he is not my god, because my all-loving god would never ask me to murder someone to test my faith. You would have to truly believe that God is capable of evil to go through with something like that.

But back on topic:
I believe that not questioning him is extremely dangerous.

It happened in the Bible. He actually told Abraham to go kill his son, and stopped him at the last possible second. God's a complete wackjob, if you ask me.

And the story has to be the only way it could have happend right? No story thousands of years old could have been distorted both intentionally and unintentionally right? And just because Christians believe their God did that why does it mean that if that being exists it did? Just some thoughts.

Prove it?

Let's see- the short version: EVERY amputee with still severed limbs, ALL of the poor and needy who really need prayer, but seem to be 'forgotten', all of the rich and affluent who get anything they desire, The lonely killing themselves in droves, all the children with horrible diseases dying daily, The millions of people hurt, fleeced, robbed and lied to by Christians all in the name of 'God'... Shall I go on? I dunno what's running the universe, but it needs it's hand slapped and sent to bed with no dinner.

I've gotten to the point that if It's in the bible, it's true, according to all the churchies. So, if it is like that, THEY can deal with their God being a total wackjob, by their own confession. They can sit, stutter and spin it til they get dizzy and
. They like the self righteous dance, let's see 'em tapdance out of it.

I have a simple answer to this thread, so we can end all of this pseudo-spiritual garbage; NO!

What I fail to figure out is this; The Book known as the Holy Bible has been translated several times, and there have been many versions of it. Plus, it was written by scribes who worked for the Holy Church. And still, to many Christians, it is all true. It is also funny that the God of the Christians would "inspire" one book only, and all the rest are lies. It is mind control at it's most basic level, make people believe in a devil and hell so they will give over their money and power to the church. If Jesuah bin Joseph were here today, he would be sad at how Christianity twisted his teachings and words to fit their agenda, and would most probably destroy them all.

Too bad it isn't even true to all the "churchies" as you put it. Any number of ministers, priests or whatever will tell you their holy book *the Christian Bible in case you forget* is purely allogorical in nature. Yet you use such an stunningly obtuse generalization *not to mention obviously false* to classify an entire belief system so that you can feel superior to it. Imagine that......

Ah but humans are still tribalistic *or collectivistic is a better more modern word* so thusly we band into teams on any of a great deal of topics and this crap goes on again and again and again and again. When it's little more than "My tribe yay! Your tribe boo!!"

I dont feel superior. I feel extremely cheated. It's been Christians who have used me, Christians who have hurt me, and Christians who have lied to me. So, I am gonna rip their God apart with my bare hands, if need be.....

Do I even need to point out the quite a few problems with this statement?
Will say this though I see massive amounts of victim mentality coupled with generalization.

I don't care if you see Michael Jackson come back from the dead and Riverdance with Yul Brenner. It's how I feel, it's what I have seen, and it's how I am going to react.

Well there are benefits to limited perception and blaming a group for the excesses of a few of it's members but it's no way I want to live. Hate is a poison I want no part of when I can avoid it.

It's also worth noting that such feelings as you express often lead to barbarism as history shows.

Sorry but most Ego's out here will never allow that kind of answer!!!!

The Ego is one of the most powerful driving factors on boards like these..

Everyone deep down just wants to be right!!
When Infact.. I agree with you here.
This thread has gone on for a very long time here..

And its not an in depth thread or theory..
Im amused at how far people can take such a short post, and turn it into a novel!

Uh, you missed my point completely, that's not what I meant at all.

I mean that we LOGICALLY cannot question Gods MOTIVES - that is, the 'why' something happens/happened.
If he asked you to kill somebody, then of course you'd question that - but that's a whole other thing and I'd probably seek counseling if I was you.
