The solar system is passing through the Galactic Plane and strange forces are having their effect on Planet Earth.

Criteria for contest submissions:

Submissions must;


• have (SXWC) in the title.
  
• contain at least 500 words.
  
• be written in the 3rd person (Observer only)
  
• describe what is happening planet wide
  
• begin an individual thread in Short Stories (open for ALL MEMBERS - writer status not required
  

Only ONE submission per contestant.

Prizes


• 1rst = 25,000 ATS points
  
• 2nd = 20,000 ATS points
  
• 3rd = 15,000 ATS points
  

All successful submissions will receive writer status.

Contest runs until 10 PM EST, Thursday, April 30. Winners announced by Sunday, May 10.

As a mod in this forum I won't be eligible to win, but I'm thinking of participating just the same.

Imagine your on the Space station and wake up bright and early on 12/21/2012, you realize you didn't get a wake up call from NASA so you look out the window and the planet Earth is simply gone.

I have several other ideas as well. I'm not going to use that one. It was just a passing thought.

Does the text have to be in a format for this forum?

Can the text be an external document in a format with pictures?

Will it allow deviation towards 2012 personal theories amassed from what we have all read about alignments/2012 theories?

Just wondering, Is there a readers choice prize?

Like the one with the most stars wins a prize.

It would be preferable that the text is written in the manner of a post without a link to an external source. If you are thinking of using .pdf, I would prefer you didn't as some members may not be able to read the document form. The story must also, of course, be entirely your own creation. Any pictures used should be loaded into ATS Media and imbedded into ATS from there.

You can deviate as much as you like towards your own personal theories as long as it is still focussed on the events of 2012. The more creative the ideas you present, the more interesting it might be to the volunteer judgng panel.

I have a question about this...

can it be more than 10000 characters? PLEASE?

I have a 9300+ character story, but with spaces it comes up over 11000+ characters. Yet the words are only 2061 at this moment. I am just about finished, BUT I need to know, if I can use a two page post?

I decided I would do something for the fun of it also.

The lower limit is 500 words... there is no upper limit at all.

Enter your story in one thread with two posts if your limit gets exceeded, QA.

If happy endings ever become a problem in writing fiction, I'm gonna have to say that the Nanny State has finally lost the war.
