Me. I could care less about the committee. I just want the forum.

No I know, I just meant it makes it easier for other members to understand it without reading 40 pages. The only thing is that maybe edit it so that the link to the list takes to Darcon's single post? And to update the list, Darcon, for the changes in nominations?

And I have high hopes that we will get the new forum. I think we will.

You definately better make sure these people chosen are either users of a drug and hopefully THC is one of them or that they at least tried it. Another important thing this group will have to have is their wanting to legalize THC in any form.

If they don't have these feelings then they are useless to represent ATS as they are fighting for the ability to speak freely. This is what was stated in the OP from SO. These members that are being voted on better have the idea that MJ or THC is good and that it is totally ridiculous to ban its being talked about at all. This groups real agenda should be for the unbanning of any talk and for better ideas to keep those that may complain out of the threads.

If I hate discussions about my religion and then go into a thread that is bad mouthing my religion, do I have a valid beef if I try to complain to the mods? Let's be grownups now, if you don't want to read something, don't go to the page that you would read it on. Don't allow access to NON ATSrs about certain subjects, just like they don't have access to certain other functions unless a member.

This group is fighting for our right to have free speech. MJ is legal where I live.... Torture and child abuse and sedition are not at all. Why is this being talked about on ATS????

Wake up and see what ATS is doing. They are making like the government. It is about to occur and you must accept it. The group is going to fight for our right to free speech, no matter where you live and what the laws are... Free speech zones are in and it is illegal to voice your opinion in the UK. Does that mean anyone that is on ATS from the UK should not have the right to their opinion???

Wake up!!!!!!!! They already block enough and limit some information that is deemed valid... Like this post? Do the points that actually make any sense get put into the average users thread?

I believe it is getting a bit political, which is why i steeped down. I will take you off the list. Sad, i believed you would be a good person in the committee, if you were chosen.

The link to the nominations list does take the members to that single post.

The link at the top of the summary brings members to the thread itself.

I was going to post this in the summary thread (thanks skeptic1, by the way), but it is locked. Anyway, I was away from ATS for some time (I have been busy) and I wonder why we can't just talk about things such as legislation. I was shocked about that thread's topic, but now I question its authenticity simply because it was removed. Why can't we discuss legislation with strict moderation? Feel free not to answer, as this must of been discussed many times already.

I thought, when I first read this thread and got my u2u, it was about illegal drugs only.......

But when I found out, it would be about ANY drugs, wow, that is just not right. We should be able to discuss what is going on in the pharma industry! That is a huge part of everything happening right now, plus there history goes back to what they did and how they supported Hitler. They are truely part of the PTB - and the whole meltdown.

That would be completely wrong, if we could not discuss that segment of everything happening and what they have done to others.

Would that even mean, no threads about the Supreme Court not allowing Pharma companies to be sued for the drugs they release anymore?

Does that mean we couldn't discuss the fact that they can now release drugs that can kill people left and right without having to worry about reprecussions?

If we had anything about drugs which related to pharma companies - not allowed as topics, then I would rethink being here on ATS, because then I would feel there is more going on behind the scenes and ATS being affliated with those companies to not allow those topics.

So, now, are all those above type threads not allowed also???

Sorry, haven't read every post....................... but I do know, I will seriously look at leaving, if the above type topics are off limits! Because they are important!

Haha, that's what we're trying to see happen in a separate board just for that topic so it can be more strictly moderated but the discussion of things like that, and spiritual positive effects, and cultural differences in legislation, and stuff like that can still be discussed.

Haha, funny. Come on, they're letting us have a serious voice here, and I for one would be really disappointed if they just start banning and deleting everything to do with drugs. I think a new separate forum is the best idea. Even though I don't do drugs myself, I feel really strongly about this. Every voice should be heard as long as it isn't immature or really inappropriate "I LOVE SMOKING WEED!!" type stuff.

It's a legit issue, just like everything else on this website.

Well your going to have a biased opinion because it's the same member names floating around and there's alot of people with apparent "friends" here.

I don't think that matters... I mean, we're all voiced our opinions on here and what we want to see done. If someone hasn't proposed or supported or commented on anything or doesn't agree with what you want, don't vote for them.

Like whatever people will probably say that about me but I've been on this thread for 7 hours and I've clearly stated what I think needs to be done so that everyone can have pretty much free speech, and that people won't be offended, and that there is a safety net for the people who want to talk drugs but aren't serious about any real issues, or don't have any real evidence to back themselves up (stoner talk).

I think everyone who was nominated had a right to be, and I think it's sad that comments like that caused some really good nominees to step down.

I see a golden opportunity going to waste here. As other members have mentioned, a limited number of threads containing the key issues to do with this subject could play a big part in contributing not only to ATS but to the whole online community in general.

Revised rules applied to these few threads and strict monitoring by appointed staff would keep things under control. Just like the 9/11 or Gaza forums.

If anyone can address this topic well it's the members of ATS.

Yes, there are many sites that already deal with the topic and probably better at the moment, but that could also be said of many other ATS forums couldn't it?

Something about this whole affair just doesn't seem right to me. I think other members may feel the same.

How can we turn on lights and open doors without even being let in the building. I want to help reveal truth everywhere, not just where I'm "allowed" by the powers that be. It's not being rebellious towards ATS, it's being open-minded WITH ATS.

The ATS motto is suffering from this and being discussed elsewhere already, what's next?

Yeah, I mean that's why most of the nominees for the committee, including myself, want to see an isolated board for these topics. They're legitimate and deserve a chance to be tackled by some of the best minds on here! And like, if people abuse this opportunity by being immature or whatever, then they lose their chance. Lots of us want to see a second chance for this, and I think the admins will listen to us.

inappropriate "I LOVE SMOKING WEED!!" type stuff.

Now what's the difference between that comment above and the one " you would want to get rid of Gitmo bay? These people deserve to be tortured. Even those that may be not guilty. They must have done something to have the government torture them. Torture is good. I love torture. It gets confessions."

Here's a personal statement from a exmilitary... "I've done torture and it works. It provides results."

Is that an acceptable statement??? The UN has recently stated that the US is in violation of the torture laws....

AM I BEING HEARD or BLOCKED? Surely we have more reasonable people here on ATS.
