Nope. Presidents don't get breaks. And especially not after just a month in office.

The further away from the White House this guy is, the better off we all are.

I'd agree with that except for the fact that presidents don't really take vacations. They are still working from whereever they are. At least .... the ones in the past were. Don't know about Obama yet ...

Please tell us how, relevant to this discussion, Obama is a traitor. If that is so, it's very important that you make us all aware of it.

ok so let me get this straight.. You have no problem with the president sapping us (this country) of everything that our parents ... grandarents ... and their parents have worked SO HARD and even died for, Just so this clown can have what he has never had before.. who did ABSOULUTLY NOTHING for it.

I am sure it is protocol to visit Camp David early on, for the new president. I imagine there are "things" there he must become familiar with as the new president. It belongs to this country and am sure it is equipped with emergency procedures and other "workings." I feel you are sooo angry with Obama being the new president, it is a little scarry to me how you sound. I wish you peace

With over 55k points on ATS so far I think you'd of gotten the hang of posting the LINK to article9s0 by now.

All I see is what you cut pasted (and not in external tags I might add).

All I can gleam from what you posted is he and his family went away to camp David for an "for an overnight stay on Saturday."

An overnight stay and you're gutting the man?

Oh please!

If you demand such perfection on others at least demand a little in yourself.

I'll wait for a link before I add any more of my opinion.

peace

In response to your being upset about this post, why don't you read this one that I posted yesterday and maybe you'll understand my giving this President little to no slack in the vacation column.

Since you so fond of links...here ya go!

As long as he didn't spend as much time there as Bush did, he will be ok.

That being said, I have known people who have seen the elusive private quarters of the white house. It is large apartment, and that is it. The white house really isnt't that big. You can't go out and do anythign without hordes of secret service. Or a 1000 people watching you.

That is the first thing you notice when you look at the white house, it is kinda small, sourrounded by much larger buildings.

I think that is why Bush spent so much time at camp david, because he found the white house to restricting. I can't say I blame either of them.
The white house is very confining.

Camp david has the same access the white house does. POTUS can work from there like he can work from air force one.

Quit grasping at straws.

Is this even your original post?

That one is TOTALLY plagiarized! You didn't even mention a source. You wrote it as your own. I'd think being a member for 5 years, you'd know the rules here...

Sorry for bursting the bubble but our last president had more "days off" that many other presidents, While screwing the nation at the same time

It amazes me how short time memories people tend to have when it caters to their own propaganda.

I love your mind Marg6043. We seem to be on the same page here.

One thing I'd like to clarify...It's not just Mr. Obama who I'm criticizing. Well it is in this case, but that's because he is the President.

I expect more from the guy who sits in the chair and so far I'm not seeing much except a bunch of talk.

To Mr. Obama's credit, he certainly can speak well unlike Mr. Bush who could fumble the most simplistic of sentences.

I am afraid that your comments will fall on blind eyes.

Already they are going nuts over Obama's financial bill when it has been conveniently forgotten that Bush pushed this bill through during the dead of night behind closed door and under the call of constitutional martial law. The same constitution that he called just a piece of paper. The same constitution that he revised to his liking at his advantage.

All the ills of this country suddenly have become the offspring of President Obama. I know that a man takes on the responsibility of the all the members of his new family when he marries the matron but trying to fault him for her eight year old children when some other man was the sole companion in her bedroom is taking it just a bit too far.

He might have to feed them and tend to them but you can’t forget that he married into this house and that brood came from another father.

So what? He's got the hardest job in the world that only a few could ever do, he just got done campaigning for a year, he just moved in to the white house while the country is going through it's current state, has to listen to millions of different voices telling him what he should do and not do, he's got to deal with not only domestic affairs but also foreign, all while being under the spotlight. Oh yeah, and two wars. The guy can take a break on the weekend to blow off some steam if he so desires. Besides, every single leader of this country has had something to help him blow off some steam, take a break from his daily responsiblities. George Washington enjoyed fox hunting, Teddy Roosevelt practiced jujutsu, wrestling, and boxing, and not to mention his outdoor activities such as horse back riding, hunting, etc. FDR enjoyed poker hour, and big deal Obama likes to shoot some hopes to get his mind off of things, get a grip.

LMFAO!!!

Wow...everyone here that has said 'WTF! He's only worked a month! he doesn't deserve a vacation!' are ALL TOOLS!

Why?

Have any of you guys worked non-stop for 2 years straight, taken a new job, found out the idiot before you screwed up the entire company and now you have to fix it from the ground up?

Think of the US like a corporation (which it is), how many days off do most people get? I didn't get any my first year but you know what? I took some days off because...I needed a break. And my job isn't even to the scope that his is.

I'm seriously laughing at most especially at

PS. we the people are the ones who work ourselves to the bone with little reward.

*snip*

I'm glad he's taking breaks and getting away, Bush took over 2 years off while he was in office...2 years...now that's a hell of a vacation package that I could use!

I think that President Obama takes his position seriously as a job.
I am pretty sure he works hard and deserves a weekend night away with his family.

If you think of the US as a corporation and expect everyone else to, then you'd best watch who you call 'tools'.

1 - Even when a president takes a break he really doesn't stop working.

2 - The president of the United States is a PUBLIC SERVANT .. not a corporation demi-God.

3 - America can't afford to have the POTUS (or VP or Cabinet) not at work. The POTUS has to be up and running at all times in regards to the ever-changing world situation. He is the commander in chief and our security depends on it.

4 - If the guy can't take a month of being POTUS without running away then he should not be in the job. I posted a link to the NY Post article and picture of him after just two weeks - tired out - saying 'I have to get out of the White House for a while'.

That's not very encouraging and it doesn't give me the warm fuzzies to know that the POTUS is tired out and is either lazy or bored - pushing away his responsibilities.

5 - He knew the level of responsibiltiy and energy that the position required but he wanted it anyways. Now he's stuck with it so he'd better step up to the plate. if he can't handle it he can always hand the job over to Biden/Clinton. They are definately up for it. (and could do the job well)

I wonder if those who trashed Bush for taking a month long vacation in August (even though he did work the entire time) will bash Obama for taking any time off.
Something tells me no.

I actually have no issue with Presidents taking time off, because they are always working even when they apparently are on "leave". And Id rather have a somewhat rested president then a stressed out one.

I was not a Bush supporter but it does not matter because I was not an Obama supporter either.

I am NPA because I have to go for the lesser of the two evils and hope that the little devil does not out grow the bigger one.

However, I have to put the office of the President in the same category as a medical provider, police officer, firemen, i.e., servant of the people.

You only fool yourself when you take time off. You spend every second praying that the phone does not ring or the beeper does not go off.

You learn to steal moments of pleasure, peace and tranquility because you know the next second is not promised to you.

I am not complaining I am just saying that is the nature of the beast when your job calls for you to serve the citizens of your country.

Actually, prevenge..."crappy" winter weather???

Ahem....I LIVE in DC, and it has been a shirt-sleeve environment for the last several days. Benefits of having a moderating effect of the nearby Ocean....something we call the 'Atlantic'.

Today is Tuesday, we had windows open all weekend at the house....

So much for "crappy" winter weather.....hmmmph!!!
