I HAVE THE SOLUTION TO END THE DRUG WAR!

A: decriminalise plants, not called drugs- like cannabis, mushrooms.

B: For hard addictive drugs, instate hospitals with specialy trained guards and staff to care for those who would go into one to clean up.
There it would provide job opportunities, and a less shocking to the body way of quitting, but you have to check in for at least 3 months if it is severe.

C: penalties for the use or possession of hard drugs would still be jail time, just less, maybe like up to 1 month depending on the arresting events.

There that is all congress needs, now go you responsible mavericks and change the landscape.

Hemp Could Save The World

Hemp is among the oldest industries on the planet, going back more than 10,000 years to the beginnings of pottery. The Columbia History of the World states that the oldest relic of human industry is a bit of hemp fabric dating back to approximately 8,000 BC.

Presidents Washington and Jefferson both grew hemp. Americans were legally bound to grow hemp during the Colonial Era and Early Republic. The federal government subsidized hemp during the Second World War and US farmers grew about a million acres of hemp as part of that program.

Hemp fiberboard produced by Washington State University was found to be twice as strong as wood-based fiberboard

Presidents Washington and Jefferson both grew hemp. Americans were legally bound to grow hemp during the Colonial Era and Early Republic.

In 1937 Congress passed the Marihuana Tax Act which effectively began the era of hemp prohibition. The tax and licensing regulations of the act made hemp cultivation unfeasable for American farmers. The chief promoter of the Tax Act, Harry Anslinger, began promoting anti-marijuana legislation around the world. Hemp can save the world, a million times over, in every respect. People need to realise its potential and start making use of it!!!

Hard addictive drugs...like ehh alcohol? or do you mean synthetics like coke or mdma, lsd etc? Why single out MJ? PS no drug on the market can have you hooked from one use...moderation..moderation,keep repeating that.

ask your self this,
if you found your self out of work, & the cannabis industry in a country as big as the usa could have the potential to employ thousands of people in the textile side of things alone, so nothing to do with drugs, would you refuse to work in the cannabis industry & remain unemployed becuase cannabis is against your principles ?.

Here are problems:

1: CORPS CONTROL Industry means what, exactly? People want 1: Hemp (for rope, industry, etc, etc) and/or 2: Cannabis (THC, pain-relief, exploring inner space, etc, etc). But hwo shall these come to be? Do you want factories? Because if youhave factories, and large scale farm labor, then you have giant Corps, coming in to run it, and you. ...People just want a JOB. But what if they JOB is the PRODUCT? ...My answer is this: As in days of yore, when a certain amount of a certain crop, was taxed, one could imagine a day future, where if a person grows a certain crop, which has a certain market value, that it could be taxed. The industry then returns to the farmer. Industry has now in 2009, moved >away from farmers< and >toward tech and onward/upward progression

yes i mean keep hard drugs illegal, but offer less jail time for possession/sale only, and give more inviting routes for cleaning up.

I would love to start a hemp/marijuana company, to provide the best of textiles and smokables. Hail gods favorite design.

YES there are 100 million Americans BEGGING to be taxed on legal cannabis products. There are entire town that are supported by the industry and it is still and has been the number one cash crop in America for at least 50 years.

I can't find a reason not to.

We can't legalize cannabis. Here are some quotes by Prohibition czar Harry J. Anslinger about why we can't.

"There are 100,000 total marijuana smokers in the US,
and most are Negroes, Hispanics, Filipinos and entertainers.
Their Satanic music, jazz and swing, result from marijuana usage.
This marijuana causes white women to seek sexual relations
with Negroes, entertainers and any others."

"Reefer makes darkies think they're as good as white men."

"...the primary reason to outlaw marijuana
is its effect on the degenerate races."

"An entire family was murdered by a youthful addict in Florida. When officers arrived at the home, they found the youth staggering about in a human slaughterhouse. With an axe he had killed his father, mother, two brothers, and a sister. He seemed to be in a daze… He had no recollection of having committed the multiple crime. The officers knew him ordinarily as a sane, rather quiet young man; now he was pitifully crazed. They sought the reason. The boy said that he had been in the habit of smoking something which youthful friends called “muggles,” a childish name for marijuana."

I just felt this link needs to be put up and available at all times!

www.jackherer.com...

Please use this link if you really want to know the truth behind the myth!
Too many people don't use critical thinking when it comes to this subject and just go along with the Governmental propaganda surrounding this "dangerous drug" (not directed at you SpacePunk)

yep, but the problem is that huge part of existing industry will collapse as a result...

big pharma is one of these (medical cannabis is very effective while not copyrightable), and even oil industry would be threatened (ethanol can be easily extracted from hemp seed and use it with cars)

and those corporations are doing everything that this does not happen

but the truth about this plant is getting out and the fact that there wouldn't be civilization as it is now (what would happen if ancient sailors didn't have sails and ropes made of hemp?)

watch and learn:

the whole playlist: here

yes the god's plant could save the world

Mr. Michael Phelps. Who needs the Wheaties box and the adoration of millions of children when you can have this gig?

You forgot something....the Constitution itself was written on hemp paper, and were early Bibles. And to the poster above who said cops do not make money from pot...think again. I have bought from several cops, who tell me when a bust is going to happen, and when it will be available. I'm talking local and State cops here.

It's very sad that there are people like you out there.

The superbowl was yesterday and you can bet hundreds of millions were spent in advertising for alcohol.

How many people died from alcohol ingestion alone in the time it took for me to type that out?

Was he hurting anyone? The person that sold the media that picture was most likely partaking too, and is now thousands of dollars richer and held to some higher moral standard by idiots like you when he's the one hurting someone (phelps, and anyone who may be "corrupted" by seeing the image) by putting out for profit what otherwise would never have seen the light of day.

i dont think industrys would collapse becuase of cannabis becuase its would take time to change industry into using cannabis, like the pharma companys cannabis is not a cure all, so there are a huge amount of medicens that cannabis can not replace, also the hydrogen & electric cars have not cuased the car industry`s current problems, the car industry is slowley adapting to new fuels.
also the bio fuel industry could also slowley change its practices without collapsing.
& any industry that could not adapt would in time have new jobs created within a new cannabis industry.
so i believe the cannabis industry could be slowley introduced without rocking the boat to much, it may take 5 or 10 years to do but i can not see any reason whyit shouldnt happen & in time may even employ more people than industry`s it could be introduced into.

Who are you calling an idiot?? Perhaps you should unleash on Phelps. I was merely cracking a joke. I like Phelps, but if he wants to toke up, he should do so alone in his basement. Keep your friends close and your enemies closer. Especially those taking pictures of you getting stoned. Just another case of poor judgement.

Like it or not Phelps is an icon to the youth all over this country. Icons need to rise above the fray.

I would love to see alcohol ads taken from TV. I still remember cigarette TV ads from when I was a kid. I never started to smoke because of them though. Tried it, but never liked it.

If you want to use Cannabis as an industry, why not use Wild Cannabis, also known as ditch weed, it produces very little THC and recreational users wouldn't even bother with it.
still make ropes and paper with it ect..........

i agree hemp or ditch weed would be usefull used in industry,
but i would also say depending on area would also depend on type of cannabis used in industry there are 3 types rudaralis/sativa/indica, rudaralis grows well in colder climates but is also a small plant, where as sativa can grow over 20 ft tall & takes around 9 months, the indica tends to be used for making hashish as its a very resinous plant,
so when it comes to industry it depends what industry needs are & the best type of cannabis plant for that job.
like medical cannabis would not use ditchweed becuase of its lack of potentcy.
maybe ditchweed would be best used in paper & textiles.
but becuase cannabis is such a versatile plant i think some thing like a dutch cefe culture should also be at least considered as part of the cannabis industry & regulated via licenced properties as alcahole is, & thus taxed.
i believe cannabis can be made safe, regulated & taxed, provide many jobs & support an array of different industrys.

o man, ihad no clue it was more impact resistant than steel. COuld it be possible for a hemp bullet proof vest? That simply astounds me that politicians are all against it. i must not have a piece of the issue...are all those guys THAT OLD? like whats going on? Im 21 and from a terror perspective to a save of my friends time (im a workout junkie sooo i do it less than some others I know) but I mean taxes brands locally people could grow and make some revenue without having to worry about coppers. I know lazy people who would benefit ENORMOUSLY off of its trade, and musicians who could grow a bit during the day and practice than play at night. It would literally change their life.

old guys, get the fight going there and tell us what to do besides write our politician. Can we walk up and just talk to our politicians? ahh its really frustrating feeling this disconnected.
