Military Hush-Up: Incoming Space Rocks Now Classified

Could these satellites detect an explosion on board an airliner at high altitude? Like for instance the one that went down in the Atlantic this week?

That is a real good question. Considering the timing of this coinciding with the crash, I would be curious to know this aswell. It would definatly feed a conspiracy theory about the plane being hijacked instead of a malfunction.

First of all, increased meteor activity would be seen by amateurs on the land too, and secondly I think you're thinking of Armageddon, not Deep Impact. Armageddon was scientifically horrible for many reasons; don't get your astronomy lessons from hollywood.

Apparently the satellites monitor gamma ray and x-ray bursts.

Betelgeuse in Orion is about to go Supernova...



IF, Betelgeuse, pronounced BEE-Tle-juice, is oriented with one of its poles towards us, then we would be fried.

Keeping that info from the public would prevent mass panic.

I'm not sure what the connection is, but NASA seems to be "inflating" the number of sunspots recently, and the MDI image from SOHO hasn't been updated in days.

The astrophysicists and amateurs aren't too happy about this, as they can't verify these reported new spots as easily.

If Betelgeuse sends a gamma ray burst our way, your telescope will not see it - but these satellites would have detected it....

The radiation would reach us before the light did.

*The satellites (which we no longer have access to) would detect the gamma radiation long before the supernova could be detected visibly.

This would probably give us all enough time to prepare and panic.

With the news about Betelgeuse; having these satellites detect even an unrelated increase in gamma radiation would have a drastic effect on the market and global economy.

If the world even mistakenly thinks it is at an end - people and nations will use the opportunity to settle old scores. So even if the gamma ray burst (or asteroid) misses us completely, the news that is was going to hit us would cause mayhem.

Think War of the Worlds type hysteria - except with nukes, jets, bombs, guns and reason to use them; because we will all think we will be dead soon anyways....


Maybe the military already detected the burst and stopped the data-flow before the researchers and scientists had the chance to discover it for themselves.

(They do not give scientists real-time data... It is filtered and there is a delay - just like with NASA. It looks like the delay might have came in handy this time around...)

The most rich and powerful people on the planet have all been meeting up lately. Maybe they are all getting ready for the event that finally gets rid of all the useless eaters while they sit it out underground.

I have mentioned before here on the ATS boards that if a satellite were shot down, since a satellite contains so much electronics ( copper, etc ... ) it would appear very much like a bolide upon reentry to the Earth's atmosphere.

Data formerly available from these military satellites might make it easy to prove such a 'shoot down' occurred, hence all this data has now been 'restricted.'

Just a thought ...

The radiation would reach us before the light did." and I mark those statements as both true but then you go and say this..."*The satellites (which we no longer have access to) would detect the gamma radiation long before the supernova could be detected visibly." and again you are correct to a point but I would posit that as these satellites are in geostationary orbits looking BACK AT EARTH!!! :shk: and would be within 1 light second or so range of earth itself and so when they detect the GRB it would give us poofteenth of a bees phalus in microseconds to take appropriate action and find effective shelter because within just minutes you , I and everything else will be sorta toasty and glowing at the radioactive end of the EMS and thats not to mention the long term Ozone depletion etc.

You can no longer prove that. And these satellite could detect an incoming gamma ray burst of such magnitude - and would do so regardless of their orientation... then we would all die immediately after.

But I am glad you trust your military so much.

They have always so forthcoming and honest in the past, and it is not like these satellites are a strategic asset about which most information is still classified....

Explanation: Not a problem or concern for if they remain within the confines of the outermost planets orbits [baring some FTL drive etc] they would still be within 1 light day of Earth and that gives the TPTB STILL NO TIME TO REACT! Because when the sentinel satellites detect the GRB which is traveling at exactly luminous speeds, their transmission to earth via radio or laser communications will be just that little bit behind and out of phase with the GRB front.

What are "they"?

You have no way of knowing how much advance notice these satellites would be able to provide in such an event.

You also do not have anyway of knowing how much data is filtered before it is released. These are military satellites...

1.) Gamma Ray Burst from outside the solar system
2.) Solar flares from the sun
3.) C.M.E. from the sun
4.) Bollide or Bollides which might be E.L.E's
5.) Nuclear detnoations which they want to conceal
6.) Anti-Nuclear or EMP devices they want to conceal

All sounds like reasonable possibilities for those in the know
to keep us in the dark.
