Animal cruelty plus the other 3 or 4 charges.

They aren't getting 25 just for the one crime.

The only thing obscene in this case is the sentence.

Do you really think they would get 25 years for setting fire to a human being ? Maybe if it was a pregnant disabled woman. But not if it was a man.

The American legal system has been hijacked by these ridiculous laws that have skewed the priorities.

Killing people, or robbing banks etc gets less time than torturing a cat.

What good does 25 years in the prison actually do to these kids ? NOTHING.

They will probably come out as full fledged psychopaths who will do a Hannible Lecter on a bunch of young women and die violently in a prolonged gun battle with cops.

Okay, so some kid will be in prison for a long time for firing up cat(s). Shouldn't cops be in jail for using their TAZZZERS to fry up and kill people, too? Animals, like this crazy teen and criminal cops, should go to jail, period.

So your saying thats impossible?

Im saying its as unlikely as someone squashing a spider with a shoe then in the future taking a hammer to someones skull.

You've just weakened your argument by changing the goal posts. A spider? Is not a cat. A pet. A loved part of a family.

A spider is a pest, to most people. Those that have them as pets, are very few and don't spend their time enjoying the spider sitting on their lap.

I do think 25 years is too much. I think it's far easier and better for society to euthanize the scum rather than spend a single cent on them.

That's just dumb. Are sure spiders don't feel pain at all?

So, spider killers get a free pass because those insects aren't as cute as cats?

*sigh* Here we go - thread derailment in 3.... 2..... 1......

Why?

I'd gladly eat the beasts if it came to it. People > pets/animals. Remember it.

Well, strangely not everyone is you. Personally, I don't trust a single other human being, not even members of my family. Not with things I consider important to me at least.

Like I said, people eat cats and dogs in other countries, have a problem with it? If they had set fire to the cat and ate it after, would that have been better?

No. In order for it to "have been better?
" they would have had to kill the animal humanely, ensure it was NOT the property of someone else, and be unable to find food elsewhere that was already prepared for consumption.

Nice try and derailing the topic tho.

Put that passion into something useful, its wasted on animals.

I believe it is more wasted on some humans. But then, I promise I wont set you on fire before I cut you into steaks. How does boiling alive sound? I hear in korea it makes the meat tastier...

Imagine how nice the world would be if PETA spent money helping humans.

What has peta got to do with the criminal activities of 2 neanderthal scumbags torturing someones loved pet to death for giggles and farts?

When do people become adults? What, at age 18, makes someone any different from someone age 17? What, at age 20, makes someone any different from someone age 18?

Nothing!

Someone as old as 15 can be very aware of the horrible things they do. They can be complete psychopaths by that age.

I too have a beautiful tabby cat who certainly has a distinct personallity and the thought of what these murderers did to that poor cat really saddens me,they certainly deserve to be removed from society.

There's so much ignorance in this is thread, when will the majority of you read instead of ranting?

The 25 years is the combined maximum punishment for the following:

  • Second-degree arson
  • Second-degree burglary
  • Aggravated animal cruelty

The above is on the back of recent charges of:

  • Burglary
  • Assault

Brought about when they broke into another apartment and beat the previously sleeping tenant with a cane while demanding money.

Now armed with all of the above facts would you say these people are one-time offenders or violent, criminal psychopaths who need to be kept away from society? Being young means that it is only a matter of time before they kill somebody (they have already tortured a human, remember) - will their next victim be set on fire if allowed to go free?

My bet is they'll get seven to eight years and be out in two, it's not long enough.

Every person on this planet eats a killed living being.

Yeah, but not every living being is tortured and set on fire is it?

Im not a cat person at all (I like dogs), but there is no way in hell anyone should think its ok to do this to a defensless animal

Thank you. The apartment was also damaged in the fire.... a fire that probably could have spread as well.

I may not be a cat lover, but what they did was wrong and hope they get the maximum amount of time for their crime.

If its a Exotic spider "Pet", Then it could be 25 years. Somebody killing a Pet Dog should get "double life" sentences. (ie Michael Vic.)

Now let see, joking that I accidentally opened up the neighbors privacy fence and looked the other way when my neighbors dog eats "My wife's" cat. Should land me about 10-15 years for conspiracy in assisted murder for a (Deleted text).

Should they go to prison? IMHO YES! - but for 25 years?? - would that make them less insane?

Well!... these guys are clearly insane psychopaths - and should be treated as such for doing what they did to that poor animal!

So wouldn't it be better to send them to some kind of mental institution for treatment a couple of years?

But OTOH! If I was ruling the Universe & Karma - I would set them on fire! in the name of ALL CATS on earth

A Better punishment would be to give them 5 years of Community service. And make them clean Tiger cages. And if the tiger "insert Brutality". Oh Well!

Little factoid, The only animal "pet" allowed in prison is Cats. And these cats are assigned department of correction numbers just like the inmate's. And the inmate's bunkie can be a "Cat", and the inmate's works a 25$\hour job in order to buy cat supplies off of the "commissary"

Making the "future" inmate's care for a "Cat" bunkee for 5 years would be a better punishment. And if they screw that up. The inmate's will solve the problem without outside law enforcement assistance.

I agree it's shocking what they did. A cat to me is like a human being, they are full of emotion and needs just like a human, yet their innocence amazes me.

But will prison really help them?

Who said prison is about HELPING? Prison has nothing to do with helping a sick disgusting and twisted subhuman like them. It is about JUSTICE and PUNISHMENT. I hope they go in for the full 25.

I have some major reservations for the people seeing fit to argue on behalf of these sick, thrill killing individuals. Every life is important. If a cat could talk to you in human language, it would tell you that it's life is as dear to it as ours is to us. The thing is that it can't speak human which appears to make it easy for some to devalue the cats rights as a living being.

If those boys did that horrendous act to my cat, they would live the rest of their lives sucking meals through a straw... at the very best. These people deserve the same empathy they gave that poor innocent animal. No rights & no mercy.

I wish them the worst in their lives.

This is the usa, no comment.

In China, they hit 1000's of cats on the head with a hammer, rip off their skin, and throw them in vats of boiling water, Alive. Then they prepare and serve them to their hungry customers.

Let's go over and Get these Chinese killers, hear?

Ever see any utube vids on animal food processing? Many of these powerful processing plant owners should get 1000 yrs. for their 'sanctioned' brutality.

I say, the system should cough up some money and attempt to rehabilate these misdirected youths.

I dont think prison is about helping anyone, its about removing someone from society that has proven they cannot be trusted to operate within the rules of that society.
