You think that is bad?

Us Aussies have been laughing at the sheer ignorance of (many) Americans for years now.

We even have a TV show dedicated to letting us laugh at idiots:

The Chasers War On Everything

My god, we are truly a nation of idiots.
Sometimes I can barely control the urge to RUN LIKE HELL and get out of this dump before it's too late. It's a beautiful country, but most of the people suck.

there are stupid people everywhere.
you can focus on one group of stupid people and magnify how dumb they are all you want.
doesn't make them more dumb.
or does "dumb" even have degrees of itself?
the main reason i think the U.S. is shown to have dumb people in it is because everybody looks there for anything.
even dumb people.
you don't see videos about "OMG LOOK AT HOW STUPID UGANDANS ARE HAHAHAH!"
you see american videos about dumb people because it's almost like.. some kind of cruel ironic oxy-moron.. the world's leading country is filled with many uneducated civilians.

yes it's embarassing.
but it's an illusion as well.
remember...there are many idiots everywhere.

Yeah well the rest of us at ATS are probably sitting here watching that in disbelief thinking "Well damn, I wish they would have asked ME."

Because you know what I'd have done if he HAD asked me? I woulda said "That's easy, 01. Now I want you to tell me why your station hasn't given people like CIT and P4T all the warranted attention they deserve on their research? And what's more, why are THEY having to do it when YOU people are the media?"

I would have loved to seen him try to answer that.

There are just as many ignorant people in Australia, fooffstarr. Just depends who you ask. The difference is they're all happy people living their "ignorance is bliss" lives, while the informed stay stressed out with everything that is going on.

No offense, but I disagree.

It isn't about being stupid. It is about being complacent. It is about being so focused on your own little world that you fail to take in anything around you.

Give the average American a white picket fence, a Prius and a Dairy Queen and they wouldn't care what the government did in their name.

Think about this man.

America started 2 wars based on the September 11 attacks

How is it not sickening that so many Americans don't even know the details of those attacks?

And no, I don't hate America or it's people. I hate the attitude and sheer carelessness of the average American.

Yeah we have plenty of stupid people here in Australia. Thing is, even the stupid ones know our historic events and dates.

Ask any bogan about Gallipoli and they can tell you the date, year and what happened.

I just find the level of complacency that seeps from these videos horribly disturbing.

'Oh, I can't remember the date of 9/11. Or what happened. But man, did we get those A-rabs gud'.

Man. We need to do a better job than this. I am so embarrassed to be in this country, because this is just the tip of the iceberg.
I would love to say luckily it is only 30% but then I am reminded of how big 30% is.

I am so disappointed in my fellow brethren. :shk:

This country is completely full of idiots. We may need to deport a few to Canada to make room.

This guy could have told them the eight year anniversary of the attacks is coming up this year and they wouldn't have got it. A question like "What year did today happen?" probably would have stumped them.

This isn't tough. It's not like he was asking them to name the year the Djiboutian Civil War began. We're talking about the most deadly terrorist attack to ever occur in their home country and they can't even name the year. That is pathetic.

After watching this video, I may have lost all hope for this country had I had any hope left.

That gave me a loller attack.

Anyway, I'm not surprised. Some of the questions Jay Leno asked people on the street they could not answer could have been answered by a retarded ferret. Like asking who the president was and getting Al Gore for an answer. After GWB's re election.

I hear what you're saying... and it is embarrassing.

but look at the bright side though...
they've been single-handedly given the best opportunity imaginable to be challenged in their own spiritual path.
to cower and follow, or to learn and awaken?
what better opportunity for growth could one be given?

yes it is sickening.
but the dawn cannot come until after the dark night, can it now?

there are still many good Americans out there.
many of them about to shine very soon... very brightly....
....points of light.. as it were..

Don't worry, TrueAmerican, there are many Australians that are also this DUMB, like on the video.

Many are also very IGNORANT, SCARRED & too focused on mainstream media, and will not admit the truth.

The Medical Profession, including The Mental Health Profession are supporting the real TRUTH and the number is growing. This is where things will change a lot in Australia, The U.S.A, England, Japan & many other Countries, but not all people.

Many of us Aussies- support and understand the real truth, behind 9/11 and are helping the general public WAKE UP AND USE THEIR EYES/BRAIN properly in different ways. Our independent media, (hopefully some mainstream media to) are & will continue to support the truth as well.,

Many Aussies like myself are doing as much as they can, and more by even working around the clock overtime, I can assure you of that.

Check out the Australian 9/11 Truth websites.

No one on ATS, or any other relevant website will ever give up.

Well just for the record, I chose my words carefully. I never said stupid, and I never said dumb. I said ignorant. And there's a difference. And btw, I've always wanted to visit Australia, you guys are way cool- love yas!

But seriously, let's be careful with the adjectives, shall we?

That video was hilarious.

I think educating the masses about anything is impossible at this point. Except with huge social disasters that will surely wake some people up.

I have just lost all hope for humanity.

I remember the exact moment I first heard about it, and I was NINE!!! It is probably the only day I remember well before the 6th grade, and I have a fairly weak memory of my childhood.

At this point I don't find it funny at all; I find it quite sickening.

That wasn't a insult towards you TrueAmerican, or any other American. These people (in the video) are all over the world!

I did use the word Ignorant, but was referring to many people from all walks of life, especially some Australians. A lot also don't have the time or are not interested.

They will be interested, sometime in the future though wont they?

Yes using the word dumb was a bit clumsy.

it was directed to the The Australian Thread Starter. He should do a bit more research before he starts threads like this - Don't you agree?

I know that many Americans don't believe the OS anymore and know a few personally

I am supporting you and every other wise person on ATS.

Cheers :up

Oh I hear ya man, and I didn't take it as an insult at all. Promise. I might be stupid and dumb, but I will beg to differ with anyone that calls me ignorant!

As opposed to taking some kind of "informed, superior vantage point" against people that don't know, we'd do better to try and just keep informing them. But I know, some are just never going to get it- either because they don't care- or because they can handle the truth. Some just don't have time- but they need to make some.

Thruthers are the minority by far.

Think that is bad? For more american idiocy, might I suggest searching on youtube "Rick Mercer Talking to americans" ... Yes, urging Canadians to stop the clubbing of baby seals in Saskatchewan is just priceless

Back to the topic at hand. I have heard about such polls and Americans not remembering what year 9/11 occurred. They interviewed the wrong people. They should have ran that poll in Congress to see how many politicians forgot!
