Doppleganger? GHOST? How about that infernal contraption that the 'enhancer' Seeker ( neno refers to him as the 'Tin Man' in his own mind
) uses to project holograms of himself? Assuming the killer wanted to cover his tracks for some reason, and since we didn't find him at the kill site, he (or she) probably does, and assuming the killer has been on board since we left Earth, there would have been plenty of time to secrete a holographic projector doodad on the bridge, maybe radio activated?

Side note: Col Studious told his Marines to SPIT SHINE the Penelope in the middle of this crisis! I love it! Now, THAT'S a true Marine officer for ya!

I'll keep talking about it, maybe even I'll post a few threads on the "Galactic Interweb" about my theory

(Read Masqua's post of story thread under communications if you have not gotten that joke.)

Before I read your post my character caved, realizing the relationship between the two Federation Captain's is worth a headlong charge. It gives me a perfect way to rush off to battle and drop my theory and it develops the character a bit.

I hope we will bring this up later though.
I like this storyline. It all fits too well.

1. A missing doctor right when we need him.

2. The Nimitz that should have been able to take on the Triangles so it would be difficult for them to have been brainwashed the old fashioned way
.

3. Disappearing and then reappearing dead crewman.

Sorry if I seem like I am pushing this idea too much. I just like it, and I think it has a lot of potential.

No! I agree with you - you're making me more creative than I originally was and it adds drama to the story, a semi-dispute in the middle of the battle - I'm loving every minute of this.

I can't wait to see what's going to happen next.

I wish we never had to sleep, so we could just keep going.....

lol

Oh by forgetful Centaurian Drones I meant that the crew was going to turn into the brainwashed type characters aboard the Nimitz.

Forgetful because none of us remember what happened to Fooks.

Centaurian because they are fighting for Alpha Centauri

Drones because brainwashed (or assimilated) people usually get that title.

I know what you meant - lol - I'm just writing luder as if he thinks about a lot of stuff in his head w/o voicing the majority of it. It wasn't a hit against you.

I know what you meant.

lol

Luder may not have.

Just when I thought the Penelope's day couldn't get worse... Seeker has gone rogue. Maybe it IS something in the water... I'm fixing to go shoulder blades to shoulder blades with the best shot I've got on my staff, so we can cover each other's six. This is getting better than a barroom brawl!

And to think neno was having trouble just finding one doctor...

Wow, this just keeps getting better and better..

Ok, so to recap... we were at war but now weve killed everyone (including us, sort of), theres been a murder (and we have a murderer), the body has been moved, our doctor is missing (is the doctor the murderer), theres a chemical agent on board? (is that right) and now seeker has gone off the rails ... lol.... boy, did I pick the wrong ship... lol.

This is great and congrats to everyone involved with this, the writing is excellent.

Would this be a good time to have a "situation" in the engine room (thinking something to do with the wormhole chamber) or do we have our hands full at the moment... lol.

Great work guys,

JQ.

My posting may be at different times to others, im in the UK.

LOL,

That would just be the icing on the cake, could be something from the blast caused by Seeker's hell weapons.

lol

It is a good job from everyone - Seeker - I did NOT see this coming.

Just finished reading the engagement with Nimitz.

Absolutey fabulous writing!!! A classic Science Fiction thriller peppered with spectacular details.

I'm blown away and could not have expected more from the crew of the Penelope.

Antar... hope you get better soon.

Attention: Crew of Yydryl

Captain Cadbury is being held for ransom by Betelgeusian insurgents. Whereabouts unknown.

I confused. I haven't really been checking in on this thread very much, but now I realize plot direction is occurring here as well?

I thought nature was posting in the main thread.

EDIT: Incidentally, if the Captain is indisposed, who becomes 2nd in command until his rescue?

No - I think that was a one time thing - we're kind of using this thread as a "behind the scenes discussion thread" for the main story.

He'll probably move it to the main thread or one of you guys on the alien ship is going to need to take that info and work it into your storyline.

Plot direction is happening, yes.

I thought nature was posting in the main thread.

NATURE, 'being' omnipresent, works his/her magic in both threads.

EDIT: Incidentally, if the Captain is indisposed, who becomes 2nd in command until his rescue?

Who indeed? You and your crew members will have to figure that out in the main thread. Once someone is elected to take command, you can take your formidable vessel to Betelgeuse to find him. Chances are, though (hint), it won't be easy as the ransom note received will soon show. NATURE will reveal all in the main thread.

It's almost time to 'get funky', Rigellians.

Looks like I have some reading to catch up on then. I only really just skimmed this thread.

Thanks for clearing that up.

I hope you don't mind The Colonel's anger, but being trapped in a sardine can dying can do that to you.

LOL

I'm loving every second of this whole thing.

The wait between posts is EXCRUCIATING......

I was afraid you were going to pull the trigger up there. I was like - "Man. I'm going to get killed out of the story just like that...."

lol

This is great stuff, man - great stuff.
