This sort of flu HAS come about before. The bird-pig-human shift is not new.

Viruses do swap variations between themselves in their hosts. The pig is a known resevoir for such mixing that can more easily spread to humans, and be human-to-human transmitable.

Already speculated by conspiracy theorists is that this exact mutation would come about as a global threat.

This is why to some of us this is not at all suprising. It was expected, and now it is real.

I'm going to southern California in 3 weeks. I'd bet people are gonna look at me wierd for wearing my mask 24/7.
