I think history would show that your post is ignorant and irrational.

My post is only a link to a news article.

The post with the news article is not what I was referring to.

"You're right, I don't like religious people but I especially don't like the muslims who are in my opinion the most violent/irrational of all."

This is the post I was referring to, but you knew that.

What is the problem, the article explicitly says that he did it because of his religion..
I agree that media want to brainwash us but this is not a hint to direct us to believe that maybe he did it because he is a muslim...It is all over the news that he did it because of his religion.

Did you ever think that just MAYBE your conditioned to believe things of that sort, ever so subtly, so once the news mentions a murder on an armed services member, you will just think, "Oh, well there go them Muslims again!!"

Give me a break. This sounds like a story the MSM was told to pick up to incite hate and fear. 'Terrorists attacking in America! Better lock down now so WERE SAFE!'

Not buying it. Nor am I buying the 'reasoning' behind the malicious opinions toward Muslims.

If you read the article the Chief of Police stomped that notion fairly well. The part you don't like was taken from the suspect during an interview with the police.

Just because you don't like it doesn't mean its not the truth.

The heading should be "Human being takes the life of another human being on the planet Earth".

Until it does we will never be truly free.

I'm not sure I follow your logic...
Would you mind developing a little more please?
Are you saying that no details should ever being taken into account by a news article?

When you ignore history to validate your opinion, then yes that is ignorant.

An opinion can either be a smart one or an ignorant one. Just because its your opinion doesn't mean it is a smart one.

True. It is in the news because this is why it really happened. Because of his religion, I get that.

My question is Why? Why is this story told the way it is? If the title of the article was 'Local crazy man killed armed service member because of his beliefs', it would not be nearly as effective as pointing out that a 'Muslim killed because of his religious beliefs'

Talk about targeting certain emotional response toward a general group as a whole. That is all I'm saying.

I believe i mentioned that the Crusades happened a while ago.

Maybe you are little too condescending and judgmental for this type of discussion .

Well i think that is the emotional response the perpetrator wanted when he killed.
That is what terrorism is.

I'm not at all. I pointed out your errors and while you acknowledged them you brushed them off because they happened a long time ago. I pointed to WW2 being a religous war for the Germans and you ignored that point and continue to point to the crusades.

Just because you know history doesn't meant that you aren't ignoring it.

If you find that to be condescending and judgemental then I can see their is no changing your mind and will leave you to your uniformed opinion about muslims.

Words Like "Muslim" "U.S. Soldier" and "Arkansas" are all unnecessary
and serve only to divide us. The facts of the story are that one human being took the life of another human being. Anymore than that and you
are going to be flirting with an agenda.

And how was ww2 a religious war for the German?
Please lets tone down, I don't like how this is turning.

And so are Christians right? Aren't most of the men and women in the military Christians of some sort?

There's always rotten apples in any religion, country, gender, age group, afliliation, etc.

Plus, the article says "probably" killed for religious reasons, so, it is not a fact....yet.

I agree and some of these demographics have more rotten apples than others.

I will let you do your own research into that matter. I find doing your own leg work helps you to accept and remember what you find.

I don't see how this is turning down a wrong path. If you think it is then it is because you are getting flustered and feel your anger rising. I am calm, cool and collected. My "tone" is how you take it as all your seeing is words. If you don't take critisim well then that is on you, not me.

So nothing to back up your claim ?
Not very surprising.

Such a passive aggressive tone is actually very entertaining, keep it up!

Guess that means you won't take the time to enlighten yourself?

Don't rely on others to educate you. You are at your computer, instead of choosing to be ignorant in the matter, take a little time to educate yourself.

If you haven't taken the time by Wendsday I will post a few sources for you to ignore. I hope you won't waste that time by not looking into it for yourself.

Awesome, that gives you some time to build a case for : ww2 was a religious war for the Germans. better start working on it.

In a debate when one claims something they must provide evidence to back it up, it is not the other party's responsibility to provide such proofs .

I am assuming this is the first time you have ever read the news.

What you should be asking yourself is why the MSM thought it fit to mention the guys religion.

Could it be to spread hatred?

Hey...it worked.

BTW...i am a Muslim. Care to accuse me to my internet face that i am a potential murderer?

[edit on Mon Jun 1st 2009 by geek101]

Why did they feel it was appropriate to list his religious convictions in the article? That's just MSM stirring the pot in terms of racial tension. Plain and simple, the alleged shooter is a psychopathic murderer. He is delusional and his religion has nothing to do with it. Just another nutcase that needs to be thrown in a cage or take the ride on old sparky.
