Viktor Bout (The Merchant of Death - Lord of War) might be a good candidate here, since it's for "the last 30 years". Otherwise, Stalin would've been my bet.

OMG, Hellmutt!!!

THIS is a guy that could actually be captured and made to pay!!

EXCEPT.....perhaps we need to examine, AGAIN, the word '
caused'.

Not 'responsible'....'caused'.

Maybe I'm incorrect, but to me, 'responsible' implies intent.

'caused' implies....not intent, but action after-the-fact??? By others?

Example: yelling "FIRE" in a crowded theater, when there is, in fact, no fire. That is clearly 'intent' to incite, and cause mayhem. It is clearly an act of malice.

Second Example: yelling "FIRE" in a crowded theater, when there is, in fact, a fire. THAT is clearly responsible. AND, awardable.

Many a generous good deed could have gone wrong....it is up to the recipients to carry the deeds.....

Pol Pot and the Khumer Rouge. estimates as high as 6 million over 10 years. Pretty serious torture and stuff. They marched into Cambodias capital Phnom Pehn (2million people) and removed every one in a matter of hours.

When I read the theme the first person I thought was Stalin. Counting only one single episode of Holodomor in Ukraine he killed more people than all concentration camps during WW2. The whole amount of victims of that man counts even 30mln people mainly in CCCP and other socialist countries. We can’t even evaluate how many people died during war because wrong decisions.

en.wikipedia.org...

In modern history we have no other man which we can compare with Stalin however Pol Pot was trying to quite big bastard. He ruled Cambodian nation which killed about 2milion own people in 7milion people country. It’s about 30% of population. I thing that proposed persons can’t be compared to him.

en.wikipedia.org...

Maybe in North Korea our beloved Kim killed more but until that regime collapse we wouldn’t know the truth.

Without doubt, John Moses Browning, nobody else comes close. You can pretty much add all the people killed by the others mentioned in this thread together and still be a long way off. If we are talking last 30 years only, then other dishonorable mentions go to Dick Cheney, Idi Amin, George W and his dad, Mugabe, Kissinger, and Kambada. Dick and Mac Donald, Colonel Sanders and Sam Walton need a mention too. Heart disease after all kills millions world wide every year.

Not even close, it's Saddam. Not only was he the cause for the original Gulf War but the war with Iran. Don't forget he also like to cleanse certain portions of the population on occasion.

Go back even farther and I give the number one slot to Hitler, and number two to Stalin.

George Bush out-killed Saddam. I am not even sure Saddam even killed one person. I never got the truth about him. I never got the truth about the whole war on terrorism. I am fairly certain millions died because of the Bush doctrine.

This one's easy 1. God 2. Moses 3. Jesus Christ 4. Muhamhad 5. Buddha Religion and differences in philosophical beliefs is still the number one killer of human beings hands down. How many humans have been killed in the name of their God? How many people died in the name of the Jewish people founded by Moses and used to establish Israel by Joshua? How many people were killed during the Crusades and Spanish inquisition using the name of Jesus Christ? How many humans have died in the name of Allah and during the revolutions caused by Siddahartha? People do not kill people. the forced implementation of ideology and philosophy definately does.

Not directly, of course, but Jesus Christ. Think before you flame this post, because even devout Catholics can't deny the wars that have been fought in his name.

The answer is none of the above. It's the Roman Catholic Church!

You must be joking. Go back and watch how Saddam took control of the Baath party and Iraq. He had the opposition pulled out of the room and shot. They were begging for their life as they were being pulled out. It was all down hill from there.

I don't even know why I'm trying to convince someone like you who thinks Bush killed more than Saddam.

Pope John Paul II,
any other pope in last 30 yrs

Why, his policy on contraception thus leading to over population in countries, Thus being unable to feed themselves. Thus DEATH

Total = unknown but 10's of thousands die every day.

The pope was not in the list.

There is no excuse for anyone to go hungry on this planet. With our present agricultural technology, hybrid vegetables and crops, we could produce enough food to feed 40 billion people. As long as there are a few multi billionares hoarding the resources, and governements willing to spend trillions of dollars on bank bailouts, and a US gov. that spends more on military than the next top ten military powers combined, then people will starve to death like unattended caged animals. It ought to be a criminal offense when a human being starves to death.

Not to get off topic, but there are many candidates that could be blamed for starvation deaths, and the Pope is not one of them.

I'm guessing it's GWB.

You have nothing to convince me with. All I want is the truth. All you believe are the lies. We could link to articles that support both our points. The truth is not what you are hearing on the news, I know that for certain. It sure sounds like a great drama that happened in Iraq, but we both will never know the truth. I can't go back and watch because my time machine is out of order. Also i could not afford to fly there, and I bet they would not like an American watching them. I do know of a man who killed his opposition in Iraq, and you will agree it was George Bush. He went as far as to kill Saddam's sons also. It ruined my country's reputation and I am very angry about it.
Defend his actions and villify the enemy, that is what followers do. I am a free thinker. Join me.

Yes I know that this was posted in the War on Terrorism. I also can see that by limiting it to the last 30 years you may be leading us to a conclusion that you desire.

Not to be from me.In all honesty understanding the definition of cause to be what it is.

"Causality denotes a necessary relationship between one event (called cause) and another event (called effect) which is the direct consequence of the first."

en.wikipedia.org...

I nominate Bill Gates.

If it wasn't for the personal computer and all the software developments that came from it and all the "progress" society has made because of them in the last 30 years.

All technology invented has been used to better kill people.

I also believe this is why he is spending so much of his fortune in Africa.

Guilt.

Oh, cal....the last 30 years.....missed that on the Op's first page.

Since 1979.....well, that certainly narrows the choices.....

Quite possibly one of the Pope's of the Catholic church during the Dark Ages could be responsible for more deaths than any of those men. It is said that up to 200 million people were slaughtered back then.
