You have a outstanding &very clear recall of this sighting. I found only ONE reported incident for that month, year, location in NUFORC, www.nuforc.org...

I strongly recommend that you report the incident. Any info from other family members may assist as well.

Great depiction of the sighting!

I'll bet there are scores of ATS'ers who have seen UFO's but didn't have a camera at the time, and as we all know, if you post without PROOF on ATS you'll get eaten alive. I see "Either show us a pic or it didn't happen" or something to that effect all the time on here. But there's got to be many of us (myself NOT included) who've seen them.

I'd like to read some of the more plausible witness stories from people who don't have "proof" but have had sightings and maybe more.

Ok first some background.

I'm an avid aviation Hobbiest, have been since the age of 10. Military aviation is my strength. I spent 4 years in the Navy as an Operations specialist and my ability to ident. planes was so good I got placed in the intel gathering team on my Frigate. I attend airshows and still try and stay abreast of whats going on out there.

Ok now to the encounter.

I was about 15 living in Southern N.J. so this would of been around 1980. Summer time and I was taking the dog out to her run in the backyard. Suddenly I hear this very strange "whooshing" noise and I look up. Maybe 100 ft away, just above the tops of the trees I see what is making the noise, I can see two blinking red lights moving very slowly. The noise was somewhat like that of a Harrier hovering but rose and fell up and down the register more. I stood there dumbstruck watching these lights pass by me slowly but steadily, I tried calling out for my mom but nothing escaped my throat. I also had a large lantern in my hand and the darn thing would not work! (it was always tempremental so don't read to much into it) if it had I would of lit up the craft for sure.

So after a few minutes its out of sight and I rush in, my mother asked what took so long and I explain. She doesn't say much but believes me. The next day she calls the Police and explains to them what happened, she is on with them for some time. When she is done she tells me the Police got several calls about the lights as they traveled along route 9.

I really don't know what it was that flew over but I can say it was not like anything I have encountered before or since

Yes, I have had 2:
First one was in 1989-90, I was in last year of Middle School. At this point I was heavily into military aircraft, routinely went to airshows, attended space camp that summer. In general knew just about as much as some of our ATS experts on aircraft know now. Orlando, Fl approx 6am, still dark. Lived 5 miles outside the Orlando Airport right under the N/S runway approaches. waiting at the bus stop I layed down on the sidewalk and looked up and saw a black triangle with 3 white lights and 1, non strobing red one. moving in a slow motion accross the runway approaches. At this time NO commercial air traffic was allowed due to noise ordinances. It proceeded across the flight lanes then made an abrupt 90 degree left hand turn ( kinda like the lightcycles in Tron). Then made another and putted back the way it came, except after about 5 seconds it shot off in the same direction from a virtual standstill with no noise or sonic boom. The whole incident was quiet. When I came home from school I told my dad and he urged me to call the tower at OIA and they put me on hold and returned to tell me they had nothing in the area at that time of the morning.

Incident 2: 1994 , Senior Trip to Cancun, Mexico, Beach side Hilton. 8pm Recovering from the welcoming case of Montezuma I was standing on the balcony with one of my friends both sober. Over the ocean we saw a bright yellow light hanging in the sky. There was what looked like a large boat possibly a tanker on the horizon. After postualting what it could be it emitted a bright green "laser" or energy beam across the horizon for about 15 seconds. Once the beam stopped the light faded completely out.

I saw clear silver disc over Long Island a few years ago - one other person with me - it moved very fast, stoped - then shot off in another direction.

I have also seen one.

A friend, his son and I were camping at Mirror lake on the east side of Mt Adams in WA state. I saw a bright strobe type flash and a few seconds later another bright flash a little further to the south of the first. I called the attention of my friends 18 year old son......a few seconds later another flash. These first flashes were between us and the mountain at aprox. 10,000 ft level of mountain (Fairly decent moon lighting the mountain in background) As we both watched we saw this another 2 times at slightly increasing altitudes. We tried waking my friend who was asleep in the tent at the time, no luck, and then saw a final brighter flash with a large streak skyward and it was gone.

I spoke with the Native American rangers in the morning (This is on the Yakama reservation.) and started describing the details...and was interrupted ...."So you saw one of our friends? We see UFO's all the time up here."

I have no idea as to the identity of this phenomena, but I do know that my friends son now refuses to go camping way up there in the boonies with us.

I've seen something and reported to mufon and nuforc. (9/24/07 - PA)

I suggest if you guys want to just by-chance of having a camera ready - keep a film camera around, such as a disposable camera, which doesn't use batteries. Some people report battery devices failing when they see something close-up (like within a 1/2 mile, that kind of thing) and cannot take a picture when their equipment fails.

I'd like to have one in the car for a number of reasons - going to pick one up today, in fact. You know, good for things like photos of accident damage if you get into one - or nice scenery shots - or sightings.

Getting film developed may be a tough thing if you take it to a shop to get developed and they keep the negatives, whatever. Some shops don't peruse your photos while others do. Walmart has a film developing service - it may be ok as the people there wouldn't know what they're looking at

I saw a few popping up like white dots here in Florida about 5 or 6 years ago, i called out a few of my friends and they saw them too but they didn't believe they were UFOs, they were white dots and they would pop up and disappear about 7 or eight of them

I haven't posted on this forum in a long while. But I like this topic you've put up.

When I was 5 years old, I'm certain I saw a reptilian like creature looking at me through the ceiling of my bedroom. Its not like a hole was punched through my ceiling, its head just dipped down through the ceiling and looked at me. I don't have many memories of my childhood, but this one was quite prominent. To this day I attribute the incident to adolescent night terrors. Similar terrors occured over several years where I fealt like I was falling from a distance higher than the ceiling of my bedroom and landing on my bed. I remember the feeling of it, but I don't remember my surroundings or where I was or how I came to be falling.

When I was 9 years old, I got a telescope for my birthday. I pursued interests in astronomy for a few years. Being young, my efforts were equal to a grade school level essays on the solar system. Finding venus was easy, but once.. only once did I see an odd object in the sky. I was pretty sure it was close to my house (in the atmosphere, probably a dozen kilometers away). I concluded that because the object was quite clear. It was a bright white cigar with a small dome on the top center with 3 dark orbs, bubbles, windows, not sure equally lined up on the exposed side that I was looking at. I saw it, looked at it carefully for about a minute, went to go get my mother to come look at it and I couldn't relocate it again. Spent hours that night trying to find it again in the sky. My mother told me that I just saw a satellite and that they pass over rather quickly. I've seen skylab and many other satellites during those years, that wasn't a satellite.

When I was 13 years old I was walking home with a friend of mine. During the summers my friends and I always went out late but would walk everywhere we wanted to go. Some summer night, around 2am, my friend and I noticed this bright orange orb in the sky. It was rather large, about half the size of the moon. It was bright and it seemed close. At first we thought it was an approaching helicopter and thought nothing of it. Minutes later it occured to us that the orb wasn't moving. We stopped walking in order to confirm that it wasn't moving. We stared at it for a good 10 minutes, discussing about what it could be. Then it moved to our right, in the sky. It was really spooky because the movement wasn't fluid. There was no acceleration or deceleration. It was there, immediately moved at a static speed, and instantly stopped. There was no shape of an object, no sound, no blinking lights, no other colors. It was just a creepy orange ball in the sky. It stayed in its new position for the entire 30 minutes it took for us to walk home. We told our families and a lot of friends about it, but they all brushed it off as an exhagerated story of a low flying helicopter. Even the next day I couldn't find any mention of the event on any radio stations, newspapers, or tv news programs. Who knows what it was.

So from my perspective, I've witnessed the following in my life between the mid 80's to the early 90's.

1) Alien encounter with possible repeated abductions.
2) A cigar shaped UFO.
3) An orb shaped UFO.

The people I've told about these things have told me that I've witnessed the following.

1) Night Terrors
2) A Satellite
3) A Helicopter

I can't prove any of this. It's my own little truth.

I count 4 reports in the Ft. Lauderdale area for December '08. You know the area well enough to determine direction of travel so you may want to look at the reports as per dates.

I saw one.
Me and my bro.
Everyone we told thought it must have been a plane,
but it wasn't a thing like that. It was definatly a U.F.O.

Here's my UFO story!
It was while I was a child - though I can't remember exactly which year now! I must have been about 10 or 11 years old as I was still at primary school in my last year there. That makes it about 1980 or 1981. It was also a very clear and sunny day (in the Midlands, UK). It was our "play time" and the whole school was outside generally having fun as kids do - and I was with my usual crowd of 3 or 4 girlfriends I had back then (we've lost touch now - a pity, as they saw it too). I remember looking up as I became aware of a dark object in the corner of my vision and a shadow was cast over the playground - many other children had noticed this too and were looking up (though the majority carried on playing at this point). The object in the sky couldn't be anything other than a UFO - as it was just so clear and low in the sky. It was about the size of a football pitch and a flat rectangle in shape - I'd say the length of it was approx 3 times the width. It blocked out most of your vision against the sky - it was only very slowly flying/hovering at a height of about 80 feet max - it was VERY low and VERY clear and stopped right over the playground! The detail on the bottom of the ship was fascinating. I remember just taking it all in - I wasn't the remotest bit scared - neither were the other children. We all just stopped and stared. It was all a mid-grey colour - but not metallic (it wasn't "shiny" - just dull). I can only liken it to the bottom of star ships you see on fictitious programs such as Star Wars - e.g. under an Imperial Space Cruiser or the Millennium Falcon!!! Loads of what I can only describe as symmetrical lines/pipes/ squares/doors maybe? Nothing moved or opened and there were no lights. My particular group were stood near the two "dinner ladies" on duty that day (not sure what you call them in the US - and the name has probably been changed here to make it more politically correct now!). We asked them what it was - we were all excited - and they said they didn't know but we were all to go inside. They blew their whistles to end play time (about 5 minutes early) and they got us all inside. The classroom I was in was at the back of the school - and when we looked out of the windows it was gone.

Our parents at the time told us it must have been "the Goodyear air ship" which did fly around on occasion at that time - but the air ship was so instantly recognisable as it had a huge "Goodyear" logo down both sides, was typical rugby ball shaped and had a large "people-carrier compartment" with windows suspended from the bottom. It would never have flown that low either - unless it was about to crash! Basically, our parents didn't believe us - and it never made the local news let alone main stream. We all had a UFO group from school for ages after that - but then when we moved onto to different secondary schools a few months later it all just fizzled out - except for me. Ever since that visit I started to have full "aura" migraines - as a child, it started as a blind spot, then led to me being physically sick. As an adult, I now get full "rainbow zig-zags" that fill my whole vision then a "sore" head that lasts for 3 to 4 days. Thankfully, I'm no longer sick! I only get about 3 or 4 a year, so can't complain. In the run up to these migraines I often get various lights and images - sometimes these are like kaleidoscopes full of amazing geometrical patterns and other times I get symbols and images that I have no idea what they are, but appear to be like hieroglyphics or an ancient language. They used to scare me but now I ignore them. I now also have premonitions and clairevoyance. Run out of space. Ho hum, there we go.

Back to the padded cell... ;-)

I live "out in the woods" in Oregon. I have a very nice view out over the high desert, the western edge of the Great Basin covering the US and northern Mexico. For over 10 years now myself, family and friends have been watching "strange lights in the sky." We watch in befuddlement as these lights perform maneuvers that are impossible as far as anyone present has ever understood what our technology is capable of in regards to "physics". The conclusion? There is stuff out there that is unknown and that our sad little monkey brains just don't get. The point? There is stuff out there we don't get. You can subscribe to Bill Cooper or Salvia Divinorum but the bottom line is "did you see that? That didn't make any sense..." Helicopters, airplanes etc. can't pull that off...It could be "aliens" it could be fed.gov, it could be whatever. It is what it is. It is something that doesn't make sense when computed with input vs. current understanding of reality.

Approximately at the hour between 9 and 10pm about a year ago I would be outside of my house in central Utah for various reasons such as collecting fire wood, smoking or just going down town to get a drink. (non alcoholic) Or I would just be out talking with my dad or with a friend.

On multiple occasions me and then afterward my dad would notice something in the sky above moving very very slowly. Now to rule out the other possibilities, this light was whitish blue not blinking and moving in a zig zag pattern across the sky usually from NW to SE.

It was below the cloud line and was easily visible as it flew low enough to light up the clouds above it. It was quite bright, was completely silent and on one occasion actually circled or appeared to circle our house or block.

This is something that happened regularly for approximately 5 to 7 days. My friend never believed in UFO's until I pointed this object out to him one of those nights and he then quickly changed his mind. I would also mention that it slowly faded out at the mountain which is about a 5 minute drive to the east of us.

I have a few other UFO sightings but this is the weirdest one so far. This in my mind is a UFO and I have no evidence as I did not think to get it on video but now that I got a new camera I think I will try to carry it around more.

I also find it noteworthy to mention that we are 5600 feet above sea level and are not far under the clouds so if it was a helicopter I would have heard it. There are some choppers that fly around from the small airport we have here and you always hear them coming.

Having seen a UFO, I personally know they exist. It is, believe me, something you never ever forget.

It's silly to think the millions & millions of sightings, photos & videos that are around are all fake. While I realize some are, most are NOT. UFO's exist, for sure.

I did not have a camera, as I was fishing and it appeared for only around 10 seconds. It was in 1977. I initially told people about it, then I stopped, as I was looked at as some kind of nut. I stopped telling people for 20 + years, then a few years ago, I decided I was getting old, and I really don't care anymore. So the last few years, I tell anyone and everyone.

I know what I saw.

Mmmm well I saw some stuff about a year or so ago in our local park where me and my mates would always meet up. We would stay there 'till about 12 or 1am and a couple of nights with clear skies we all saw some quite strange things.

Mainly what looked like satellites but took weird directions. The more interesting one was on two seperate occasions where I saw a ball of white, bright light pass over me. It seriously didn't seem like it was much higher than my head but it's hard to tell obviously. Went from one side of the sky to the other, silent and consistent. Who knows what they all were though. My main interest in UFO's started then.

I saw 3. The first when I was about 6 years old. The second when I was 17 driving back from Halifax and the 3rd was 5 nights ago, I was at my summer home on the Bras D'or lakes in Cape Breton, NS. It was a week ago from Wednesday, and I was stargazing. It looked like a star, because it was stationary, but after about 15 minutes, it just took off and it was extremely fast.

I might start a thread about it since I am want to make a 3d rendering in Bryce from what I've seen.

Yep
Me too!

was like, 3 orange lights literally above my house, just happily rotating away, then slowly parted and poof! Gone.

But on behalf of debunkers and whatnot, i'm maintaining what UFO stands for.. UNIDENTIFIED! I don't know what it was and don't claim to, but it was damn weird!

I remember seeing one. My best friend and I were playing outside on the grass just after dark when this rectangular object flew above us. It was not far up, I'd say maybe 10/15 feet above the rooftops, and it was this glowing peach colour.

My friend and I looked up at it, looked at each other, and then legged it.

I always wondered what it was.
