Thanks for the very nice reply, I do have a few questions that i attempted to u2u but there is a required number of posts before I can do so, therefore i will just retype them here.

Firstly, I have decided to start taking a dream journal like in your other thread, i figured since i am going to ask you a few questions here to just include this one here as well. My question is, when starting a dream journal, is it a good decision to include dreams that you already remember from the past, or since you already remember them is there a point really?

Secondly, I have been attempting meditation and i believe its going well so far, I have also been able to 'live in the moment' for the last few days at least a couple of times a day. Is there anything i should look for to know I'm at least doing it right, or is it just something that you know.

Thirdly, I was just curious as to what books you have read and any good ones that you could give me, I really do enjoy reading and I figured if I am going to start trying this stuff maybe some books could help also shed some light on the subject for me.

Once again, thanks for all the help you have given me, whether it seems like it or not you have probably already changed my life for the better with just a few simple words, and that is more then i can say for a lot of people

As far as the dream journal, write down everything you can. The more you write down, the more you will remember. Even if its an old dream, just writing it down might trigger memories of the dream that you dont currently remember. I find that going back and reading my las month of dreams will trigger something I didn't remember from the night before. The dream world is all connected in some strange way.

Im glad to hear you meditation is going well. There actually is no "doing it right". You may have some sessions that are great and you clear your mind successfully and you are brought to an extremely peaceful place, and others where your mind wont shut up. The key is to accept what is as part of your journey. Don't let your judging mind or ego take over and tell you "your doing it wrong, that sucked your mind won this time" Accept every session for what is and be happy you were at least trying. Your mind is going to fight you but being successful is putting in the time when you can.

Also as you keep up with this there will be extremely rewarding moments that come out of no where to let you know what your doing is working. I don't want to describe the moments because they vary from person to person and I dont want to influence yours but it will happen to you and you will catch a glimpse of the veil being lifted. They will catch you off guard but it will show you first hand that what your doing is bringing about a fundamental change in the way you see the world.

Also repetition helps. If you can do it (sit down in a quiet place to meditate) once a day or even twice depending on how hectic your schedule is, it really helps your mind get used to being in the alpha state. I try from a half hour after I wake up and 1-2 hrs before I go to bed.

Now for the books. There is a lot of good info out there and I'm going to suggest letting a book choose you. A lot of the best stuff I have come across didnt come from other peoples suggestions but simply me browsing at my local book stores new age section and going with the book that felt right or stuck out to me. Theres no magic to it, just walk around and find a title or subject that intrests you, sit down read a chapter maybe and if it resonates or gives you an up lifted feeling while reading it, go for it.

That said I will give you a few suggestions that have helped me along the way.

Living in the Now and A New Earth by Eckhart Tolle do an amazing job of explaining how the moment is literally ALL we have so why shouldent we live i it?

Dan Millman is also a great author who uses his life stories to teach you some of the same concepts. I have read Peaceful Warrior and Sacred Journey of the Peaceful warrior. I really loved these books.

If you want some scientific backing to some of this stuff to really validate it for you. I had a skeptics mind going into all this, Lynne McTaggart's The Field and the Intention Experiment really blew my mind.

Thats really all I could think of for now. I am extremley glad I could help and If there are any more questions you cant answer inside of yourself please feel free to ask. Im sure there are people who have learned something just by the questions you have asked, so in turn you have helped many others! Every one is a teacher I have found.
Blessings!

Once again thanks for the reply. I will try to write down all of the dreams I can remember then and see what comes from that. I shouldn't have too many problems with finding books that I enjoy, as that is what i do normally

It feels good to know that a journey is just beginning for me and i am looking forward to all the experiences this will bring. If i can think of any more questions i will ask them here and once again thanks for all your help, i look forward to reading any more information from you in the future.

It is a very interesting journey. I have always been one to get excited about a new project or idea get a little bit into it and abandon it for something else. I have been told that is because I am an Aries.

There is something very different about mindfulness and being present. I know that it is something that will be with me forever. Once you have had a taste and have experienced the benefits and the magic that comes along with it, there is nothing in life that is more important than this concept.

At times it can be trying because when you enter a bad mood knowing what you know, it can be even more frustrating. Like becoming angry or upset and saying, I know being present now is the thing to do, but your ego resists even harder. The last week has been very trying for me with staying present, but it is the other side of the hard times that are the most inspiring. If you can stick with it through thick and thin, the most amazing rewards are waiting for you on the other side. I never realized how true the quote, "Its always darkest before the dawn", really is.

Excellent thread. Like many others who came in stating they have been working on "living consciously" so have I. Further indications that something's "afoot".

Thank you for all the information. I shall return another day, and reread it. But the "living consciously" has not been difficult for me. It has come quickly, almost easily, once I had the mindset to incorporate it into my.........well......consciousness.

Sometimes I permit myself to *drift off*, that is, to rest. But it seems to be okay.

And I can tell you this. I am happier with myself, and I am happier with those around me. People are not annoying me, and I am not as critical with myself or others as I used to be.

My thoughts are (and I would like your thoughts on this as well) that if something negative is happening...to me..such as anger, or being annoyed, I now instantly identify/recognize it, and put it aside quickly, so I can respond "consciously".

Is this in keeping with what you are saying here?

perhaps if I see him meditating on a stump by the water, I'll disturb him as a test to see just how equanimous he really is!

Your thread is very helpful. Thank you.

Btw, I've been working in the background with another ATS member on a new meditation track employing binaural beat brainwave entrainment with wonderful classical music and ocean wave sounds layered on top, and it's incredible and will be available for download and sharing very soon, so those who don't have the time and the patience or the knack for meditation, will be able to achieve the deeper theta and delta states without any effort on their part, since the brainwave entrainment technology does it for you. I know this will prove helpful to many and I'm excited about it's upcoming release.

Bringthelight, I owe you a BIG thank you for introducing me to Tolle. In one of your past threads, you and others discussed his powerful book and my life changed.

Again, thank you!

Enjoy!

It sounds like consciousness has flooded your system and made things really simple and clear cut for you. Congradulations!

The fact is, being conscious shouldn't be viewed as difficult, because when you have achieved it even for a few seconds, you find it is A LOT easier than life lived unconsciously. Life literally becomes easier in every way because you are no longer struggling against what is.

You also have picked up on the benefits of not criticizing or judging people and that can really start to awaken the beauty in people all around you. Usually when you judge you tend to get what you expect out of a situation. Again, well done recognizing this.

As far as putting your negative emotions aside and seeing them for what they are, yes you have gone beyond grasping all that has been said here. We usually react unconsciously when our emotions take us over. Reacting means our emotions are responding for us, rather that us consciously responding to the situation. I'd say 100% of situations that turn out bad for people is because they reacted instead of responding.

Well said and be sure to share any more of your insight as you seem to have a clear cut understanding of these teachings.

Something tells me he might surprise you!

I would love to hear the track when you are done. I have worked with hemi-synch/bi-neural tracks before and they have had some truly amazing effects. One of which being OBE's and another being moments of separated consciousness throughout my day. By separated consciousness I mean I am watching my body complete a few tasks at a time effortlessly as if I am not in control. It is a very weird feeling and only lasts for 30 seconds or so but amazing none the less.

Let me know when you are finished, I have a couple of friends that have asked me about some meditation tracks and I would love to burn them a copy!

Well done nice job a very responsibly put across. You should get this info published in a kind of easy to swallow guide.

I've always understood the importance of now but I don't really think I've been taking it in entirely. Maybe that's what the end game is about. The masses taking control of and steering the now.

Just a word of warning to those going through this process. It gets very odd at times when the quiet sets in as you still the mind, but in so allowing this to happen information will come to you and realisations will start to set in about the nature of your reality.

Thank you for your reply. I have actually thought of compiling all of this info into some sort of book or pdf. When I have some time I will be sure to to it if more ATS'ers are interested.

And What you said is very true. Once you can block out all the mental chatter, you will be amazed at what comes through and how clear it is. Sometimes Im like, "wait a second was that someone else talking?" But then I realize that everything is connected and my higher self has the ability to tap into the collective consciousness and pull out very interesting bits of information. You will know its your higher self by how clear the messages are and how much they resonate with you.

BTL: I think there is no question that you have a book here.
You are an amazing person, so intelligent, so thoughtful, kind and remarkably astute. You seem to be truly gifted.

I am very goal-oriented, and I almost used the below as a signature, so I will leave it for you, should you decide to pursue this idea as a goal.

"Many people fail in life, nor for lack of ability or brains, or even courage, but because they never organized their energies around a goal".

Not that you are failing in life. You clearly are not. I just really like this quote because it is so true. Staying focused.

This is exactly what it is all about! We are all beginning to get it. We are taking control of our now, and our now is steering us towards our new earth. We've had the power all along and now we are using it!

Our thoughts are most powerful at this time. Each and every thought of joy and beauty gets us a bit further. We should all try to meditate, focus and imagine the world we wish to appear before us. For in doing so, we will be able to WILL it into being! And what a wonderous world it will be ...

ladyinwaiting...

Thank you for your extremely kind words. You have given me the spark to start arranging this information that I have collected along the way into something useful for others. I have always felt like there is no higher purpose than helping others with what I have learned along the way. I see so much stress, emotional attachment and suffering that can be alleviated by this simple message.

Again thank you, you have really inspired me. You are a kind soul.

Hello, My name is Jeff. Im fairly new to ATS but my time here has been extremely fruitful. I am a trafficer of information of sorts, just like the Merovingian from The Matrix and also regarded myself as an intellectual. As i was making my daily rounds on the site I stumbled across one of your posts and eventually your threads. For the longest time I felt alone in my awareness. I wondered why I could see so clearly and why everyone around me seemed to not understand. Eventually, I conformed to the world and was lost in my mind. I created much suffering for myself and others which is to stay I was a habitual sinner. At a point during my 26th year I found myself to be deeply unhappy, abused, resentful, filled with anger, and uncompassionate. During one of my nightly sessions sitting in front of the computer wondering what The Matrix was.....lol. I had my first glimpse of present moment awareness. Of course I didn't know this at the time but I felt As though I woke up quite literally. I remember thinking that I wasn't supposed to have this knowledge and fear quickly crept back in. This was the first time I had touched the spiritual dimension since I was a child. It motivated me to go deeper, to research, to look within and most importantly to REMEMBER! One of the first things to truly bless me with the understanding that I had been searching for ever since my fall from oneness with all was the words of Eckhart Tolle. Since, I have read many spiritual texts and have come to a much deeper understanding of all that is. Your threads reminded me of my initial journey as I stepped back on the path. I wanted to introduce myself to you and offer any assistance that I can to help you along your journey. If you have any questions feel free to ask. The collective is where true transformational power resides. This is the true reason for a church, or a sangha and any other spiritual institution which we gather to worship. It's what Jesus meant by saying " Whenever 2 or 3 are gathered in my name, there I am." Your duty is to pass this knowledge not by words alone but by the way you live your life. As you do it will become easier for others to awaken as the collective is strengthened. I could go on and on....lol. Until next time, a flower for you. :-)

I couldn't agree more with your works Jeff. You sound like you have traveled a very similar path. I read your other post in the 2012 thread and again...everything resonated.

More and more of late I have learned that this knowledge must me demonstrated and not forced upon people. I am still learning and always will be, but there is knowing and then there is demonstrating the knowledge. I tried telling people in the past about this, but there is so much more conveyed in the look upon my face than any words could ever do.

I have found more and more that keeping this presence throughout my day leads me to some strange and uplifting situations with people close to me and complete strangers. It completely blows my mind sometimes. I would love to hear more about your journey and what you have been discovering recently. I love learning and experiencing something new every day. Please feel free to u2u me and we can have a discussion or share it on this board.

Thanks again
Ryan

Every positive change--every jump to a higher level of energy and awareness--involves a rite of passage. Each time to ascend to a higher rung on the ladder of personal evolution, we must go through a period of discomfort, of initiation. I have never found an exception.

What a beautiful thread! Too often people are so busy thinking about the past and future that they miss the here and now. There is much beauty and peace in meditation, nature, in leaving behind the cares of the world, if for even a few moments, we are revived. The more we pay attention to the now and truly live our lives, the more grounded and peaceful we will be.
