I dunno how I got back

I don't remember

it's not like you need a GPS with you

your soul "knows" how

not a great answer , but the only one I know

as a kid I did it quite alot , stopped somewhere around 9yo

just flew out again a month or so ago...have no idea how I got out , or back...

sorry...

Getting back is as simple as WANTING to go back.
You want to and you return. Speed of light and all.......

There is a serious falling feeling when you quickly rush back into your body, and I am CONVINCED that every falling dream I ever had in my life was just my soul returning from 'wherever' it was.

a serious falling feeling? oh wow, in the past few months i have had several of those. i will be lying there asleep. it is the middle of the night. all of a sudden i snap awake feeling disorientated and it feels exactly like i rolled off the edge of my bed. i spread my hands out, and end up slapping the bed as my feet shoot up. i am still in the middle of my bed though. the feeling is pretty intense.

if this really is the oobe feeling, then unfortunatly i dont remember the trip. i have not remembered a single dream since about the time i was 5 or 6. maybe i was oobeing and i just cant remember it? haha, oh well

that makes me wonder...

maybe we oobe more often then we think, but pass it off as 'dream'. I guess the idea is to hone your skills to where you can control the oobe, and recognize you're in control. thats tough.

however, most of us can remember flying in our dreams. I know I have. Its vague, but I remember one dream as a child, in a big industrial yard of some sort, and flying around. But it wasnt like superman flying like gravity didnt matter anymore, there were still rules -and I seemingly figured them out in my dream.

In my dream (oobe?) if I jumped into the air, and jumped again before I landed on the ground, I would gain altitude. I could do this over and over and remain suspended, even traveling big distances. Bouncing really. The whole concept may have derived from some videogame I was into, or just my imagination...dont know, but now that I reminisce on those flying dreams, they do bare a resemblence to oobe stories today, i.e. flying at the speed of thought, 'jumping' from one spot in space to the next...

Its probably not related, but thought Id share. Maybe my childhood interpreted the oobe in such terms that I could understand better?

Any of you successfull oobers got anything new to share? I havent really tried in a while. My life is too stressfull at the moment, I dont think I can give it a worthy effort. Back at it soon enough though.. best of luck oobing yall.

YES YES YES !!! A serious falling feeling!

I know you KNOW what I am talking about! I think everybody does this......I really do! That falling feeling is MOST DEFINATELY your Soul returning from an Astral journey, of this I have NO doubt.
Going from the speed of light to an inert resting body is a big jolt and you SERIOUSLY feel this!

And YES....I think our minds may turn what parts we remember of an OOBE into something akin to a dream so we can process it. Memories of flying dreams I am about CERTAIN are flashes of memory of an OOBE.
(PLEASE notice I said ABOUT cetain......I will tell you if I know something FOR SURE)

I read in one of the Robert Monroe books (forget WICH one) where he is talking about an OOBE, and seeing this VAST SPACE, like a huge room in the astral..... with litterally thousands of humans sitting or standing as if tranced out. He asks this companion he is OOBEing with what was wrong with all the people, and he was told....."oh, those are just the SLEEPERS, they never realise they are actually here and just keep acting like they are just asleep......and they never remeber being here anyway, they don't really WANT to....it goes against the reality the have chosen to believe in"

THAT really got me pumped up......trying so much HARDER to lucid dream. I got a few more books on lucid dreaming and studied more on that subject.

I am sure you can get the Robert Monroe books at the liberary just ask!
........if this subject interests you, stop fooling around and READ those books!

I get the falling feeling all the time during the night, an "unconscious OOBE"
But thats probably what it is if you have a fallign feel when its conscious. I also read here : www.abovetopsecret.com...
That its not your soul so your body cant be taken over, I might have to give this a try sometime soon (thats what i was afraid of happening). Hmm..if i get it, I'm off to the Orion Nebula!

**************************
******** WARNING *********
**************************

Be careful, I don't want none of you getting hurt!

Inducing astral projection is in the realm of the occult. You should only astral project when you body allows for it, like when you do it in your sleep or lucid dream.

A fair warning, never induce it with meditation, crystals, tapes, books etc. The physiological effects are devastating, you should only astral project when your body allows for it. Usually you naturally project when you are in a light sleep, or borderline deep sleep. So if you can catch this you can astral project, fully conscious, without problems. This is the safe way to project and the only way.

Astral projecting is great, but don't do it all the time. To much of a good thing isn't good, try to catch it once a month if you can, that's it. Astral Projection is NOT A GAME. Use it only to give yourself a better perspective on life and with creation, not to fly around and watch other people "get their freak on" (seriously) or spy on people.

Edit: Oh, how can I forget, DON'T DO DRUGS or drink alcohol (at all). This can really screw things up for you, bad. Stay away from government installations. Heard rumors that there are strong force fields around those places.

I am going to seriously argue with you on this point........NO ITS ~NOT~ occult oriented.......its SPIRITUAL.........

If what your claiming is true, then PRAYER would also be of the occult, because your attempting to comune with other realms..... in the way that you try to litterally visit other realms via OOBE...I have to say that both PRAYER and OOBE are Spiritual experiances and in NO way of the occult.

Your just wrong.......in order to project into the astral you MUST be fairly highly evolved, vibrating at quite a high rate, and very 'light' being...........absolutely the OPPOSITE of darkness wich is where the occult has planted deep roots.

You CANNOT force this to happen no matter how bad you want it........it ONLY can happen if your Spiritually attuned and able. Only if your ready.......prior to my being 'helped' out I had to answer MANY questions......my readiness was tested hard. It is said when the studant is ready the teacher will appear. I believe when you are ready for growth in any way it will become available to you..........NOBODY can FORCE this and 'get hurt'. It just wont happen if your not ready, plain and simple.

Please don't use childish scare tactics on this thread like the WARNING SIGN........
the motto of ATS is to ~DENY IGNORANCE~ not spread your 'personal opinions' like butter.

Tell us all WHERE your information comes from? Give us all a link to a book? a link to a thread? ANYTHING solid

TONS of links on this long thread and NOT ONCE does anyone make this OCCULT referance your making now........

...............so PROOVE it to us IF you can, be my guest....................

Sorry there is a bit of a misunderstanding theRiverGoddess, the key word is "Inducing". That is dangerous for your mentality. Inducing involves procedures that are considered to be occult based. Here is a clipping from an article on astral projection.

This concept [of Astral Projection] is associated with the occult and the New Age movement, and is not accepted by the majority of the scientific community.

en.wikipedia.org...

Occult and New Age movement, nothing spiritual about both of those. Remember though, the occult doesn't necessarily mean that it is satanic, the occult by definition is anything pertaining to the metaphysics and alternate religions. Astral Projection however, gives you a profound effect on your spirituality indirectly and a better perspective on life and creation.

If you naturally astral project that's different, your body does that anyways when you sleep, you just have to hitch on for the ride.

Can it be induced? You bet it can. Is it good for you? Heck no!
Have I ever induced it?.... yes (nothing occultic though, Monroe institute tapes, but I soon found the errors of that), 100% of anyone can even with a bad state of mind, but it's not safe/fun.

It took me years to be able to do it now by natural, spiritual ways.

Astral Projection is mentioned in the bible too, so it is not a bad, satanic thing then.

Edit: Why so harsh theRiverGoddess? Usually your alot nicer, but I may have struck a nerve, so I'm deeply sorry. Just a statment on stackloads of research I put into this and people's accounts on AP. It can be induced trust me, it's very easy too.

Edit: Sorry for post-editing alot.

It's okay. Everyone has there bad days. Hurting your feelings wasn't one of my intentions, I felt really bad, but thanks for clearing that up. I just needed to justify my findings.

This is a very good point. AP is quite an extreme new experience for anyone. Not that it's hard, but when you are about to project you WILL know whether or not you're ready to leave your body, and almost assuredly will act accordingly.

i guess im not ready. ive tried too many times, even had minor success -but something in the back of my head always says no. i seemingly walk right up to the doors, vibrations and all, and shy away. my waking life might need some fine tuning before Ill be allowed into the astral... hmm.

mods, i tried to add this to my above post via edit, wouldnt let me.....(?)

anyways, wanted to add;

golden eagles warnings do sound reasonable. The whole oobe thing seems a bit too good to be true. Almost sacred, something that should be respected, not forced. I can understand that.

however, if such warnings are warranted, what should we make of the explosive interest in oobing as of late? I dont know how long astral projection has been known about to large populations. Maybe its just the internet. Maybe its something spirituals all over the world have known about since forever, but they hoarded it for themselves? Is it just being discovered for the first times, or perhaps is humanity (as a whole) ready for these quests?

I have no doubt to the validity of oobing. I wonder though if it is something best left to chance and the natural flow of things. What happens when everyone starts forcing it. What happens when it becomes exploited? Should we pay a bit more reverance to it?

-just some more babbles about my favorite daydream... 'the oobe'

This is a serious point, though i guess its gonna sound odd.

A few days ago, maybe a week, it was early morning and i woke up, and as i drifted off to sleep, my whole body began shaking, a stage i've managed to get to by trying before (though i;ve enver had an OBE, just get to the vibrations). And as i lay there, i said to myself, 'no, stay here, i don;t wnat to go anywhere now' (look up my last posts in this thread to see why i wasn;t so willing to have an OBE), and i managed to wriggle my fingers a bit, which i hoped would wake me, but it did not, i continued to shake and then i heard a sound. Or rather sounds.

I heard what sounded like a crowd, a great many clamouring voices, possibly screaming. Mainly from my left ear, which was on the bed at the time.

This, naturally scared me, and i tried and tried to bring myself out of this, and thankfully managed it. I wasn;t as terrified as i was after my lats experience where i had the impression of a great many beings around me chanting, but it still felt bad.

Now i guess it could have just been my mind slipping into a dream, but after the last time i woke and shook, and the things i saw the impressions of that time, it was a little worrying.

Anyone else ever had anythign like that? Any advice?

Now, i drink, a fair amount, and i;ve heard thats bad for APing, maybe that had soemthign to do with it, i heard that it makes you project to a lower state, rather than a higher one, but i really don;t know.

Any help and thoughts would be greatly appreciated. Prehaps it was just my mind playing tricks on me. But if i wasnt i want to know what to do...

You may have had these experiences because of drinking, especially before bed. I'm pretty sure this was the case. Alcohol has quite an effect on your brain patterns, even if in small amounts.

I have not read anything about SHAKING as part of Meditation or OOBE.
I also have not had this kind of experiance.......except when alcohol was part of the equation. So I must concur with GoldEagle here, and say that drinking must have been the reason for the shaking.

Well that'd make some sense. However i've had this shaking/vibrations (can anyone give me an idea if theres a true difference here, or if i'm just discribing it badly), a few times some years ago, before i started drinking, i believe.

So this is a little odd. But untill it happens again on a night where i;ve had nothing, i won;t worry about it...

i have only reached vibrations once or twice - and in the state of mind that I was in - details are fuzzy, but I can attest that my memory at least likens them to very real physical shaking.

Now, understand - I am an ameature in the lowest form. Ive never had a concious oobe, never controlled a lucid dream - and only had a few vibrations. Im really no athority to speak on the subject.

I remember once, I was taking a nap downstairs at my parents house. it was quite peaceful, considering I had college roomates and I usually dont sleep until late late, and usually under the influence of some sort, thus I never really had the right surroundings to practice.

Anyways, I was laying down to this afternoon nap, and the setting was just right so I attempted oobe. After my body fell asleep it was really hard to hold onto my thoughts - Im sure yall can relate. It was tough keeping my focus and not just trailing into sleep. I kept focusing on my goal. The oobe. I got to the point that I was practically dreaming. I could hear the rushing in my ears, and the vibrations seemed to be mostly in my legs. When I conciously recognized them as vibrations - it really did seem like my legs were shaking, but of course in that state of mind it could have all been halucinated. I was pretty much asleep by then, just barely holding on. Well, as soon as I recognized the vibrations - I got all excited and thought I was about to oobe, and unfortunatley woke myself up in excitment. I sat up - dissapointed - all sleepy and such.

At that point I gave up and just dove into sleep.
