Please provide a link, I have got to see this. Is he even old enough to have a doctorate? I went searching and came up with nothing.

*EDIT:No Ph.D here

Canis love of computers and the Internet led him to study computer science at DeKalb Community College in Atlanta for three years. While at DeKalb, Canibus also got into the allied health field. He had always been interested in genetic engineering, and college gave him the chance to learn about radiology. He interned at an MRI center, examining war veterans.

This may be a little off topic as far as this thread goes, but its about subliminal messaging in hip-hop music.

I'm not sure about the lyrics per se, or NWO/Illuminati subliminal messages, however, I would like to point out the increased conspicuous consumption hip-hop culture propogates (by no means is this limited to the hip-hop culture/genre, however, I do feel its more apparent and deliberate on the part of someone - whether that be the hip-hop artists or othewise)

For example, (and I know this can be considered marketing/advertising, but read through first) luxury car manufacturers (Cadillac, BMW, etc.) are all prominant in music videos and around hip-hop culture. The same is true of Designer clothing (Prada, Gucci...) expensively elaborate jewelry (Bling Bling) and possessing large quantities of money on one's person (i.e. a "Balla.")

In my opinion, this isn't as prominent among other genre's of music, I mean Chevy does rhyme with levy, but would BMW fit in a similar context even if something rhyming could be found? Or even Cady for that matter? I don't think so. Further I think Hip-hop music marks a shift in either culture values or more sinisterly, a shift in what corporations are telling Americans to do with their money. One would be amazed as to how certain segments of the population spend money in regards to utility vs. appearent worth of a given good or service. I think this problem has two causes, one being poor financial knowledge, and the second being the subliminal advertising forced upon poorly financially-educated people. So Yes, I absolutely believe we are being forced, as a population, not individuals, to over consume, or put another way, consume goods that may be those traditionally purchased by higher socio-economic classes, by the action of corporations placing their messages in hip-hop culture.

I never did find the Ph.D, but I heard it somewhere I know. Anyways, read the lyrics to this song and TELL me canibus is not a member of TAS

[Canibus]
Approximately fifty years ago
under the direction of President Harry Truman
and in the interest of national security
A group of twelve top military scientific personnel were established
This group's primary objective
was to desensitize us to the truth
And to suppress the material evidence that our planet is being visited
by a group of extraterrestrial biological entities called the grays

Tune in to channel zero (8X)

[Canibus]
Yo, sometimes the road to the truth is, so elusive it's confusin
And reality becomes illusion
If I showed the masses where we was at or where we was goin
I'd shatter the social balance of the world as we know it
I'm talkin bout the grand deception, of 1947
When our souls were sold to the heavens
for technologically advanced weapons
Crystal enhanced, brain implants, and mind control methods
MJ-12 is not majestic
And the focal point of our problems on this planet are not domestic
You can accept it or be stupid and be a skeptic
and fail to recognize the secret society's deathwish
Ninety-seven percent of our Presidents were Masons
Responsible for launderin trillions of dollars from the nation
for the construction of underground military installations
Abductions and cattle mutilations
Experiments on human patients
can take place in several subterranean bases
A hundred and fifty stories below a basement
With knowledge of genetic information, you need to fear science not Satan
Cause through the manipulation of certain biological agents
they create strange creations
Top secret special operations
Low frequency sounds and lasers, people like Carl Sagan
that didn't believe in the Drake equation
were tryin to keep Western civilization on the need-to-know basis
Well you need to know that this is a game
and we're bein betrayed and played in the worst way

Tune in to channel zero (8X)

[Canibus]
Yo, the holy script from Genesis 1-26
says, "Let us make man in our image under our likeness"
First of all who's THEY? You see if God
was truly a single entity that's not what he would say
We as the Elohim, Gods and Goddesses
posess a marvelously monsterous subconscious
Lifeforms that speak, in very high pitched sounds and squeaks
Short staccato clicks and beeps
A highly advanced form of speech
Even though to us it seems like they only chatterin they teeth
They used to swim deep in the oceans beneath
Til they fins transformed into limbs and they started to creep
Then they evolved into mammals with feet
And walked right from the shorelines onto the beach
They used gravity, cause it's actually the only force around
that could slow time and the speed of light down
The energy grid network, opened the gateway from Earth
to any point in the universe
Livin organisms and various, geomagnetic gravitational, anomaly areas
Space expedition teams in the lunar regions
reported seein, decapyramids and tetrahedrons
Liquid filled shoes, is what they used
to walk across the moon without leavin a clue
of where they been for the past twenty-three billion years
Before life on the surface even appeared
I hope you become aware what I'm spittin in your ear
was intended to stimulate your left-brain's hemisphere
I know it sounds weird, all these mother#in answers
and questions to the grand deception

Tune in to channel zero (16X)

not related, but this is a song by Insane Clown Posse. Its called "terrible". Its mainly a dig at the US media, etc.

Oh my God, look at that, turn it up please
Poor Nancy Kerrigan's sweet little knees
Somebody took a black thing and went thump
That's terrible we heard about it for months
What about that one nobody guy that they found?
Dead in the grass
With his dick in his ass
Unless there was more
But you won't recall
Cause Michael Jackson squeezed up on some little kids balls
What you consider drama ain't all that
It's just that your whack
With your intergalactic satellite data compress
Yes, tho we can't feed the homeless
And then OJ's wack story unfolded
Everybody watched that while Oklahoma exploded
900 good reasons why this world really don't care
That's what it costs for a wheel chair

(Chorus)
What you know about terrible?
Terrible, you don't know what's terrible
Terrible, what you know bout terrible?
Terrible, you don't know what's terrible
Is she so terrible you gotta beat her you bitch ass wack mother#a!

La di da we gotta protest that
Some rock and roll ninja bit the head off a rat
Let's march in his concert and chant him to Hell
Cause he's so #ing TERRIBLE!
Meanwhile his record sales double and triple
Cause of YOU worrying about him rubbing his nipple
Religious?
#, you helped them bands
Instead of helping them poor people eating out of them garbage cans
When you're done with that bitch, come protest me
Shiiiiit mother#a, I could use the money
The whole world was crying when Kurt went CoBANG!
When Eazy-E died though, it wasn't no thang
Rapper dies of aids but you hardly mention
Rocker blows his face off and becomes a legend
Heroine and a shot gun, a hero was made
Maybe I should do that # so J can get paid

(Chorus)
What you know about terrible?
Terrible, you don't know what's terrible
Terrible, what you know bout terrible?
Terrible, you don't know what's terrible
Are your kids so terrible you gotta beat on them too you drunk mother#a?

Rebel flag, in your schools
Rebel flag, in your parks
Rebel flag, in your court rooms
Rebel flag, in your hearts
Rebel flag, stood for slavery
Rebel flag, stood for war
Rebel flag, stood for hatred
But just go ahead and hang your flag up some more
Don't worry about my god damn flag boy what's terrible is these damn rappers cursing

The country we live in was built by slaves
Beat down and murdered and stuffed in they graves
You put a slave owner on a 1 dollar bill
And you wanna know why I kill people
Bombs are blowing up, cops are corrupt
And all you care about is who the president #ed
You don't know terrible, you will
As soon as our wagons come over the HILL!

(Chorus)
What you know about terrible?
Terrible, you don't know what's terrible
Terrible, what you know about terrible?
Terrible, you don't know what's terrible
You don't even know whats the # is in store for that bitch ass of yours
Let me get a look at that bitch ass of yours
There it is, it looks like a bitches ass you bitch ass mother#a
Terrible, what you know about terrible?
Terrible, you don't know what's terrible
Terrible, what you know about terrible?
Terrible, you don't know what's terrible
Terrible, what you know about terrible?
Terrible, you don't know what's terrible
Terrible, what you know about terrible?
Terrible, you don't know what's terrible

Germaine Williams (Canibus) is without doubt the most intelligent rapper every, without doubt

Check out his song called no return, he raps about scientists gathering to spy on people on earth from space.

Anyhoo... he is the most intelligent

I would like to think nearly any genre has it's share of those artist's who are in touch with what is going on..
Punk: Bad Religeon
Metal:Megadeth
Industrial:KMFDM

just to name a few good examples..

i would guess rap because of the multitude of lyrics makes it easier to convey messages.

y0,

You guys know the Hip Hop group Jedi Mind Tricks?

Their lyrics prolly cover everything on ATS

Example:

Jedi Mind Tricks - Books of Blood - The Coming of Tan (feat. El Eloh from the Lost Children of Babylon)

(Riley Martin, author of 'The Coming of Tan', speech sample)
"Perhaps you will believe the million feet of film that's been taken above...
uh... Mexico City, and various other places
If you think that you are alone in this universe
or that you are the guardians of this universe, then you are rudely mistaken"

[El Eloh from Lost Children of Babylon]
Took a physical odyssey
To the fathers of Shabazz
With the shamans of the Cherokees
Arrived in Nevada, 10 miles away from NASA
Met the farmer, in which he revealed to me the
Ohioan crop circles that linked all the star constellations
To 19th galaxy... The metaphysists
That quote the Roswell
New Mexican deserts of death valley
Will he be, extraterrestrial biological entity
discovering extraordinary memories
Glided across Glassland
Suddenly seeing illuminations from the seven heavens circle of sand
Of Area 51 and 57, separate the schoolkid and reveal the reptilian
I seen the CIA transform into the species of Greys
The Sabbath seven adding up to seven levels of the Majestic 12
Neoclassic traveller
I Travel the Twilight Zone with Einstein and Nikola Tesla
Walk through the wilderness of Ibilis
as the flying disc, of Ezekiel
the pope stands upon the podium
Becomes a Zeta Reticulian
behold the arrival of the Elohim ..."

[IKon the Verbal Hologram]
...Beware the prophecies of the Tarots!
Alien Spacecraft flying away like Sparrows!
Study the lost prophetic books of the bible
That recites Fallen body energies: spiritual survival
Flying discs seen in Ezekiel 1:3
Granted Kingu a tablet of destinies
Seviates spoke the word of the Bavarian illuminati
I bring forth harmonics of Hiroshima and Nagasaki!
Annunaki planted the seed where I dwell
either vortex turbines pulling me to hell
awareness upon my savannah as omni dimensional
great species has a common memory complex of the social
liquid crystal colloidal membranes responding
to the spectrum of the universal intelligence matrix...
the basis is that extraterrestrials created Christ
and have a device
that recorded all of Earth's history
and can display it in the form of a hologram precise;
Construction of synthetic humanoids is among us
You have entered the Land Of Nod now, face the deafening thunders
And the spiritual wonders
because the harvest now is coming
Beware the world-wide ancient tunnel system
the government is running
Hectic! Verbal slaughter of the Judeo-Christian Ethic!

[El Eloh]
The world has turned on its last spin
The coming of Tan- That is when ya learn! (x2)

[El Eloh]
Fled with the 5, led through a European wooded ravine
And seen Stone henge connect and bring upon the Annunaki
The Highest kabbalah mystic chants by Elohim
And looks to the sky for prophecy
Was abducted in Nebraska
Then taken back to the laboratory, experiment performed before me
Non earthly alien autopsy!
Psycho social biological and electro-
-Magnetic manipulation of human consciousness
The Vulcan walks about the abyss!

[IKon the Verbal Hologram]
The Verbal Hologram: Wordal killer like Shark eyes
Speak Babylonian and Hebrew genesis like the Star Gods
Blessed by Biaviians like the French theologians
Anti-Christ is coming in the form of a powerful Roman!
Development of Aids was funded in 1969
For the seven (G-7)
and injected into 100 million Africans in 77
Cuneiform inscriptions in Western Asia of the Nabu
Dwell in hell, celestial bodies : twelve like Kathabu
But I can rob you of your spirit soul like Xenu
Elders imprisoned, negative Para-physical beings we knew
Function outside the time-track like Ississani
I chose to be enclosed and I fold too, like Origami
Comprehend the theory of reflection like Paromatma
In the epic Sanskrit history of the world like Mahabharata
Praise to His Divine Grace AC Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupada

[Chorus]

[Riley Martin]
"If you stood above the stratosphere and downloaded 7 gigawatts of negative ions
into the turbines would this not disrupt the..electromagnetic flow?"

There are no subliminal messages in rap music (as they are not in any kind of music). It is not proven that one can put subliminal messages in any kind of music.

Old school rap, up to 1990, was about two things:

1) party music (LL Cool J, Run DMC, Salt-n-Pepa, Heavy D, etc)
2) political awareness, mostly represented by Public Enemy.

Public Enemy talked about the new world order and the things to come, the war, etc. Chuck D once was asked "what is this war you are talking about ?", and he replied "the coming new world order's war". That was 16 years ago.

Public Enemy was, and still is, the best rap group ever existed. They had a purpose, and they knew how to really rock the house.

Then, in 1990, NWA came along, and they #ed everything up. It's not that I don't like them, in fact, they were one of the most talented and most dynamic group ever (2nd to public enemy, in my opinion), but they shifted the focus to the black community's problems in an twisted way: suddently, it was cool to be a gansta.

The whole today's pop R&B ows a big deal to NWA's Dr Dre, who is a genious enterpreneur. He was the one that brought Eminem on the front line. After establishing the gang rap culture along with Snoop Doggy Dog, he realised that more white people listened to his music than blacks! suddently, the things he disliked most became a reality: his fans where more white boys than black people! That's why he brought Eminem forward.

I remember one time after a concert, he was accompanied to his bus by the local police. An MTV journalist then came up to him and ask him how ironic it was that the man that created the anarchist song '# the police' was now being protected by the police. Dr Dre smiled and replied "things change, but I am here".

The new generation of rappers are a little ...untalented. I doubt that they can really make up new lyrics on the fly, let alone rap them. They are too spoiled. In the good old times, Kool Mo Dee and his crew gathered in a corner of his neighbourhood and rapped all day long, making new lyrics every moment...nowadays, these new rappers can't even spell, let alone construct lyrics on the fly. They only care about the fancy cars and their fat pockets.

There's quite afew, most rappers do it for attention so they can make more money. The more controversial, the more attention equals more money. Just simple logic.

OR

If you REALLY did care about what was going on, and you had access to the world via music you might want to try and wake up a few people....!

I agree some do certain songs to make money, however some clearly understand not all is right with Earth and their messages reach out a little futher then us here on the board.

well you get the picture, this is what the kids like. tupac is definatly a violent indivual. hopefully they can gather the fact he is dead, and this is not the proper outlook on life. if you maintain this attitude for long you will also wind up six feet under. sadly there is little voice of reason in the ghetto. i went to a party last weekend, on the east side of san jose, that is where the population is 25% mexican 25%asian 25%white 25% other the rough side of town. i live on the west side, the rich side of town comprised mostly of white. it was by all means a great party! around 150 people, everyone was having a blast, dj was great, neigboors were great. low and behold about 3 fights broke out. people screaming shouting chaos enued. my point is, violence is greatly accepted in our present culture, and for the less privilaged in our society it is the only means of getting a point across and proving your worthyness. out of the 150 people there were about 3 white people lol! fortunatly i tower over the majority of them so they dont bother causing trouble with me, even though i still have to keep it cool. after the violence died down, i met a friend of mine who was just arriving at the party (i was smoking some refer around the corner) he walked in, quickly walked out to his car. got a steel rod out of his truck, and pressed onward with a grimace. stating "theres gonna be trouble!" i replied " i realize that dood" and pleaded with him "dont to do anything stupid." fortunatly my words struck a chord and he left.

Maybe they knew about NWO

Chuck D spoke of NWO back from 1985, when no one even knew that the Soviet Union would collapse. He was considered crazy back then.

But political rap has died when gangsta rap spread in the early-mid 90s. There is no subliminal message in rap music today, except that all women are bitches, all that is worth is money, etc etc etc (maybe 'they' wanted it that way, because political rap was THE opportunity for many things to be heard)

yes the government probably loves gangster rap because it encourages us to kill each other. that way we are unable to ask any questions.

It's not sublime, not sublime at all.

The messages are in fact subliminal. It's ok to smoke drugs be a thug and treat women as objects. Well if you listen the the 'music' (loose term).

Hey lets wear a stupid bandaide on our face cos I cut myself pretending to shave. I have a gold tooth cos I wantz da bling bling.
