QUESTION for anyone to answer ...
I read elsewhere that Obama owns stock in (Ill. based) Baxter and that Baxter makes flu vaccines. I have googled it and searched and can't find info on it. Anyone know about this?
Is Baxter working on a vaccination for this swine/avian/human hybrid flu that is making the rounds????

Given the reports of outbreaks in NYC now and 5 states total im not surprised. However, I strongly believe that the US should restrict border crossings as the panic spreads in mexico and people start moving north.
Also HLS has released 12 million doses of Tamiflu from its stockpiles to the 5 states with cases. Hang onto your hats its going to be interesting
Politics above the Welfare of our Citizenry is absolutely pathetic, and downright treasonous.

and of course america is a much richer nation, i think simple antibiotics work on this according to reports plus because scientists have a vax which works on the whole strain many americans are already safe.
Its a virus so antibiotics would have no effect on it. Tamiflu et al. are anti virals. I wonder if interferon has been tried?

Yep. It puts me in mind of a publication, which used to be carried on the old PNAC website. The website is no longer usable, however, it talked about creating geno specific bioweapons.
Could you possibly elaborate on this?
Further, the process of transformation, even if it brings revolutionary change, is likely to be a long one, absent some
catastrophic and catalyzing event like a new Pearl Harbor.

From the article itself it would appear to only be fatal to mexicans and only gives a mild case of the flu to others.
20 people in the US with a mild case and dozens killing in Mexico and the authorities can't explain why.
This looks like a practice run on a small scale which will only effect a small number of the population but give a good indication of just how fast a new virus can spread even when trying to contain it.
I am either becoming more paranoid or more aware of what is happening around me.
One ominous sign, however, is that the Mexican cases are said to be mainly young adults, a hallmark of pandemic flu.
The H protein on its surface, having hitherto circulated only in pigs, is one most human immune systems have never seen, the crucial requirement for a pandemic flu.
