You're absolutely right, it might be completely natural - probably is.

But funny, it's coming from the closest and most ill-managed country in our region, one which is on the verge of anarchy and which, despite out-right demands by much of our citizenry, has a border that is utterly out of control.

For a moment there I thought you were talking about the USA.

Anyway to much doom and gloom on this site. The ability to locate and dispense information over all types of media has created a society that is both well informed but also ignorant of the truth.

This is no where near a pandemic and I doubt it becomes one.
It is late in the season.

I have to agree on both points. And yes, If I'm Canada that description certainly fits the USA!

the bird flu outbreaks in asia are ongoing, it's just not mentioned in the MSM...there was a brief swine flu outbreak around the same time as well...

so this is not surprising at all...anyone remember mad cow a while back in the states? they've had many more cases since then but you barely hear any mention or mass dissemination of the case.

i'd have to say that if the media ever all banded together and controlled the news, and i mean truly banded together, we would seriously be up X creek without a paddle. a comforting thought is that at least we do, on occasion get real nuggets instead of the canned X they push on the populace. (as in this case)

other stuff:
the average shelf life for a disaster or bad situation...is about a year here are some stats...

Bird flu (aprox 1 year)
www.google.com...

Swine flu (a few months, and recetly)
www.google.com...

Hurricane Katrina (few months)

www.google.com...

War in Iraq / Iraq War
Here we see a gradual decline over the years. This is due to the decresing coverage of and disintrist in, the war in iraq. the war is being shoved under the carpet. bushes vietnam is what they'll probably call it 20 years from now (if we're around...swine flu remember?)
www.google.com...
www.google.com...

Barak Obama (election+inauguration coverage)
www.google.com...

End of the World (slow decline since 2000 with a few recent blips)
www.google.com...

2012 (this blew my mind)
www.google.com...

Bush treason (for fun)
www.google.com...

Christian love (damn, lota single filipinos out there)
www.google.com...

Hitler (Norway seems to love this keyword)
www.google.com...

George W Bush (expect nothing)
www.google.com...

Weed (top:3 usa,canada,new zealand...NZ?)
www.google.com...

UFO (steady)
www.google.com...

Cheap Gas/Gas prices (when its in the news)
www.google.com...

alright enough of that already, we could be here for hours!

And just to clarify the history of my "theory"...

In ’05 Investing, Obama Took Same Path as Donors
www.nytimes.com...

Less than two months after ascending to the United States Senate, Barack Obama bought more than $50,000 worth of stock in two speculative companies whose major investors included some of his biggest political donors.

One of the companies was a biotech concern that was starting to develop a drug to treat avian flu. In March 2005, two weeks after buying about $5,000 of its shares, Mr. Obama took the lead in a legislative push for more federal spending to battle the disease.

The most recent financial disclosure form for Mr. Obama, an Illinois Democrat, also shows that he bought more than $50,000 in stock in a satellite communications business whose principal backers include four friends and donors who had raised more than $150,000 for his political committees.

I don't trust vaccines either, and I worked in the Military, in medicine.

I was on the CDC conference call today and they specifically said that they are developing a vaccine and it will probably be a live strain form of the vaccine.

Those are the most dangerous types of vaccines.

Folks, this strain even has the CDC & WHO worried. It have NEVER been seen before. No previous flu antibodies seem to protect against it. There is no PCR (polymerase chain reaction) test out to quickly identify it, the CDC is telling healthcare workers to send in samples if they suspect a flu, period.

We know genetic engineering takes place, and I personally know for a fact that there has been work done to create "super bugs" that target certain races. Were they successful, not when I was privy to the work, but that was over 10 yrs ago, things could have changed by now.

As Kosmic Jack said, perfect situation for those with an agenda. This bug may even quell the civil war situation in Mexico.

So far it appears that our level of hygiene and healthcare here in the US is a saving grace, so there are things to be thankful for. No fatalities here from it have been recorded, yet.

Stay healthy, wash your hands often, stay away from sick people, etc. all the normal flu season precautions.

but don't panic, there is no cause for it & even if there was, panic does no good.

Queens New York has 75 school kids being tested for this flu also. It is very disconcerting to think that it may already be spread coast to coast in the US before it even made it to the news at all. Canada is also comparing case samples to the new strain to see if it has made it there.

That is the most upsetting part of it all, that it could already be so widespread before any news alerts are put out.

be careful & stay healthy folks

i'm just going to try to stay alive,a pandemic which would wipe out the majority of the human race would be the closest thing to true freedom I have ever experienced.

Free to die and rot away like it was supposed to be.

Free.

No worries,already am...........

Don't freak,it's all BS.

This may make as much difference as 9/11 did.

9/11 was a non event,I mean, what difference did it really make aside from diverting your attention away from an already failing economy, start another war as a distraction, and another, and and and........

Don't freak, fear is the most dangerous thing to free people there is,fear enslaves you.

Just look at your life..................

Thanks Sunny,

I was looking for that link. I remember Ralph Nader calling for a global meeting discussing a virus that transports from birds to pigs to humans around 2004+. I wonder if this is it.

There were some school kids out a few days ago in Amityville because of a lung infection also.

This is the article

Yo Dah!!!

The end result of influenza is severe, sometimes fatal pneumonia.
Can you say SARS?.

No Hooey,really.

When people die from influenza, they die from complications of the disease, and it is usually PNEUMONIA!.

The 1918 Flu pandemic was so deadly because there were very few treatments for pneumonia at that time, there was a rapid onset of pneumonia after infection.

And I believe it was the SWINE FLU,wasn't it?.

Don't let the media whip you into a frenzy so.

You all have health insurance don't you?.

Well maybe not,........

Welcome to america.

Was it swine flu?
I thought it was avian flu in 1918? H5N1...

This has hit MSM, but I wonder why they aren't talking about the exact number of deaths in Mexico.

A skeptic family member of mine got sick yesterday, and the symptoms were flu-like.

I avoided her, just to be on the safe side. Yah, I know I'm paranoid.

On this note - I believe that the WHO is actually taking this very seriously.

Not because they say so, but because the pictures of the WHO rep talking to the media looks like the guy hasn't brushed his hair or slept for 24 hours.WHO SPOKEMAN

No kidding, he looks like a dying calf in a hailstorm.

I'm concerned; our weather today is strange and I was sitting in my car at lunch and had this foreboding feeling like bad news was coming.

The WHO guy looks like that because he's English and upper middle class. If you'd ever lived there, you'd know this to be true
It's a strange English idiosycracy that may have something to do with sending all these guys to archaic private boarding schools as kids. Really!!

Number 1!
on't freak.

Number 2:Take the same precautions you know to be right, like wash your hands...I avoid public restrooms anyway,as Agent Smith said.."It's the Smell"...

Number 3:Nobody lives forever,so if dying makes you angry, take as many pin-heads with you as you can before you kick the bucket, like run around kissing people on the face and make em think you like em....

Number 4:Are we having fun yet?....Well just please do!!..

Anyway....

Oh yeah, fear reduces your immune response, and viruses don't like alcoholic environments,SO........Get drunk and don't worry about it,and ride your bicycle really fast,to keep your lungs crankin...just don't hit nothin, that hurts........

Just keep your head up so you don't run into anything or fall in a hole...hey....

I have heard people talk about this in places other than here, like they saw it on TV,I believe that the collective consciousness has a lot to do with how things work on a larger scale.

If enough people get scared there will be issues.

Perfect distraction from the worries of losing your job....Hey!..

It is always something we believe we cannot defend ourselves against which makes us fearful.

In the end,the greatest societies are always ruled, and destroyed,by fear.

Just accept your own death, and you will be deprived of the freedom which it represents.

I wish someone would show me how to use my ipod,it didn't come with instructions....

Nevermind.

Laugh with your last breath, that's as close to heaven as you will get.
