Understood. What was the rationale behind your choice of colours?

NATURE has no rational idea for the colour choice, it was pure Serendipidy.

Again...being so many collaborators its already a day-filling task to read what everyone wrote. Could you just stick to the one-post format and not try to write the whole novel in one piece?

Of course you are the captain and if you decide to do so despite my objections you can and will do so and I will have to accept that.

The story starts out with a shock...loving it, also the subsequent reactions

Hi, Okay I am onboard... Reporting for duty.

Just to let you know, Antar is the person who is responsible for my doing this. After a few u2us - asking / convincing me to join this project -

It sounds like fun, and thank you to masqua for accepting me in the opera.

Happy to be here.

I will get up to speed with the thread.

I only intended to write up to a single page for each post (no more than anyone else has)... I'm not in my manic phase of the cycle right now and couldn't write any more than that even if I wanted too.

In regards to the .pdf... Is one click really so much extra work for everyone else? It only takes a second to bring it up, if that.

If you really think PDF is necessary, its your choice. You're the captain.

I only intend to use it when I'm writing a page's worth that requires a lot of dialogue. Everything else will be on thread. I asked Masqua's permission about a week ago (or thereabouts) and he was all right with it. But if my fellow collaborators on both sides have issue with it, I won't use Portable Document Format. It's no trouble either way.

What say you all?

You're not kidding.

I was like - what the hell?

lol

That didn't make a lick of sense, but I laughed after the intial shock.

Great way to kick off with a bang.

Attention Penelope crew members.

I'm going to write up a "manual" detailing operational conditions on board the ship.

It is essentially more or less a "Player's Handbook to the Penelope" so that if we need certain information or something, it's all in place for you to look over at a glance.

And as always,

I'm open for suggestions.

Plus - it's a good continuity device for anyone who comes in after we all are either dead or booted off the ship (hopefully years) down the road.... lol.

The mysterious figure is supposed to be Nenothtu as he has stated in his posts about not liking the "spit shine" of the ship. I have left Neno's response to the action open so as to avoid writing another person's role.

So don't worry the story is not progressing too rapidly, rather I want to set up a conflict of words between the Marines and the Security Staff very early on. With some suspense added.

I am purposely trying to make this character mysterious. So the only real information you hear about him is from Admiral James Gordon.

The part that is in quotes is supposed to show that Studious has no knowledge of that letter. It also nicely separates it from the rest of the post.

Nenothtu alluded to in his first post in the story thread, of sort of a conflict between the Marines and the Security staff. I believe a such a conflict would be interesting and useful for the story. It seems in all television shows that involve the military that there is always a conflict among members of the staff.

This character would contrast well with Nenothtu because as he has stated he “wasn't one for spit and polish, and the shine present on EVERTHING tended to make him a bit uneasy.”

My character despite his rigidness has a sense of personal honor that prevents him from doing anything he feels is wrong while Neno says “he HAD at least learned that orders was orders, and you do as the boss says.” This could lead to those classic struggles in most military shows with officers arguing. Sort of defined by this trope. (Except without anyone in particular being right all the time.)

TV Trope

I'd like to hear what Neno has to say about this idea.

If he does not like it, I can always remove that portion of the post.

Glad you asked the date I was hoping it would not be in too distant future as my abilities to comprehend would have been seriously limited had it been much further after all we are writers not futureistic scientists, and by the way have you seen the spacecast2020 document in our FOIA archives? There is some good solid information in their for your earth team... Just saying, wouldnt want anything to happen to you, yet.

I've written something but am having trouble logging in to the new ATS media portal to upload it. Would someone be kind enough to upload it to theirs for me and then u2u me the link, please?

www.megaupload.com...

It's a very small .pdf file and 100% clean. I need to get this uploaded quick.
