Jesus spoke what had to be spoken at times.

interesting debate.

unfortunately unsubstantiated. transcripts of the gospels have been dated as far back as 50AD which was a mere 20 years after the death of christ. this kind of origin gap is unprecedented in archeology. even the earliest copies of plato were written 500+ years after plato lived and died. so even from a scientific point of view, the chances of jesus' story being changed much is unlikely.

second, when those early transcripts are compared to todays bible, they are largely unchanged. noone can bring forth any sort of case that jesus' teaching were altered.

so mostly, due to a lack of evidence, arguments in this thread will amount to "i dont agree with this particular teaching so i think it was altered"

You are right Miriam to my experience, therefore it cannot be only certain passages that must be understood to the tense and purpose for which it is written, but all of the word must be painstakingly gone through word by word. This fulfills the prophecy spoken of by the prophet Isaiah...

"Isa 28:10 For precept [must be] upon precept, precept upon precept; line upon line, line upon line; here a little, [and] there a little:"

and again,

"Isa 28:13 But the word of the LORD was unto them precept upon precept, precept upon precept; line upon line, line upon line; here a little, [and] there a little; that they might go, and fall backward, and be broken, and snared, and taken."

Fulfilled and present "to this day":

"Luke 23:38 And a superscription also was written over him in letters of Greek, and Latin, and Hebrew, THIS IS THE KING OF THE JEWS."

Peace

Even so, Jesus speaks. Look out, he's all around.

I've always wondered about the difference between the god of the old testament and the god of the new testament also.

It's like there are two different religions in the bible. The old testament being an old religion and the new testament with Jesus being an entirely different religion.

Gone are animal sacrifices in the new testament. The god of love comes in the new testament.

Actually the sacrifices were not gone. This is why you have the passover, the last supper, Jesus overturning change tables, comments about purity (inside like the outside), and Repentance. The sacrifices went until the temple was destroyed in 70 AD.

Jesus says, "I did not come to break the law, but to fulfill it." To fulfill the law, is to die for sin. For law to be fulfilled, it must be broken or there is no prohibition to begin with to be pronounced.

If there is a Law, it will be fulfilled. Jesus being all men, will die in all men to fulfill the law so that only one is giving life, that is salvation in mans resurrection in the son of man...children. The ark of salvation is entered into Male and Female, one by one....the two becoming one flesh...the home prepared for you....OffSpring...."he shall come up before you as a root out of dry ground"...

Truth is before you. Life is a new generation and the spirit passed on. God gives you assurance of who he is. He is true. Nothing that isn't true has no part of God. He isn't out to trick you. He gives you assurance in truth. Let truth be your guide and it will guide you past the delusion.

He is with you from the start, not someone you need to accept, that is the sell out to the image. If you want his salvation, the image on the cross, you are forced to accept it wither young or old, rich or poor, not so with the real savior, he gave it free before you were born and you've always had it...salvation. The true savior goes unseen daily, even your own reflections.

Jesus never preached accept my death....ever. Here is the Gospel...the Good News:

Mat 10:5 These twelve Jesus sent forth, and commanded them, saying, Go not into the way of the Gentiles, and into [any] city of the Samaritans enter ye not:

Mat 10:6 But go rather to the lost sheep of the house of Israel.

Mat 10:7 And as ye go, preach, saying, The kingdom of heaven is at hand.

Mat 10:8 Heal the sick, cleanse the lepers, raise the dead, cast out devils: freely ye have received, freely give.

Mat 10:9 Provide neither gold, nor silver, nor brass in your purses,

Mat 10:10 Nor scrip for [your] journey, neither two coats, neither shoes, nor yet staves: for the workman is worthy of his meat.

Mat 10:11 And into whatsoever city or town ye shall enter, enquire who in it is worthy; and there abide till ye go thence.

You are the house entered into...Peace
