I should say, anti-smokers vs non smokers - non-smokers are ok, it's the anti-smokers I want to punch. I admit it, I like to smoke now and then. I like to live dangerously in general.

I don't have a problem with non-smokers, it's the anti-smokers I hate, the one's that feel they need to get all up in your face to tell you that there is a door to a restaurant within ten feet. It's that type of smarmy little dweeb that could never get a date to a dance so they need to feel that they could impact the better looking kids by acting as a hall monitor. Like those MADD HO's that can't mind their own business, they all suck.

Anti-Smokers just suck. They're like some kind of psychotic that can't mind their own business, and trust me - it's not about cigarettes, they're knobs about everything else too... They just can't mind their own business.

I love it when these dorks try to say smoking is like heroin, only some deranged pod would come up with that... I mean come on, have you ever heard of someone getting on their knees for a stranger in an alley because they were jonesing for a Marlboro? i don't think so.

I don't care if I take 7 years off of my life, because if it did happen, it's probably the 7 crappiest years I would have had anyway. Some old one foot in the grave glom who can't even have a good time - No Thank You, take it.

Tell me about it. I know i shouldn't smoke. I know the damage it does. The fact you are now made to feel like a criminal for just sparking up nowadays. I live in England and Pub culture has been a massive part of our country for years. A place where one could go smoke and drink and be merry. With the smoking ban, all the pubs smell like sterilized tea rooms, you now have parents bring their kids to pubs, and all the smokers are gone. Everyone knows smokers are more interesting than anti smokers. when you go to a pub you want interesting people not families showing off their new buggie

The USA was founded on God, Tobacco, and Guns.

They've taken away two, but i'm keeping my tobacco to cope with the other two!

I've heard that quite often.

Tobacco, is very dangerous stuff, especially what phillip puts in it. Although I know and I choose to do it.

It's my fault blame me, not someone else, this is what it comes down to.

I smoke, I am a smoker, I've cut my life expectancy because of this.

It's simple, we all need to start taking responsiblity, although other things, per se should not be allowed because it doesn't allow self control, I can quit anytime I want, I truly like it though, have quit, and just find it more easier for me to be in a social enviroment with it.

I love tobacco, I was raised with it, I adore it, it's nice, it takes that stress of the day off, and allows me to think clearly, i'm ok with anything that allows you to think clearly, so far, only tobacco can do that.

I was literally waiting for it, the people contemplator and lefty brown.

To come and say something hateful, whilst I wait for their empathetic sides to come out somewhere else, and say we're all equal blah blah hippy mumbo jumbo.

Their just as conceited as the rest of us, to come and spend their worthwhile time to attack a group of individuals, I mean this is what racists do don't they, I may have the same skin colour, but not the same belief so attack me.

It's fun to see the hypocrisy on here, albeit I haven't seen this individuals before I'd think they had communicated before, they know each other.

I'll smoke and i'll die, but i'll give my life to the devotion of science and furthering of physics and medical science, what will you do lefty brown?

Just a simple question since you wish death so easy on everyone, i'm sure if your child or mom smoked, you would surely wish death on them, go ahead and let them die!

hahahahha, dude, you are so delusional

I'm sure many crack addicts say the same thing about their addiction.

The problem is that when you're gasping for your fix, your mind is fixated on one thing only, and you can't 'think clearly' until the craving is satiated.

Are you honestly saying that you never had the ability to think clearly in your life until you started smoking?

Test after test has demonstrated that nicotine (and the other couple hundred lethal chemicals put into the ciggies by your mates at Phillip Morris) increase stress.

Now, if you're talking pure tobacco, rather than the chemical tubes with a tampon strapped on the end, then you've got a case about smoking being a 'grounding' experience, and there are definitely benefits to be had.

I'm a smoker; I know the damage smoking's doing to my body and do intend on attempting (again) to quit in the near future. I enjoy smoking, its my choice on I smoke or not.

I don't need to be constantly told about the harmful effects to my body.

What really enrages me though is anti-smokers! If you don't like the fact I'm smoking then fair enough but to stare at me like I'm a convicted rapist whose just escaped the mental hospital is beyond me!

Before the smoking ban I really can't recall any occasion where a non-smoker has asked me to put my cigarette out or to move away from them, okay being fair it's probably happened the once.

Since the smoking ban it's like every non-smoker has become an anti smoker and they have all of a sudden found a voice, gained confidence.

Now that it's illegal to smoke in pubs all non-smoker's quite happily inform you that your poisioning their air or ask you to move away.

Let me ask you this; since the smoking ban we have to smoke outside usually in a smoking area. The smoking area usually is the existing outdoor area where people would eat/drink outside in the sun.

Summer's is on its way and I'm pretty sure alot of non-smoker's will be in the presence of smokers outside. Where are we going to go when someone ask's us to move???

Non-Smoker - "Could you move your poisioning my air?"

Smoker - "Well I can't smoke inside, thats why I'm here outside"

Non-Smoker - "Thats not my problem! Take your filthy habbit eleswhere!"

Thought 2nd hand smoke was bad and killing innocent people have a look at 3rd hand smoke.. innocent people now getting arsenic, mercury and all sorts of crap all over their bodies thanks to the smokers. Not to mention ones constantly chucking butts out the windows, drains around here lead to the sea so thanks a lot dumb asses. And don't get me started on all the women sitting in their cars at school pickup smoking with their kids in the cars. Nice one. But hey I guess if you go into an isolated spot, smoke up, discard your clothes, butts and have a shower to wash off the toxins, and then go into public I fully support you.

Don't be so niave, if that's your approach then I presume you don't have a car?

Because if you do drive one then are you responsible for the exhuast fumes that it expels? The same exhuast fumes that probably contain most of the same chemicals that cigarette smoke contains and thus damages people's health.

Or have you never dropped a piece of litter? Thrown a crisp packet on the floor when you couldn't find a bin?

What about the women who drink alcohol or eat unhealthy during pregnancy?

The problems you are describing (damaging the environment, people's health, litter, parents not doing the best for their children/child's health) can be attributed to any group of people not just smokers!

I never said it was just smokers, but singling out smokers is on topic. You go ahead and justify it if it makes you feel better. I'm sure that tiny tumor currently in your left lung and growing will give you more important things to worry about than my posts. P.S. friend of mine died at 42 from stroke due to smoking. It's funny how you guys think it removes only 7yrs of life, but that's only if you're lucky. Spin the wheel and Enjoy your death sticks.

As far as i knew i thought everyone who smoked their first cig thought it was disgusting?
So everyone that likes it now would have a certain dependancy that makes them like it?

Ah well, I don't really mind smokers, but smoking is optional and most people I know smoke regardless of where they are, even if the smoke is being blown in everyone's face.
With the only exception being smoking next to people with specific allergies.

Maybe I should start licking popsicles every time a 'rude' smoker lights a cig, and spray him / her with melting popsicle.

No offense to the smokers that keep kids / other people in mind though

For all you know it's possible that you currently have a tiny tumor growing inside your brain or you could possibly have any one out of a multitude of cancers and yet not be showing any of the signs.

Conversely I could also die tomorrow after being hit by a bus or I could fall down the stairs in the next hour and break my neck...

There are a lot of life style choices that we as individuals make that affect our mortality. Drinking too much caffeine is detrimental to one's health...

I'll choose how I live my life and if I want to smoke then thats my decision.

I understand the argument about affecting someone's health with 2nd hand smoke but seriously do you really think walking past someone who is smoking at the bus stop is really going to affect your lungs?

The point of the OP is about people who hate smokers.

Unfortunately there are many factors that affect the overall health of everyone, smokers and non smokers included. If you want to try and lead a healthy life and you want that for other people tackling people smoking really is at the bottom of the problems you could be focusing on.

We're not qualia devil, or however you spell it.

I'm a smoker, very courtious, make it a priority to not upset others, and try my arse off not too,

Yet whining seems to get the best of people, since their only born to complain!

How about quit complaining, we'd be smoking e cigs if it wasn't such a danger? Fight for that eh?

You are the same guys who fart in public and blame it on someone else, we know you did it, now fess up!

We smoke in public, but of course, you all drive only electric cars, and do everything through the earth, if so you live far away and don't worry about us.

This thread is meant for arguement, hence this is my last post.

To stir up arguement and anger people, I get it.

I didn't find my first cigarette that bad to be honest, I obviously enjoy one now more than I did then as you grow accustomed to smoking. Most smokers do have a dependancy on cigarettes as Nicotine is addictive, smoking also trigger's the release of certain chemicals in the brain that we also grow to like.

I never blow smoke in the direction of a specific person and certainly not in someones face. If I was sitting near a non-smoker I would direct the smoke away from them out of respect.

I'm sorry, but do you know the reason why anti-smokers want smoking to stop? It's because many of us are ALLERGIC to the smoke that you (whether you mean to or not) blow in our faces! We don't like it, and would prefer there to be clean air to breathe, so that we don't have to walk around in a bubble! That's why we tell you to get out of the doorway to a restaurant, so that the smoke doesn't blow into the doorway of the eatery we're about to enter, so we can breathe while we're there!

We all have to live on this planet. We'll let you smoke as long as you do it in a place where we don't have to breathe in the smoke. Meaning: please keep out of the doorways of restaurants and other gathering places so that we don't have to go into anaphalactic shock every time we go out.

Otherwise, we'll foot you the hospital bill.
