It's fast, but I don't think I'd call it a UFO.
Cool video though.

Yes, it could be!
Or maybe not.

At one point I saw an object pass from right to left, early on; Is this what you are talking about?

Wow, that "thing" was extremely fast. It's going to be interesting to see what peoples opinions are about that footage.

yeah.... around 1:14 into the video

That thing looks like it's really bookin if it's an airplane. It'd have to be at a pretty high altitude to give an illusion of going faster than it really is, but still.
I don't see anything flashing, so I immediately think it's a sat, but I am pretty sure they don't have sats orbiting beneath the shuttle or space station orbits, though. Could be wrong on that, of course, but sats are the only thing that I could imagine going that quick.
Anyone have any idea of the exact geography below the thing so we can estimate a speed calculation?
I seriously doubt it's a passenger plane.

why not?
As M.Stubbs says there are three different phenomena, he discovered in his .4000hours of footage; 1) Vehicles that are seen in common terrestrial airspace, 2) those that are the same as one, yet seen in space and, 3) the "streaking-rod like " phenomenon.
So I say, why not!

Is there a possibility of a satilite?

Or some sort of space junk?

That'd be my guess too. The object moves completely from the right frame to the left... even though because it's dark it looks like it appears only slightly on the right side.

I could see the pulsing and does anyone else notice that it is moving in a kind of stop- start motion?
cool find!! S&F

But...all this space "junk"we now are hearing about is way farther up than this, one, lonely UFO ! Space junk, including the "new" junk is a danger to our satellites because they...like all this talked about 'junk'...

are thousands of miles up, & not the 200-300 miles that the shuttle flies. And this object is lower down than the shuttle Columbia...so, I'm inclined to say no to dangerous space debris here.

My Thanks to Marty Stubbs for taking the time to tape these video and put them on his youtube channel.

His efforts are to be commended.

Then are you calling it an identified flying object? If so, what is its identification?

Excuse me, I should have said it appears to be terrestrial, at least in my opinion. I cannot identify it. Hell it could be a secret military aircraft for all I know, but the satelite theory seems apt also.

STS-75 was orbiting at an altitude of 160 miles. There are satellites in lower orbits.

Equatorial and polar satellites mostly fly at low altitudes between 100 and 1,000 miles. To an observer on the ground, they seem to climb up from the horizon, pass overhead, and fall below the horizon several times a day.

Greetings Good Sir!

I am glad you are with us.

For my fellow members - Here are a few images of other UFOs that were spotted during the sts-75 mission - wherein the infamous tether incident occurred. They should be useful for performing comparative analysis; (I will try to get a close-up of one of the newer objects for closer scrutiny):

They aren't satellites... Nice try

*A different Camera than the first image

*Satellites?

*And since we are on the subject of UFOs from the STS-75 mission - here is a video to aid in our comparative analysis of the phenomena from both events:

Keep up the good work Mr. Stubbs!

-Now that the debunkers have tried calling the objects satellites (and failed), they will probably begin to revert to the (also failed) "out-of focus particle" tactic they have tried in the past on other STS-75 videos. We shall see.

maybe they'll say ice particles.

NASA officials claim that the objects in the tether video footage are ice particles close to the camera passing in front of the distant "overexposed" tether

They probably will.

Of course, ice particles do not pulsate, or have a hole in the center, nor do they morph the slit from one side to another as they move along, much less even have a slit on the outer edge....

.... they'll probably even try to say the slit is the result of a camera issue - even though it is in varying positions on multiple objects

In any case - we still have yet to get a good freeze-frame or zoom-in on the newer objects. I shall endeavor to provide one.

Edit: Here is a nice shot from the mission (Top left

No.
Those are not satellites. The video in the OP is very different from the tether video.
