the second player that is attacking the kicker hit the bottom of the ball after it was kicked
this gave the ball the needed spin to curve into a flater plane

I think most of you are looking the wrong direction...
Congrats for the picture analysis.\
I would also suggest you viewed the vid through the link on youtube...
If you look carefully you will definitely see a kinda whitish transparent object/entity the ball strikes onto when making the sudden deflection of its normal path. Mind me but that trajectory is not the result of any kind of spin or wind gust.....

Be well and objective !

on second thought it could be an object that one i am mentioning in the background... cannot tell.

I have to agree, this looks like it is from the spin of the ball, yes it is pretty dramatic for a soccer ball but the same effect as a baseball breaking over the plate.

I can hardly believe that some people are seriously taking a normal soccer kick with a spin to something outlandish like being deflected off an invisible object. LOL.. Come ON, people....

Maybe ufos like soccer?

Are you really chalking this up to U.F.O's and Vortex's?!
While the back spin on the ball would seem to be the most
logical explanation, I don't know for sure. However, I have
seen pitchers throw some amazing pitches that exhibited
amazing drops and raises.

Do you have any knowledge of vortexes, U.F.O.'s and there
effect on our physical world?!

Ok I dont usually participate in this kind of thread but I have to agree with the Greek here... I did notice the same, its clear that some transparent thing going a bit to the left after the ball makes that weird movement.

And no... look, you guys dont understand soccer
so let me tell you, from this side of the ocean that theres NO WAY a ball does that on a soccer game.

But I did find weird the transparent thing moving away from it after the "hit"... quite strange actually and very interesting assuming its not manipulated.

This will probably get me a warning but...

No more crack for you my friend. Deflected ball? WTH are you talking about. that looks like a pretty standard parabolic arc to me. the ball goes up flies normally comes down normally. there is not ONE SINGLE THING that would make any normal person think there was anything, anything, abnormal about that balls flight.

Invisible object. WTH!!!!

Crack kills buddy.

Now here is a video with no UFOs but with a lot of SPIN.

A LOT and none of them show a ball making an ......ANGLE...!!!

the ball of the video the op provided is definitively being deflect. the expected flight path is being interrupted, respectively blocked.

Its a simple optical illusion. When throwing a curve ball in baseball, the ball makes a continuous arc, but to the batter it looks as if it "breaks" suddenly from a straight path.

The phenomenon is know as Bernoulli's Principle

With the proper amount of back-spin a ball will drop exactly like that if it hits a wind current, moving in the opposite direction, from above.
I can't believe people even argue this.
Think of it like english on a cue ball in billiards. Throw english on the ball and send it directly to a rail. Note how it moves off the rail opposite of the rotation of the ball.

Okay okay okay.... let an actual soccer player through here...

That's a classic spin. What's putting everyone off is the angle from which it is being filmed. If the camera would've been level with the play at the sidelines, we wouldn't be wasting poor ATS' bandwidth like this.

Edit: Spelling...

Shedding vortices.. checking the google vids on that topic you see some examples of periodic vortex shedding. That's good for demonstration purposes but the shedding can be chaotic.. and a sticky vortex that sheds suddenly can result in a sudden change in the trajectory shape from a curve to a straighter path.

In this topic it looks like the camera starts zooming back at the same time as when it looks like the ball changed direction. It could be that the ball's apparent direction with respect to the top of the screen is what's actually changing.. tough to say.

Honestly, saying that the player has a high midi-chlorian count and is strong with the force is as viable as an invisible UFO. It really seems like nothing fishy is going on here to me. And as far as that ball making contact with the white something, I'm pretty sure it's a non functional scoreboard in the background. It's pretty common amongst little league ball fields where they stop working and staff which are nothing more than mom and dad volunteers can't really do anything about it without funds. The video per the youtube norm is just too poor to be able to tell, but I certainly see the outline of a scoreboard in my eyes.

Woooow that ball is totally hitting a ufo. i mean just look at it smack right into the "invisible" ufo and fall to the ground.
thanks for wasting my bandwidth i think I'm gonna sue you're parents for compensation.

seriously we all make mistakes, no big deal
