Intelligent user. Knows what he agrees to when he signs up at ATS and can discuss the topic of legalization or what not intelligently.

Well Boogley, the beauty of it is we live in a free country, having a website hosted is pretty darn cheap, and you can find free blog software online. So if you need to have a better forum to discuss drug related issues, then you should start your own site and discuss it until you are sick of the topic or you OD or whatever.

They have given the reason of it causing issues with filtering software, and obviously this site is for profit, and they dont want to risk profit by getting filtered, so they made a decision in their best interest to delete drug related material.

See its their site, not mine or yours. So if you dont like it, you should start your own site and do it however you want. Thats the beauty of America.

Now that I think is a conspiracy in itself.

On a side note, this thread is very personal to me and I am debating whether or not to respond. It really is tearing me up.

I wouldn't say it was solely for profit, if that was the case then I feel they would charge a membership. It cost money to maintain the sites. Of course they want to make some money but I don't believe that is their sole aim. JMO

I know better. I have read from the site admins themselves multiple times EXACTLY why they choose not to allow that content. And it has everything to do with not advocating the usage on this site because of its influence on the youth of AMERICA (not the world, as usage is not illegal throughout the world)...

As I said in the OP, newbs come in and shut these threads down and it WILL happen to this very thread.

Watch and see.

It is incredibly black and white. I will prove it. If you create a thread about drug use, they are going to shut it down regardless of what you want. That means they have the control. That is pretty darn black and white to me.

To the OP:

I personally feel that the SO and SA's are extremley determined to not let any form of drug topics take place on this site, so much so that they use 'sock' accounts (secondary accounts) to derail and promote the use of drugs them selves withing these topics to re-enforce their stance on the issue thus enabling them to turn around and say 'we told you so!'.

If you take a look at the last thread posted by Skeptic with regards to drugs topics he quite clearly stated 'the experiment failed' so it was an experiment to allow the topics weather it be in RATS or elsewhere, but at heart they have always been against such topics hence my claim in the first paragraph, and since this sites incarnation the SO has always tried to 'outlaw' such topics with unsound excuses such as 'family friendly content' (i know for a fact there are plenty of topics in the open forum which would be deemed unsuitable for 'familys' or children for that matter), or the statement that threads of such nature always endup with people advocating the use of such substances or methods to grow/produce/aquire, which in all the time i have been on this site and have viewed such topics found if quite a rarity for such posting activity to take place, aswell as the EXCUSE that the site will be inaccessable by people using such applications as netnanny and the likes which i find to be utter nonsense as stated above there are topics of a certain nature that would be deemed unsuitable for 'familys' or children, these would result in the blocking of the site irrespective of a topic related to drugs.

The topics which i have read or participated in with regards to illegal or 'mind altering' substances (as the T&C's put it) have been quite relevent to the sites SUPPOSED nature, deny ignorance, these topics detailed the economic benefits of for example the industrial use of hemp (which has no 'mind altering' effects when consumed - dont flame, do some research, the facts will blow you away just as much as ATS blows these topics away).

The only conspiracy surrounding these topics is the one that involves the ATS SO and the SA's hidden agenda resulting in the facts and potential benefits to the economy and society, being censored with the excuses listed above and more as reasoning.

If people can talk about it responsibly and within the confines of the T&C, they won't...

You guys miss the only point you need to focus on. It is their site, they own it, and they can run it anyway they choose. So even if they block drug related topics or sex related topics or car related topics, they can do whatever they want. Just like if you start your own site you can block or promote whatever you want.

So maybe if you took a break for a month and saved your weed money you could start your own site.

While I agree that there are a lot of topics that aren't to family friendly but apparently they are not getting picked up by the filters or else those type threads would be closed also.

Yes, you do make a very good point.
As I said before, I have actually been linked to photographs of people being mutilated on this site.
Not family friendly at all.

I'm not sure how far I'm willing to go in regards to the site owners themselves being behind some sort of conspiracy to further the agenda of the Government... In fact, I'd rather stay away from that, as I rather enjoy this site.

But, as I made mention in a thread I created and in SO's "ad hitlist" thread, I found it odd that I can't talk about drugs here but he can advertise hookers on stipper poles.
