Prof... look back a few pages, someone asked "I wanna be able to talk about the CIA moving coc aine from south america up through arkansas..."

To which SkepticOverlord replied... "I wish I could too"

I'd have to take that as your answer.

Many people simple disagreed with that opinion, and many more would do so.

Like i said before, the many who are here(Daily), have suggested and discussed many ways we could do this.

We really have the people in mind, even if some do not think so.

Thanks for the suggestion though.

The ability to be vocal is not a good indicator of ability to serve and represent I am afraid. Nixon said much and had strong opinions. I don't think he would be picked nor voted for on this, do you?

Staff picking is the best way to go. Especially in the light of all the crap that has gone on today.

Please, SO, please just pick.

Guys, I know, the nominee voting going on now sounded great but then a ton of members came in here and complained about unfair voting. So they're never going to be happy with it, and the appointments really wouldn't be fair.

I think the best option is letting none of us vote. Because then people can't argue, really. I mean, they can argue with the staff, but they're going to do that anyway (already are).

LOL he is off line, i think we scared him away

I think it was more like a handful of members. One of whom I just asked his preference.

I think it would be easier and probably fairer all around if staff picks. But if a segment of the membership who strongly oppose the new rule would rather we use nominee votes so that admin doesn't handpick candidates, I'd be willing to listen to them.

Not that I think they'd pick candidates for their willingness to kiss butt anyway. But some members probably do, and I think it's worth hearing from them.

I'm so tired I don't even know what kind of tea I just finished. I think it's black tea, Lipton, but it kind of tastes like chamomile and it could really just be my imagination.

ICECREAMTIME!

And, like, no one really said anything but pretty much all of us have taken intense insults in this thread. Kind of not okay. But it's understandable. And I want ice cream.

I agree.

Most of us wanted staff pick in the first place.

But i am ok if we do the nominations too.

Just more Bull we have to take from disgruntled members.

The thing is, we know people are going to accuse the staff of picking favorites or whatever. It happens all the time. I think it's the best solution, too. It's cleanest, fastest, and many of the people in this thread (including myself) have wanted it since the beginning.

I don't think the nominations will stick or stand up to the complaints of the other members at all. At all. It's practically already shot down and the vote isn't technically over.

Thanks Hunka. I missed that. I guess that's the end of the Mexican border threads dealing with the "you-know-who"s that are causing violence, kidnapping and killing people.

Seriously, it was that 2 hour premiere crap fest, where everyone and there grandmother attacked us. I am glad we stuck to our guns though.

Here we go again......

As for me I cannot consider either proposal fair as they stand.

Your list of nominees was started and stopped at arbitrary times by the members involved in this thread during a short span of time. To me this was unfair.... so whether your nominees are the only ones voting amongst themselves.... or ... the only ones being considered by staff... either way... it's blatantly unfair as far as I am concerned. Thus I object.... for the same reason I've been objecting all day.

Yea, many will accuse favouritism, but seriously, they can say the same thing about us voting, so Staff pick is best IMO.

I know... I know it's hard for people to read like 80 pages but it's also completely unfair to start yelling out of nowhere because you THINK we're not trying to support everyone's ideas. There isn't one idea that's been mentioned for like 9 hours that hasn't been mentioned before that. Which is why, staff, come on, let's just get it over with. Because it's unfair for the members who are sticking up for the general good and putting a lot of effort into this to be basically reprimanded by others. And have all their work go to waste.

Exactly. But I look it this way, if I am on the DISC (by whatever means) I am going to represent as many as possible. If I am not, then I will make sure that as many as possible are heard by those that are on the DISC.

It was by thought thought alone that I would not withdraw from consideration. And why I accepted the list vote as authentic way in the first place. The point is to represent. Personal thoughts and opinions are secondary so long as voices are heard and considered.
