Wait wait wait wait..... you're going to sit there and compare someone like David Icke to the likes of Copernicus and Eratosthenes? Wow....

You claim I'm the one making the logical fallacy, when I explained how frauds DO happen in legitimate science, and how they're dealt with... then follow up with this line:

Why do people refuse Ufology so much?Because it is a total and existential shock to EVERYTHING THEY KNOW.

... and you don't see a problem with that?

Secondly, you don't see how that claim is contradicted by advances in the fields of Quantum Mechanics, Bionics, Genomics, Neurology, Nanotechnology, and AI research? Good god, do you ANY idea how much impact those combined fields will make on humanity? Just Genomics and Bionics ALONE are going to completely re-write the book on the very definition of what it means to be human, and yet... you think people can't handle the idea of UFOs? Despite poll after poll after poll where people continually show a support and acceptance for the idea that we are not alone?

Just a few images from the Hubble Deep Field had done more to legitimize the concept of intelligent life existing elsewhere in the universe than the ENTIRE HISTORY of UFOology. Doesn't that mean anything to you?

If there was a court hearing to make this legitimate you would have to provide expert witnesses and also evidence. You would be considered the defendents and of course would provide supposed legitimate witness but also the proscution would bring in the nutcases that you would leave out so as not to make your case less legitimate. Trust me you would not win since this field appears to be filled with so much wackos.

Thanks for your very well thought out and designed response!I am glad you decided to share your insights in this thread,it is always great to have a FSME and Conspiracy Master drop by!I agree with you totally, and maybe the US should do what Italy does..But we all know that won't happen since the US is likely behind all these encounters in some way or another!

Again,thanks for your input friend.

I think ETs would make great pets, when they come ima make sure to get me one. In Holly Wood it'll be the new craze, every blond bombshell will have one on a leash. Heck might even get me 2, need one to cut the grass!

You are still running in a circular argument here.........You keep trying to compare accepted sciences to Ufology.
(The ensuing bold/underline/italic is so you can see it)
Do you or don't you think that people who purposefully hoax UFOs/aliens should be punished???????????

Some do.

The Morris County prosecutor says two men who staged a UFO hoax using road flares and helium balloons will be charged with disorderly conduct.

Prosecutor Robert Bianchi says the objects could have interfered with air traffic and posed a potential fire hazard.

Twenty-nine-year-old Chris Russo of Morris Plains and 28-year-old Joe Rudy of Chester Township came forward Thursday and admitted they perpetrated the hoax, launching several balloons on each of five nights in January and February.

That's the joy of youtube. Anybody can post anything, and nobody knows who made it. If anything, the people who steal other people's creative work for the purpose of hoaxing should be punished. No jail terms though, I'm thinking out behind the woodshed beaten with a hose. You know, the good ol' fashioned way.

I agree. Maybe nobody else will stand with your opinion, but I will. I think that people that intentionally create a video fraud depicting either aliens or spacecraft should be tried, judged and jailed. Now, those that create such projects and declare them as creations........ well, no problem.

I think that creating fake EBE videos is a giant lie, with intent to defraud and/or deceive and it should be an actionable offense.

Then we should also punish people who claim to have an image of christ in a granite rock they dug up on their land and who charge people to look at it.

We should also punish people who make videos where their mobile phones cause pop-corn to pop, because they spread fear.

And while we're at it, anyone who makes a ghost video, like those ghost hunters, should also be punished for defrauding the public.

I'll also have no problem punishing the likes of benny hinn and his christ-hands of healing, peter popoff and his manna from heaven, jimmy swagart, creflo dollar, etc etc, for making people believe that giving them money will save their souls.

Eventually, with this logic, when someone comes up with real video evidence from a real life event, we'll just intimidate them to keep them quiet and lock up the dissenters, and we'll be just like.... ummmm... woops!

I appreciate your comment.I picked this video because it is something that so many people would believe off hand, and plus it is an easy representation of a fake video. The user on youtube announced it as real.

I don't see where they claim it is real, unless they have changed the Details of it since disallowing comments. I see them ask what it is, including possibly an old lady or a person in a suit.

As for myself, I could tell it was cgi by the fact the rendered model is not completely smoothed out, there are still slightly visible vertices.

I agree in part that Hoaxters should be punished somehow but certainly not jail time.
We already have too many people in jail for idiotic reasons to begin with.
The Hoaxters that put stuff up on the internet with false facts, claiming to be of some official position and gets the public up in arms about the event... and THEN we find out it's a hoax... like the Bigfoot guys
Well I'm thinkin community service (a lot of it
) and a steep fine that goes toward research into the UFO subject. This way we get some cleaning done and some money goes toward some decent studies.
Just my two...

OOOOhh even better... they are forced to work on a big budget film with a ton of special effects but with NO PAY!!! Community service hours filled option

Don't forget that for every clever-glogs who thinks it's smart to try and fool everyone with their witty little CGI skills....there's a whole army of similarly talented geeks who take pleasure in ripping them apart, pixel by pixel.

Not every digital artist wants to make hoaxes, and those that don't are just as smart if not smarter because there's a bigger collaboration of them.

None of these hoax clips will ever PROVE anything....for that we need something a little more solid, irrefutable and obvious, to shake hands with or take a ride in.

they were NOT prosecuted for " creating a hoax " - they were prosecuted for dangers to air traffic , fire hazards etc

Why?Cause I have been to jail,in fact for 190 days,so I do know what the consequences of actions are,so please don't tell me I am being to harsh.

Go on, I'll bite, what were you in jail for 190 days?

And then could you explain why you think a Hoaxer should get between double and 12 times your amount of jail time, plus a $10k fine?

Points to consider before legal action.

  • Has the hoaxer asked for money? No
  • Have they asked other people to partake in a crime? No
  • Is it illegal to make a video of an alien? No
  • Is the hoaxer aware before publishing of the video that it is liable to cause any adverse or negative effects? No
  • At any point during filming or pre/post production was there any form of risk or danger? No
  • Is the video entertaing? Yes
  • Has it really wound you up? Oh God Yes!
  • Am I bothered by it? No
  • Will making this a crime in the US make it enforceable overseas? No

Still want to make it illegal? Speak to Congress or a Senator.

I enjoyed the clip.

Viva La Hoaxer!

good points

add one more -

if there are in fact aliens to be discovered - if they really are all around us, and we're trying very, very hard to discover them - do you really think that the fake videos or photos are what's keeping us from finding them?

that's what's standing between us and the truth?

really?

What I was in jail for really isn't important, but if you must know..........It was for a Violation of Probation(there was a lot more to it but I don't feel like discussing it here),and no I wasn't in the pen, just county lock up.

I think maybe just a steep fine would do,but jail time would certainly be a greater deterrent. As far as setting precedents for this you can't,because the phenomina that is being disrupted is unprecedented.

"is this a grey alien in a military holding cell? has anyone ever seen a bodytype like this, is it a feak old lady, young person in a suit???"

and then disables text responses. Instant Fail.
