I have had a couple but this one is my favorite.
I love dolphins and wish I was a mermaid. Put them both together and voila.

I'm terrible at avatar creation -- no skills.

Both of mine that I've used have been iguana photographs I've taken. This one is particularly crude, as I used a round eraser tool in a sloppy attempt at removing the background of bush from the photo.

Iguana feels like a totem of sorts. This photo taken in Little Cayman on the 17th. I watched this big boy for about 1/2 an hour and was lucky enough to capture him yawning.

I can take no credit from the design of my avvy, it all belongs to A Boy in a Dress (as stated in my signature).

The wolf is named Dexter and I took the snap shot of him myself.
He is doing his best wolf-puppy eyes since he was interested in another treat...

Now, he is sweeping through outer space with the guidance and archaic wisdom of the old Norse spirits on a quest for the ultimate truth.

As simple as that!

I've had the same avatar for almost 5 years, so I can't even remember who helped me with it.

First I found an old picture that was used in an ad for Mission: Impossible, the TV show in the 60's with Leonard Nimoy. Him looking over his shoulder seemed to match up with my user name.

One of the other members helped me out by adding my name to it and the PANIC ! that floats out of it.

Plus the bright colour of yellow makes it easy to find my posts on a page when I look for them.

Someone gave this Bob Dylan avatar to me. Someone also gave me several of his albums a long time ago and told me to listen to them over and over and listen some more. I like Bob, he has coolness about him in all his pics.

i think mine speaks for itself ,

a friend of mine did it for me . and i do happen to love volcanoes .

My first one used to just be a graphic novel representation of myself. It's what I used to use for all of my internet avatars.

Then one day last autumn I was walking down the road and saw this leaf just sitting there in the gravel. It just caught my eye, so I took a picture of it. And now it's my new avatar.

I'll probably swap it out for something else sometime soon.

I made my own. The background is stars with that jibberish from The Matrix over it. I'm not a huge Matrix fan, but you know...it fits with the name which is one that I use when I wish to remain anonymous. I have quite a web presence outside of ATS.

On top of that I have an image of the sun tinted green. Then I have a pen from a logo I created for myself because I'm a freelance writer. I have images from my two favorite conspiracies: JFK and 911. MLK Jr. is there just because I like him and I think his death was shady as well. I'm not as well-versed on him as the others.

That is all...it's all glued together with Photoshop. Oh, and overlay of the word "truth" because that is what I seek most.

This is a great thread and I really enjoyed reading the background of everyone's avatars. I have an avatar thread somewhere in BTS. You can reach it from my profile. There are some images there you can grab or let me know. I'd be happy to make one for you.

Well, mine is just a funny little frog on a motorbike!
Just google searched 'funny frog' and bam, that one jumped out at me (pun sort of intended )
The name is from a song I love, called Funny Little Frog by a cool little Scottish band Belle and Sebastian..
Someone on my intro thread put it perfectly, 'frog on a hog' and so it'll stay!
Shame I don't have a motorbike really!
